      Zach has 4 TD's and 5 INT in 6 games. Two of his TD's were only TD's because of Garrett. Saying a 3 yard shovel pass and a 33 yard contested catch by GW is showing improvement is grasping for straws. His 2 point conversion is the same play as most of his TD's in the pros. Zach needs to go.

    That Lazard illegal block -> bad drop sequence was sooo bad. Those two plays really hurt the box score watchers. But a win against undefeated teams are hard to come by. Good game by ZW, much better than it looked in the stats. But need some stat padders for ZW honestly. Hopefully against the giants

We need to trade for another receiver to help GW out because Lazard, Cobb, Hardman are not it. Those 3 alone consisted of 4 drops today. Other 2 were Conklin and GW.

If you watched the game too, which I’m assuming you did based on the comment, you have to also agree that today, the second he finishes his drop back, there were already 4 guys in his backfield with the pocket collapsing on most pressures. 2 of the sacks today, he didn’t even get through his dropback to make a read. 2, he should of slid out, yes, and then the big loss in the redzone on the rollout (terrible play call there btw, Reddick was all over it), not much he could have done. A great team win! D came up huge. ZW played a good game but not great like against KC. He needs to work on his back should throws. Other thing he needs to improve on is getting rid of the ball when pressure is coming. His internal clock is still not there. We also need to stop getting dumb penalties like the Lazard block. He just needed to stand there. Probably our best shot at scoring before Breece got in. We can definitely win with QB play (INT free). We need to stop having 6 passes a game go through receivers hands that would convert third downs. We need an oline that will give ZW longer than his drop back to read the field to throw a ball. We need a second receiver to take the pressure off GW that is actually good. We need to stop committing undisciplined penalties in the redzone. We need a lot of things unfortunately. Zach is playing significantly better, just need to be better to help him actually succeed and get in the end zone.

  • @Geistyy
    @Geistyy 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

    Zach looked a lot better than the stat line shows because of the numerous drops and bonehead penalties in the redzone. Mahomes and the Chiefs are having a similar issue as the Jets offense right now in the lack of protection up front (we rank 31st in pass block win rate coming into this game) and the lack of receivers aside from a single option. So why does Mahomes never catch any blame for the offensive struggles, and the lack of protection and weapons around him catches all of that blame, but for Zach Wilson, all of that blame disappears and solely rests on his shoulders each week?

LaFleur was a 34 year old quarterbacks coach that never had to call a play or develop a quarterback in his life behind Kyle Shanahan. They brought him in to develop Zach Wilson, and he didn’t have the experience, maturity or ability to do that. Now, you have Rodgers, you have Hackett, two guys who are veterans, have experience, can work offense, and have a ton of knowledge to help him develop, and it’s starting to truly show. He’s not perfect, but, he’s improving steadily. This is basically his rookie year 2.0. The last two, have to be forgotten and washed. He's had to grow up fast in the midst of a garbage franchise. I would love nothing more than to see him take the next step, but it might never happen. It certainly won't happen if he's on his back every other play. The Jets O-Line reminds me of my Skins line, but perhaps worse. We've got Howell back there (another young guy) doing his best but the pocket collapses so fast. Rodgers tore his Achilles trying to escape the same type of pressure that's getting to Wilson on almost every play.

    We were very lucky to come away with this one with a win. That INT doesnt happen and were all killing Zach right now. He hasnt played bad but the offense is just so vanilla and boring. There is zero upside and I really have seen enough. Luckily there are so really winnable games the rest of the way that the defense should lead us to victory to, but as far as winning a potential playoff game against KC, CIN, BAL, MIA, or even BUF....no way.

      @@MP-yc2ou No doubt Philly's defense is elite and I am thrilled with the win. I'm just saying that as a team we are very limited with Zach. He can do better than we all think against teams like Denver, but we wouldn't be seeing them in the playoffs if we get there. We'll be seeing teams like Philly.
      The defense is good enough that we have a shot in every game. And with Sauce and DJ out today you couldn't ask for much more than to hold the Eagles to 14 points. But there were just a lot of missed oppourtunities on offense that a good one capitalized on.

      Old cliche, but true here. Take what the defense gives you. But we hit the brick wall in the red zone every game. Even with a marginal o-line, what I like best is that Zach is stepping into the pocket and bailing moving forward rather than retreating on every play. 3rd and eights, rather than 3rd in 16s. That's a big deal. Kudos to Sanchez!

      @@NothingToPointOut24 Can I have what you’re drinking? As much as the media wants Zach to take the fall, it’s not his fault that our offensive line sucks. Or that our receivers let balls go off their chest or through their hands 6 times this game. Three of which, would have been third downs converted. He wasn’t responsible for a blindside block, a holding call and a couple of false starts in the redzone. He also didn’t call that boneheaded rollout play action that resulted in Reddick untouched chasing him for a sack by the time he turned around. The kid doing a lot better with an actual offensive coordinator helping him develop, and not Mike LaFleur. He isn’t turning the ball over, he’s more accurate, he’s driving the offense, even if we aren’t getting in the end zone, he’s not making bad throws. He’s doing what he has to do. He’s not the only player on this offense being paid. Stop blaming the kid for everything, and maybe blame the front office for not putting this kid in a better situation to succeed on offense with a better offensive line that isn’t injury prone and ranks 31st in pass block win rate, and maybe a second receiver that’s actually a threat to give Zach a second read to go to since Lazard is never open, and when he is, he drops the ball. Like shit, Mahomes is having the same issues as Zach right now, and rightfully so, we blame his offensive line and receivers. Why has the blame for those guys disappeared just because the qb is Zach Wilson?
