Yasooka, like so many other Japanese players, are an absolute pleasure to watch. they're always so respectful, meticulous, and clean in their actions, as well as being really, *really* good.
TheMagicManSam thats how their raised to be over there, very disciplined, very respectful and all around very orderly people. while americans here grow up without having any respect for anything, being rude and obnoxious, and just being down right horrible people. the majority of stuff that happens here in america, youd be beaten half to death over there for, and thats why their people grow up better then ours

We're all human. We're all the same whether you like it or not. You'll find people to fit every trait you can think of, in any society you can think of. No matter where you go, there will be assholes, and there will be saints. If you say hello to a hundred different people every day for a week and asked to remember each of their names, chances are you couldn't. However, one of those guys decides to slap you across the face, chances are you won't forget his. What I'm getting at with the analogy is the assholes will leave a far deeper impression on you, but don't blame everyone

Can someone explain why no one played Dragonlord Dromoka. I feel like the Abzan/Green White Control Decks would benefit from shutting down instants on their turn.
Colton Holder I doesn't really help that much in any matchup. The shutting down instants ability is only really relevant against a control deck. But a control deck will most likely have an answer to a a big 6 drop threat like dromoka, so it's probably just going to die once you pass the turn back. And they can still just cast any instants they really need to cast that turn in response to dromoka. Not having any sort of lingering effect doesn't make it very good against the control decks that can just hero's downfall it. Having more tempo efficient plays with lingering effects like siege rhino or tasigur do a better job of pressuring control decks and match up better against aggro decks cuz they come down sooner.

The reason that shouta makes mana at 40:54 is to make xenagos survive the thunderbreak trigger. Can't believe that the commentators thought he was "just making mana". bit of an afterthought after rewatching this match.
Watching this in 2018...please bring back a dragon plane for more than a Core set soon...please!!!! And dont have an OP set like Khans to over shadow it

It just sounds pretty strange to me that a competitive player wouldnt have up to date info on all the cards realistically being played at the premier level. In each format and good enough knowledge of the ins and outs of how those cards work to not be constantly reading them. Lmfao. Like, I haven't even played magic in ages. But i used to play a lot of vintage, with the maximum possible cardpool magic has to offer, and never had to grab someone else's extremely expensive ancient cardboard relics, which were printed well before I was born. To read them and understand what they do. Nor did anyone really have to grab and read mine. That's in a format where cards from 2010 coexist with cards from 2018 and 1993. And everything in between. There really just aren't that many variables involved when identifying a card your opponent is playing or action they are undertaking lmfao. Every deck is built around a fundamental strategy after all. Aggro, control, prison, ramp, graveyard etc. And each of these strategies only plays the best possible cards to serve that strategy. So if you know the format well and know your own deck well and know the matchups well. Which i would assume any "competitive player" does. Then you wouldn't exactly have a lot of trouble following your opponents gameplay and maybe even trying to track the cards you expect them to have in their deck before you've seen them, let alone when they're right in front of you but behind some cardboard lands lmfao. Especially considering most formats don't exactly have a 30 year cardpool either lmfao. Or even that many viable decks
