Star Fleet Battles -- Module R4T: The Tholian Will -- Deep-Dive Review

Today we're taking a look at Module R4T: The Tholian Will, an exciting Star Fleet Battles for Tholian fans like myself. This module contains a mixture of new stuff and revised versions of old stuff, and in general it's a great one to have if you like flying Tholians.
The flip side to this is that other players may not have R4T and may therefore be confused by your new-and-improved SSDs at the table, but that's easily solved once your group has had a chance to flip through the SSD book themselves. Hopefully some players may even be inspired to try flying the Tholians after having a look at this module; the web rules are complicated, of course, but in my opinion the resulting play is tactically interesting enough to be worth the time investment.

All of your videos about Star Fleet Battles are very informative. Thanks for making them! Have you thought of doing a video of some actual gameplay?

I have thought about it, but there's two main issues: one being that I'd need a better camera setup, as every attempt has made the counters very hard to see. The other is that tutorials and actual-plays are supposed to be checked by ADB (!!), allegedly so that we don't propagate rules mistakes or some such. Eventually I may get a better camera, so that's not insurmountable, but I really don't want to have to deal with ADB messing with my channel if they don't like my actual plays/tutorials!

"supposed to be checked by ADB"? I am not familiar with any rules or guidelines put out by ADB governing TH-cam videos, or any threats to "mess with" channels. However, I am new to the game, so my awareness is limited. Can you direct me to the source?

I don't think I had ever seen covers on their product. My dad got me into SFB 25 years ago now. His were always loose in giant three ring binders.

i was told the web spinner from TOS was called a patrol cruiser or something, is that not in this book?

That's in Basic Set. Module R4T is ships from the Tholian's home galaxy before the Seltorian rebellion and the overthrow of their rule.
