We don't choose the lone wolf path. It chooses us

It's worked for me for nearly 50 years! I go weeks without talking to anyone other than my girlfriend or the guys at work about work. I do my best work alone.

The podcast you had with Mike glover also covered this topic well , it’s great to be a tribe , be a community, I also understand those lone wolves

Thanks for the tips. I just moved to a new state, and I am trying to figure out how to make new friends as an older guy. This video was very helpful.

I'm bad for being a loner, but I agree with much of this.

I enjoy time with other friends , especially miss hunting with my buddies. Now a days we all have family’s and feels like everyone is to busy chasing money.

    I'm that loner...
    And suck at social skills...
I realize I'm missing out real connection.

being autistic, there's no way i'll ever be extroverted. and i still have no real idea what 'networking' is.
but this vid has some of the most practical ideas for talking to people, particularly other adult men, that i have heard in decades.
    thank you Ryan!

I have community that changes constantly. God also isolates us for good reasons. If you have God you are never alone. A good friend of mine says, “There ain’t nothing me and God can’t do!” I am wanting to create a new band of brothers. Just recently, however, God has been removing people from my life. He will give me who I need when I need them.

I am a lone wolf and always will be. Grew up in the woods with no friends on a farm. I have PTSD and Bipolar. I find being away from people healing and peaceful. I thrive on that serenity and peace. Being around people drains me to exhaustion. I’ve handle everything on my own so far. Never had a dad or mom. Taught myself how to be a man. I disagree about being a loner. I think there’s a LOT to learn by being isolated. It’s not for everyone. It is for some. I think I’ll add another archetype. The monk or ranger. I’m drawn to the wilds not people. Bushcraft and survival. My spiritual relationship with God is the best when I’m alone. I hear Him more clearly.

This is an interesting top. Especially in today's environment. Men with families today have more than one job. And the family consumes so much of that man free time. Children, wives need attention. Everything needs a man attention. As men, we really need to schedule time to band with and form friendships with.

Just found your channel a few days ago and you’ve inspired me to make some big changes so thank you! My only reservation when it comes to taking relationship/marital advice though (this is an actual question, not rhetorical or trying to sound underhanded), can you tell me why I should invest my time and possibly money into you as a man who was recently divorced? I apologize I think you said a year and a half ago?

I think following God is a lot more important than whether or not you’re alone. If you have trustworthy friends that you see eye to eye with, and you can count on in a tough situation, That’s truly a blessing. But it’s not always a given. Sometimes the path of doing what’s right requires you to be alone At least for a season, But if you stick true to who you are and What you believe in, eventually You’ll find some pretty good buddies walking the same path.

To create or even join a group it takes honor, respect and dignity as a man. Most men fail to protect their honor or respect cause they have no dignity. How can you know what your made of if your not constantly tested ? This is all primitive and tribal is my Brother isn’t strong to protect himself how could I trust you to have my back in a Crisis

I don’t agree, same could be said about being social. It works till it doesn’t. If you have, through living life found out that most people are worthless. It’s because it’s true.

Depends on the people you allow to be around you or keep intentional contact with. If you lay with a flea infested dog you can expect fleas.

If you were born & grew up in a Democratic state yet your heart tells you that your a Republican, you may want to re-locate to a Republican state. Otherwise, when your over 25, if you don't re-locate then you may miss out on opportunities when it comes to being hired, even discriminated against. The same holds true when making new friends, a tribe, especially if you lost all contact from older friends back in High School. You also may come from a broken home, absent father, have toxic siblings and other relatives, and want to move to a different state or country.
