That part where he said “full of thunder” gave me chills. I wish I could see an old steamer at work like they used to. And though cars are convienent, they were not nearly as much of a legend as when trains were.

Ridership on Amtrak trains has been increasing on its Pacific Surfliner,San Joaquin & Capital Corridor train routes in California. I ride the Pacific Surfliners between San Diego, Los Angeles & Oxnard,CA when I’m home in the San Diego area on visits up to a week. This year the Pacific Surfliner route will either reach the 3 million passenger rider mark and/or will surpass it.
A couple of days ago I was reading the latest issue of train magazine, and found out that the Mark Twain Zephyr is now being restored to running condition. Isn't that awesome?

I mean sure we have the Dash 9-44c and the SD70ACE and the Acs from Amtrak. Sure they might have been slower than the trains today, but you will never heard the thunder of the rails nor the thunder surounding you when a streamliner goes by.
