On behalf of the manufacturer, I can answer questions about RD218, thank you for your questions, we are already optimizing, the optimized product will not arrive until May, on Amazon. 1. The AM magnetic rod and the amplifier circuit are enlarged to improve the sensitivity of the AM band and weak signals. 2. The button light will automatically turn off after 5 seconds, and change to 8 seconds. Too long will increase the burden on the battery. 3. When adding FM reception, stereo settings. ST can be turned on and off.
I bought mine this summer (2024). It's the best SW radio under/for 20 $ (including shipping). It's a digital receiver with medium to good sensitivity, and with even too good sound quality. Although it's the best traveler radio you can get for 20 $, I would change the followings: three times larger whip (the original one is too short), sound quality/selectivity control (on weak stations high tones with 8-9 kHz wide selectivity are very annoying). So it's not for DX-ing (MW is weak, FM is medium, SW is medium to good), but to listen your favorite broadcasts (world services like CRI/SGTN) is the best in this category. It is worth the money, but I can recommend only with a 1 m long wire attached to the little whip - what is not convenient in case of a traveler kit. Without added whip or wire it's very noisy due to the lack of antenna signal.
Just got one of these from Amazon for $10.47. Did some testing last night with just the little antenna and was able to get a Nashville station from Tulsa. Seriously. $10! Thanks, Todderbert!
I was in Target with my 18 y/o daughter today and I saw some "Marvel" lip balm packages. Iron Man was one of the characters in the package. I showed my daughter and said "Iron Man, he's the man with the master plan--he loves Clooblut radios from China land..." She looked at me like I was crazy, as you can imagine...lol.
Thanks for the review. I bought one! I love the crisp audio that this has on each band. It’s light and easy to tune and has proper volume and tuning dials.
Thanks for the review, As expected in these radios there is no external antenna input for FM and SW but I am pro in getting around that, I have been able to squeeze in a 2.5mm audio jack to serve as a external antenna input that looks like it was OEM. I didn't see any mentions for a DC in put jack to bypass the internal battery. I can resolve that issue as well if room allows. I really appreciate your time and effort doing this !
A problem that is often encountered is that there is no need to reset the time when changing the battery. When changing the battery, you have 2 minutes, when the memory is powered by the capacitor. Do not turn on the backlight at this time. It will discharge and the capacitor will be dead. Just reset the time. The battery can work normally at 2.0V-3.0v. If you use a rechargeable battery, it may only be 1.2V, and 2 cells add up to 2.4V. The battery symbol on the screen will only display half a grid. After the battery drops to 1.9V, the radio will not work. It shows no power.
I have the LIJIANI branded version of this radio which comes with weather band instead of SW, and I'm loving it. FM performance is exceptional despite short antenna. So who cares if the antenna is short.... The audio is very clear and natural sounding. I find weather band more useful than SW for this size. Once you get into the SW band, things get too detailed, and atleast a TECSUN is in order.
Hej same here the XHDATA D-109 looks very nice and other tests I've seen it seems to have a very good speaker but I look forward to hearing what Todderbert thinks of the XHDATA D-109. But both the XHDATA D-109 and XHDATA D-219 are on my radio buy list because I think it seams to very nice new radios from XHDATA take care and have a nice day.
Hej Todderbert thanks for the review the ClooBlut RD218 seams to be a great pocket radio and I like what I see here so yes gonna buy this radio it's also nice to have pocket radios for a low cost that are good. And yes have bought a lot of pocket radios lately which I am very happy with and I'm looking at some pocket radios today that I'm going to buy so nice with radios that take no space. But definitely the ClooBlut RD218 I'll add to the buy list take care Todderbert and have nice friday and weekend.
Depends, I like having the weather band. If it was someone's only backup house radio, I would say get the Weather version. For those who like to explore, the Shortwave version is Fun.
@@todderbert messqul If I'm spelling that right? Has come out with a new revitalized version of their pocket video. You might want to consider taking a look at it. All the reviews are amazing of the new version.
I have been using an online shortwave radio and was having fun finding all the weak signals with USB. I bought this not understanding what sideband was unfortunately and now i'm looking for a good ssb for under 50$. Any recommendations?
Amazing for $20 you can get, and it has an alarm built in also so you don't need an alarm clock. Does anybody still buy an LED alarm clock these days? Thanks again.

@@Hunkiralyfi That makes sense.
No Aliexpress já está tudo certo com a otimização do RD218 com impressão Clooblut ?

Hello Please best MW radios under $30??
The Sangean SR-35, Sony ICF-P26(if you can find one). The inexpensive Videyas Radios works well, just takes patience.
Tecsun R909 and Tecsun MS200
I bought one after watching this video and am very pleased. Excellent radio for the money! Thanks Todderbert!
Many of these DSP radios have a core CPU frequency of 860-900 khz, where radio will whistle or null. On FM around 98.4 to 98.6 FM or 100 FM.
How is this $20? Amazing

The Short antenna works so well with FM, it is shockingly good.
Is that Comic Sans on the screen bezel? I don't think I've ever seen any commercial product with the Comic Sans font printed on it.
I'm looking forward to the XHDATA D-109
It will happen in days :) I filmed a ton this week with the D-109.

Russia has only a few old UKV Russian FM stations left. They are mostly 88-108 FM.
What clip are you using for the external antenna?
Does the headphone wire act as the antenna?
I have the same question.
Yes, after plugging in the earphone, the earphone cable is the FM antenna.
I have a question for you. Would you consider this radio better than the? Lijiani 218wb Even though they're made by the same company?

Check out eBay for something used. A new SSB radio can be had for around $79, in the form of the Tecsun PL330, at Amazon: amzn.to/40Afm0z
@@todderbert Thanks, I actually just watched your review on that one 5 minutes ago.
Was thinking that one or the ats-20.
There is no instruction on how to turn the alarm setting off. Not listed in the instructions.
Second row, second button from the left, single press to turn Alarm On or Off. th-cam.com/video/asQRmzvr7rg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=xa7FPOjxrXTrfSYq&t=136
I do have questions about the radio (:
Which FM radio receiver is having more powerful receiving capacity so far from your experience????
Sangean PR-D12
@@todderbert thanks for your reply... But it is costly, any other radio lesser than this, around 8K INR...?
Sounds interesting. Memory has about 1-3 minutes time without batteries.
I think someone in China was trying to spell “Cool” and ended up with “Cloo”
What's the shortwave frequency range on this radio?
Continuous Shortwave Coverage from 4.750 - 21.850 MHz.

With all my Radios, I have four working Radio Alarm Clocks around the Room ;)
The names, da horror, the names. Just picked up a clue butt blut same difference😂
I think they were going for Cool Blue when they released a few Blue colored Models awhile back...though I'm only guessing :)
