Both the Mexican Heather and the evolvolus are winners. You won't be disappointed in their show. I love snaps. The white petunias will make the flower bed come all together . You are an inspiration !
I have mauve mums that are 3 years old! Cyclamen bloomed twice before it finally died. Also, I grew snapdragons from seed last year, put in shade. The green leaves are still alive. I hope they bloom in spring again.
Love this! I have a mix of natives and florida friendlies and i love it cause i get flowers all year round. Those bright purple ground cover plants you got i have and they are awesome! Flower all year in full on florida sun
I do both. Pentas are great for bees and butterflies and I just trim them when they get leggy or have seeds. I have them mixed with tropical sage, salvia, ageratum, and blue daze in front. I have hibiscus at both ends. I have geraniums in pots from last year that I got at Kathy’s Korner. She always has a lot of pretty colors of red, white, peach and some other pentas. I put geraniums in more shade in the summer. I have snapdragon seedlings I grew. Enjoy flowers are fun!
I love your videos and just wish you had more of them! You have helped me a lot learn how to garden here in Florida. I am loving the fact that I can have something flowering in the garden all year long and something edible any time of the year also!
Mexican heather are great fillers and the bees love them. I actually got a new plant growing about 3 feet away from the original plant. I've never seen that before. Bonus! The Blue My Mind makes really nice mounds. The blooms are best in the morning.
Your desert rose looks amazing. I'm getting ready to move mine into the front of my porch. I'm hoping that they will like it there. Fingers crossed. Your flower garden looks amazing also. I'm removing some of my flower garden, its getting to be more than I can take care of lately.
I like natives where possible, but Florida friendly is mostly what I go for. I didn’t plan it this way, but most of the things I added in the front are purple flowers, or dark blue enough to look purple. Mexican Heather, Butterfly Blue Pea, Angelonia, even some of the weeds that survive the HOA’s patrols 😂 The back yard is where I have my fun, with veggies, native plants, and a charcuterie board of the neighborhood’s weeds
I loved finding you here this morning. You gave me great ideas to add some color to my winter Miami butterfly garden. I plant mostly native but since I need lots of flowers, I plant about 25% Florida friendly as well. My question to you is since you’re planting all those flowers why don’t you put a couple of host plants so that you can add more butterflies to your garden. If you add a couple privet cassias and a few corky stem passion vines you could grow six different butterflies. I have a few veggies and fruits and my favorite is my mulberry bush. It is fruiting for the second time after following your advice. Amazing. Thank you, thank you thank you. ❤
Are these good for bees? I am looking to plant perennial plants that flower through the winter and will sustain my future bees through the winter months.
Pentas and mexican heathers bloom year round. And the bees love them. My Mexican Heather is about 2 feet tall wide after 1 year and the pentas are easily 3x3ft

YES! Mexican Heather is a definite bee attractor and can be a perennial, at least a few years.
Adding in some white Dutch clover for some spots in my lawn that are browning out.

I'm inspired, plus since I'm not too far from you now I know what might work in my garden. 😉
It’s going to look amazing when they fill in 🤩🤩

The evolvulus is also known as blue daze....a great source of blue in the garden. Your little bed turned out really well!

Hi! I needed this, thank you! Lost almost everything to Helene and Milton. Time to plant something small

This is so timely for me. My flowers in front yard died due to hurricane Helene and Milton . Will replace with some of your suggestions
Oh my gosh! You and I were thinking the same! I wanted to add the reds for Christmas-Valentine's this weekend

Just beautiful ❤!
Very inspiring and it ended up looking great!

How do I determine what's native to the Houston Texas area?
