Just as I wondered how to turn a continuous variable into a categorical one, I bumped into this pure gold video. Thanks a million, Sir! Bow to you from Ecuador.
Very helpful! If I happen to follow the same process, how should I report this in my results chapter? Should I describe it as it is in the video? Should I mention that I used percentiles? Thank you so much in advance.
Thank you so much this is exactly I was searching from last month. Actually I have 10 questions in a Likert scale to assess Acceptance of a device, I saw almost 50 videos on how to analyse a likert scale. But no video mentions how to categorise in highly acceptance to lower acceptance. I hope in this which you explained will applicable to a my situation. In this I have 10 questions on a 5 point likert scale from 1 to 5. And the lowest is 10 to highest is 50. I want to make a range of highly acceptable, acceptable and low acceptable. So please reply can I follow this for a likert scale or there’s some else formulas for this. Thank you so much.
very helpful video!can i ask you something?i split the level of metacognition awareness in low, medium, high with this method. and i want to find if the high level of metacognition predict high level of selfefficacy..i ll do the same metho for SE and then linear regression?thank you!
Thank you so much sir, for this video. I wanted to know is it applicable for 4 point likert scale? and secondly, how should I cite? If any book or article or this video?
Respected Sir, Thank you for the response. It would be helpful for my research data analyses if you provide the reference🙏@@dr.yasirhayatmughalstatsfo7381
Hello sir wonderful video, i have to do a t test with high and low. Is it possible to first split the continous variable into three then take only high and low for further analysis
@@dr.yasirhayatmughalstatsfo7381 my continous variable is social media usage. My hypothesis is there will high social media users will have lower mental well-being than low social media users
@@aakritibhanjo6051 ok, just split your social media and mental well-being into two categories i.e. low and high then check the frequncy. Second thing is you can do it by moderation it will create a plot and automatically explain you low high and moderate effect of moderator upon mental well being.
@@dr.yasirhayatmughalstatsfo7381 sir I read that splitting variables dichotomously results in loss of information, hence i did low medium high then t test with low and high, is that okay?

Education Students used Maslach Burnout Inventory so they divide variables of burnout into low average and high levels. in order to check whether employees or students have low level of burnout, average or high level of burnout

On what scale you have measure satisfaction befor transforming into another kindly rply? Is satisfaction was on 5 point likert scale?
it's a really very informative video. Saqib Malik

Thank you dr.. this really help me solve my data analysis difficulties.. may allah bless you
Thank you so so much. Luckily I found your video in the nick of time. You're basically my lifesaver!
Thanks very much

@Dr.Yasir Hayat Mughal Stats For Everyone May God bless your kindness Dr. I was browsing through many notes and videos, but yours is just simply good.
Thank you for the video, very quick question how did you you divide 100 percentile into 3 categories

Thank you =)
what is the name of this statistical analysis? is it called mean division? thanks
thank you sir, very helpful video
How do I do this for the actual scale and categorise high and low using the median only ?
Also can I do anova with these values?
If l want to categories numbers in to good attitude and bad attitude
And the score range from 1 to 27 how can l use this way?
The same procedure... but you have to read actual paper of good and bad attitue from where you adopted it,
Thank u very muchhhh🥺🥺
Hello Dr. ! Please can you tell me that if I find an association between Intervening variables with the sociodemographic variables ?? Is it valid?
Do you mean you run correlation by entering sociodemographic variable & intervening variable ?right?

how did you come up with those median of 33,66 and 100?
Divide 100 into 3 categories

hello sir, may i ask, how to compare three level groups for statistical analysis? which method is the best?

I have same question

you have to create three levels 1 stands for low 2 for moderate and 3 for high then follow the same process given in video

This method is "median split" method
Why do you take 23? It's not lowest?
sir, how to divide variable into low, average and high if my score is 11 (low) and 25 (high)
first create composit variable means to say take average of all items into one variable then follow the process given in video.
How do I do this for likert scales with different items
in the above video likert scale was used (1-5) with 7 items you may follow the same process hope this will work
