Hey dude could I get some of that s a f e t y ? My last robot had like 3 sources of instant death, I usually like to limit it to 1.
Yeah, all u gotta do is add one more death source and they all cancel out. I love science.

You have no idea as to how much I want meet you irl but because I live in the middle of nowhere (northern Maine) with no car I can't see you which makes me extraordinarily sad
I also am going to become a mechanical engineer like you (I think) because I just love making stuff but because I don't have any family members with tools I only can make stuff with a pair of pliers and a hammer :(
Keep working on your dream and magical things will happen! Also prepare for crazy amounts of maths in university.
Once you become a mechanical engineer you can just build a car! Problem solved.
Just throwing out, you can do a ton with just pliers. You can make a thermal engine (Stirling engine) out of pop cans, a balloon, steel wool, some wire, and a bottle cap and glue. There are billions of things you can make with very basic tools and extremely low amounts of money, so don't let that hold you back. Have fun and be creative!
