It was such an honor to be a part of this. I have been crying on and off all day. There are no words to adequately describe my emotions.

On a tiktok binge watching the prolifers harass patients at the clinics. Watching the escorts try to drown them out. I think y’all singing back as a example of who side God stands would bring the world such awakening. God is in the clinics with her woman men lbgtq patients. And she stands strong with and for them. The clinic in Nebraska. My only life’s wish.

@@yeahgideon1757 Jeremiah 1:5. Anyone who remotely knows the Bible knows that abortion is against God. Your beliefs are stupid, inconsistent, and not based on any kind of foundation. If pro choice was an actual moral belief than suicide would be acceptable by the same logic.

I sang this song with my choir freshman year. This is an absolutely beautiful video. And from a choral perspective, so well executed. I live for such crisp cut offs. Absolutely incredible. Tears me up every time.

    "Make Them Hear You"
Go out and tell our story.
Let it echo far and wide.
    Make them hear you,
    Make them hear you.
    How justice was our battle
    And how justice was denied.
    Make them hear you,
    Make them hear you.
And say to those who blame us
For the way we chose to fight
    That sometimes there are battles
That are more than black or white...
And I could not put down my sword
    When justice was my right.
    Make them hear you.
Go out and tell our story
To your daughters and your sons.
    Make them hear you,
    Make them hear you.
And tell them, in our struggle,
We were not the only ones.
    Make them hear you,
    Make them hear you.
Your sword can be a sermon
Or the power of the pen.
Teach every child to raise his voice
    And then, my brothers, then
    Will justice be demanded
    By ten million righteous men.
    Make them hear you.
    When they hear you,
    I'll be near you
    Again.

Heaven sounds too stiff for me anyways. I'd much rather be free to live how I want in any and all lifetimes :) But if you make it there, let me know how it is :D We could be pen-pals in the afterlife XD

Wait, He'll defeat Satan? So you mean He will vanquish the evil in our hearts so that we may accept each other as we are, whether we are gay, or straight, or neither? Sounds great.
I think, Miss Smith, that these wonderfully talented men would rather burn in the hell you think they're going to than go to a God that does not love them. Which He does, for according to your Bible all of His children are made in His image and He sacrificed His only son to save us- all of us. Whether we are gay, or trans, or straight, or even prejudiced like you. Have an awesome day in your ignorant lil bubble.

I've been thinking of a women's version of this. An easy change is turning 'brothers' into 'sisters' in the last verse. I'm not sure what to do with "10 million righteous men" though. You can't just sub in "women" for "men" - the scansion and accent is wrong, so a whole new line would be better or even a new pair of lines.

    • @Fuhehua
      @Fuhehua 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Girls? Gals? Dames? Maids? Or maybe sub it for "10 million righteous souls" or hearts?

Amazing how powerful something is when it is sung from the heart and with purpose & understanding. Really wonderful. Though I will say, and I mean no disrespect, it would have been even better if they had sung it without the conductor. Her conducting, for this song, was very distracting and annoying to watch.

Going to get a lot of hate for this… Love it, truly do, however… I don’t like to take a song established deeply in black suppression and conform it to another struggle. Everyone else knows including me, that the LGBTQ community has struggled for a very long time. I just don’t think that using this song bares the same meaning as it does for the black community… Not trying to create division here, just throwing out my opinion, although I know that no ill intent was meant at all. I feel as if it is almost saying that the struggle that both communities endured was the same… When it was far far from it. Very beautiful voices though, very well put together, and amazing men in the group
