You are amazing. Started watching your looooong videos today as I need to do a DIY small water tank but now I’m thinking of not attempting it 😂🇿🇦 Really enjoy your entertaining commentary. Thanks.

This has been an entertaining FAQ; perhaps because of my own quirky sense of humor. 😂 I like the long videos. Sometimes I have them playing as I work; kinda helps me focus, except when I hear a really odd sound going off in your video and I have to look over to see whats going on. Lol. Anyway, I appreciate your dedication to the quality of your craftsmanship and your sense of humor. Thanks for making these videos. Have a good one. P.s. About that giveaway, will that used roller be autographed? 😁😆

Depends on a few factors on each individual job.

What many people who work in toxic environments do not understand is that they build up a resistance to the smell of the toxin. That’s why they don’t wear their masks, as well as the inconvenience of wearing a mask. The coughing you joked about sounds funny, but if you’ve ever seen anyone affected by a lung disease, you’d be heartbroken believe me, I can’t imagine how the person gasping for air with every breath is feeling. I am not digging you out, but I would advise everyone one watching “ PLEASE” follow the safety advice, ignoring it is not worth the risk. Last rant, lol. If you’ve never taken the safety advice, do so, give yourself the best chance you can. Great video btw 😉

I don't know if anyone has asked this but, have you ever tried fitting a suction fan to the ponds bottom drain to remove the styrene vapors from the bottom of the pond?

With styrene being heavier than air on paper it seems a good idea to draw it downwards via the bottom drain. However, this is not always feasible as the drain is often plumbed into a filter system by the time I arrive so that scenario is ruled out. You've asked a very good question and I'll be better at explaining the phenomena on an actual job so I'll try and do it towards the end of this week for you. There are only two jobs amongst thousands over the years that the vapour ever became intolerable, one was a fully enclosed steam room where I had extraction ducts taking it out (supposedly) and fans blowing fresh air in. That job was dangerous and I'll never entertain something like that again without full on BA. The other job was Dave's fully insulated fish house (video on the channel) where the intense heat absolutely hammered me. Again, all that would remove that amount of vapor was fresh air being forced in.

Thanks Matt maybe if you’re doing ponds with drains in the future like that with bottom drains in, wether the customer could leave the other end open to fit a ducted fan unit via a flex line to it. As long as its a gentle flow it should pull many contamination into the lovely fibreglass work. You could also use it to get rid of any dust without having to use a vacuum just a thought mind keep up the very interesting videos 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I wouldn't put on a customer like that, they want their filter connected they have it connected in their own time frame rather than pandering to me over a few vapours that aren't really an issue in the first place in the most part. Like I said the idea in principle is good but in practice it is flawed for many reasons as is the thought that it would extract dust. I'll explain it from the sharp end so you can see it in real life. The most dangerous aspect of my job is the driving to and from a job-now that can be dangerous!
