Girl I hear you, I see you and I feel you! I lived in Paris for 10years and can relate to everything you said...I left last year and so glad I did. I feel much better within myself..and understand your conflict about wanting to leave. I got very lucky and made some french friends and made many American friends but even they left Paris after a while lol. I'll be back in March for a quick weekend, Paris is more enjoyable as a tourist :)

I really appreciate your honesty. I'm considering moving to France but not in Paris. I love Paris but it is expensive and does seem like it would be tough to make friends. I'm thinking south of France.

Just came back from visiting Paris. Yes, people are rude but you can't take it personally. Its a hard life living in a crowded city where its always full of tourists. Everyone is stressed out. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my time there and will be back. Just discovered your channel. ❤❤❤

Thank you for sharing your experiences Ona! As retirees my partner and I are considering France for retirement. We're from the states. We are in Paris now. May I ask some of your favorite restaurants that are not terribly expensive? Thank you!

Many Europeans dismiss US friendships as shallow and fake. They say in Europe it takes a long time but the friendships are genuine. I have my doubts about this reasoning. But I'd like to hear your perspective since you've been in both places for some time.

It is the Central, Eastern and Northern Europeans mostly, they also dismiss southern Europeans for the very same stereotypes.

You're correct to doubt. Americans are more open to making friends for sure.

I’m in Chicago right now my home town. It’s really hot here today. Could you deal with the winters in Chicago? Today is my birthday as well. I’m going to the Art Institute today.

No, it is a thing of Central, East and Northern regions of Europe. Not all Europe. And Germany… no way, everyone knows you don’t go to Germany to make friends

In South Africa I drink the cheapest wines, cheap and cheerful, my friend drinks quite expensive wines, but after a bottle no one cares right 😆... My ex lives in Paris, she works for the French government...
