@@kevinseidel1390 please treat the keys with respect as it might not be here too much longer the way tourists have treated it in just this past year. If you are mad at traffic and try to take the old road, you are on vacation enjoy it, imagine having to go through all that traffic for your lunch break or to get home from work. People live here just like everywhere else so please don't be clueless if you come to the keys, don't litter, anything you take down should come back up with you.

I can't thank you enough for doing what you do. I have been following deer meat for a while now. I grew up in San Diego fishing the Pacific but I haven't been fishing for a very long time. My girlfriend lives in Fort Pierce and grew up in south Florida. She always says she can out fish me and I just can't let that happen so I've been watching your channel for tips for when I finally move there. One of my first priorities after I get settled there is getting a boat and enjoying some family time, hopefully mahi fishing. She introduced me to blackened mahi for the first time in may and now I'm hooked. I hope to run in to you on the water sometime, I would love to shake your hand and say hi. I admire you as a person, as a man, and as a Christian. Keep up the fantastic content.
Also, I told my girlfriend about shades and she went this past weekend. She mentioned the channel and they gave her three 20% so thank you for that too. She couldn't be happier with her experience there, it's the best manicure she has had since moving back to Florida a year ago. They are great people and do amazing work, it's the only place she will go now.

Once again, hats off. I've gotten several of my buds to slam tons of smoked "kingfish" dip that was half bonito and even loins off the grill. It takes some selective preparation but it is definitely good eating. We are just so spoiled here in FL.

A Bonny is a Tuna ;) We get the Orientalis and Sarda's here more often that not. Seems we share a lot of same fish and some of the techniques (especially the throw net for live mullet).

The back strap of a bonita is honestly very good. Its also very very good smoked with a brown sugar crust. It makes a candied of meat. Its so good. Its also very good in a soup and in a Japanese noodle dish

Used to catch Bonita off Aliso pier just south of Laguna Beach CA. Clear 2 piece bobber 3/4 full of water and a streamer fly on a 3 foot leader. Cast and quick crashing retrieve. Top water torpedoes is what they were. If they hit you caught them, they were all in.

I live in california and the bonita come around about the same time the yellowtail do. When I caught bonita, I made sashimi right after getting off the boat. It was delicious! I don't know why bonita get such a bad rep. I've heard people call them trash fish

4:56 is that normal to just tear out a hook like that? That would probably kill the trout i catch and release. Just curious

Ok, the wife and I watched this Vid last night. I told her if we catch one tomorrow I'm cooking it. We did catch one, cook it the same way you did and we were blown away!! I can't tell you how many times I cut these up for bait or just toss them. Just like everyone else. Delicious!

Spider crab, horse conch and horseshoe crab. I've had Bonita twice. Once marinated in teriyaki and the other time done with Everglades heat both on the grill. It's pretty good. I will definitely try it that way.

Great Job Rob. I saw the kid from Landshark do a bonita so I had to try. Bleed and ice immediately. I did have to cut out a lot of blood line so there was some waste. But let me tell you, I was eating thin slices right off the knife. Seared in olive oil and sliced. Served with wasabi and soy sauce. That is a great eat. Thanks Robert for sharing and bringing home silver from SA.
How many countries were you competing against? Thanks Dear Mom for your "Whaaaat" face, priceless.

Hello, I would love if you could do a catch clean and cook for Largehead hairtail. Dunno if you guys hava that species up there but here in Brazil is very common. The biggest ones we have here in Sao Paulo region, depending on the year can reach as far as 3 and 1/2 feet long.

Cook up a blue runner. I was catching some one day and the barracudas were cutting them in half. I usually just toss them back without messing with them. But that day when the barracudas were real bad after them, I noticed that it looked like they had a decent amount of white colored meat in them.
