Incredible guide!!! I love the way that Thargoid combat has evolved so far in such a short time. I never thought that Thargoid combat would even be possible in a ship so lightly armoured. Thanks a lot for this!!!
Yeah, it really is fun - I've been wanting small class weapons for a while now as I enjoy combat in small class ships far more than the medium and definitely the big ships. I like the feel of a "fighter" rather than a "ship" if that makes sense.
@@Exigeous perfectly as those ships (Eagle, ieagle and Viper) are amazing fun to fly. With the added bonus of not costing you huge rebuys if/when you die. Thanks a lot!!!
@@THE_BEA5T Yup. One of the few movies that can actually draw mantears out if me. Also , talking about Serenity and Firefly is an excellent age-check ^.^
Great vid! You have a video for everything. I'm somewhat new to thargoid combat, but several lesser known pilots have indicated that mirrored surfaces composites offer some advantage. This would make sense as they serve little other purpose in the game. I tried them and engineered them heavy duty deep plating. The advantage was immediately noticeable. I typically couple the mirrored composite with guardian HRPs. I seem to be much more survivable than with reactive composites.... Have other people observed this? My under standing is that some of the thargoid damage penetrates shields and does thermal damage so this would make sense....
Just entered the Witch Head Nebula area... Had my Anti-Xeno Imperial Eagle shipped in. It's armed with Adv. multi cannons and AX Lock-on missiles. Wish me luck.... And thanks for the Video... Also had my Dolphin transferred, so I can rescue people from burning stations...
@@Exigeous .... Sure, I can kill the scouts 1v1 with little trouble, but I've been utterly crushed by multiple opponents. I think I need to engineer the Eagle some more to make it truly effective. Trials and errors, still having fun... My Dolphin I use to pull people out of burning stations is working perfectly..
Oh my God oooh my!!! great video man!! That music!!! I've been in for 1000+ hours but couldn’t beat one of those damn insects, great respect for those like you who take the trouble to provide a free space disinfestation service! Please when you have some time look at my private message on patreon! 😂✌️
Great vid. Looks pretty intense, was wondering how a python (love my python) would do against these things. Don't have that much confidence in my combat skills
First Imp Eagle is only 1 medium and 2 smalls - but why this? It's harder - and for me more fun. In fact see my next video where I soloed one in a Sidewinder ;-) Next up I'm going to try the Hauler!
Dumb question but when you say ‘wait for the shields to dissipate ‘ do you mean that after 90seconds they go down without you needing to shoot them? Again great video one of your best in my opinion , must have watched it 10 times now .
Yeah, I've gotten a few Basks in my Krait, not sure I'm going to get one of those in a small ship anytime soon. Certainly not without premium ammo and damn that's expensive.
they don't. Pilot seat has dynamics on the right and left (you can see them when you move your head to the left or right). Those generate sound you hear
It's stated in the lore, pilots perform better when being able to react to audio cues in combat so the ship simulates sound so you don't get as disorientated
Well if by DLC you mean Horizons yes, but I don't really consider that DLC - it's so core to the game that if you're enjoying Elite at all it's time to get it. Yes, you'd need it as you have to land at planetary bases for things so you need it for any Thargoid combat.
Yeah, they are a race of aliens we've been at war with for 200 years, with a huge lapse in the war until a year ago. They began attacking us down in the Plieades sector, about 500 LY south of Sol (bottom part of the "bubble"). They have moved deeper into human space (the "bubble") but are mostly found down south. You need special weapons for them, either "AX" (anti-xeno) or the Guardian ones. You can buy AX weapons at some planetary bases but have to grind to unlock the Guardian variants.
Slizk - don't worry, currently they can't actually attack you other than during a high wake (hyperdiction we call it) but even then they rarely attack - so so far you're rather safe.
This is witchcraft! It is my anecdotal experience that taking down a Thargoid is impossible. No matter the ship, no matter the tutorial, I do not possess the ability. 😕
This was fantastic. Loved the play-by-play tutorial on how to take one of these things down.
Thanks buddy - love everything you've done for the channel - Glen is responsible for my logo and fantastic into segment so show him some love!

"I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar."
Yeah, not sure I'm as good a pilot as Wash is - at least I hope I don't fall to the same fate he did :(
I love this movie! Serenity is simply great.

This is fantastic content. Love the presentation. Very helpful and useful for anyone thinking about doing a goid fight. Thank you and well done!
You're most welcome, glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful.
Amazing. As a explorer i must say.that was a hell lot of fun! Thanks i made it 💪
Glad you enjoyed it - you explorer guys are a different kind of hard core aren't ya?
Yes! More thargoid videos! Now this is my kind of video!

Sorry I hadn't seen that yet - thanks for mentioning it. I'll get that changed right away - and thanks SO MUCH for your support!!!
How much of a warning do you get for the shut down field? Is it just the heads up on the HUD or does the ship do something that gives it away?
Excellent guide and commentary! o7 CMDR

Why not something bigger for better power performance? Imperial eagle e.g. it has 3 medium hardpoints at least.
First Imp Eagle is only 1 medium and 2 smalls - but why this? It's harder - and for me more fun. In fact see my next video where I soloed one in a Sidewinder ;-) Next up I'm going to try the Hauler!
My fault, I meant Imperial COURIER of course;)

That's exactly what I mean - they just drop and you can go in for the next heart without having to take them down. Glad you're enjoying it ;-)
"I'll be toggling my life support on and off" u good bro?
that was intense af
it sucks that you cant carry heatsink reloads in your cargo
Fantastic video and awesome flying sir, u smashed it buddy!!! Let’s see u solo a Basalik next 💪👊

Good Krait build for Thargoid hunting ?
Have a look at the video linked in the description for standard Thargoid Interceptors, it's in there.
Thank You Cmndr
Krait is a beautiful goid killer o7
I'd love to see this done in a vulture though...
Funny how sounds travel in Elite:Dangerous space.
they don't. Pilot seat has dynamics on the right and left (you can see them when you move your head to the left or right). Those generate sound you hear
Sounds a bit flaky to me.
mr31337 when your canopy breaks the sounds are a lot more muted
It's stated in the lore, pilots perform better when being able to react to audio cues in combat so the ship simulates sound so you don't get as disorientated
Very Impressive!
where do you get gouss cannons
You have to unlock them, and yes, I have videos on them.
thanks
i just checked it out
do i need to have the dlc for it or is there another way
Well if by DLC you mean Horizons yes, but I don't really consider that DLC - it's so core to the game that if you're enjoying Elite at all it's time to get it. Yes, you'd need it as you have to land at planetary bases for things so you need it for any Thargoid combat.
how much is it?
I don’t get the story on this game I’ve only got the game 3 weeks ago what are thargiod? Aliens?
They are aliens that want to invade the bubble
Yeah, they are a race of aliens we've been at war with for 200 years, with a huge lapse in the war until a year ago. @@Exigeous don't Anti xeno canons overall do worse damage to them than grade 5 engineerd canons do?
CMDR Exigeous thank god im in the upper bubble then 😂

Good skills nice one
Yesssss
A real pro!
I feel sorry for the bugs
I have a friend who always says "Thargoids are friends not fodder!"
yamiks even killed a cyclops with a winder
Mad as a carrot!
Don't have enough power for all modules so we'll be toggling life support on and off. 😂🤣🤣
