I was thinking that as well, I have run with bloom turned off for like 3 years and I had forgotten about that glare. I'm pretty sure all pc users have turned that off in their beach bob phase

Aha! I, too, used those lamps defensively on our sever years ago. I didn't get to use them much, though. The Chinese fucked off after a few successful base defends, then wiped most of the other bases on the server while we slept. I've never used the tech lights, but the way you used them is fucking incredible. I absolutely love it.

The only sad thing is that when I still played there was a way to edit the .ini file that stripped the world of many features, like leaves from trees and such, probably the lights won't work in that mode. People caught on stream using that edited file were banned but those who don't stream it can't be caught. Anyone know if that client-side exploit was ever fixed?
I used to use a strategy similar to this where I’d use glow sticks. It was mainly just a troll and I’d chuck them at someone’s base, and if I threw enough it could even crash their game. I did use it when raiding a couple of times, and I called the strategy “raiding under the cover of light”
Please add the one with the bats or even maybe a dimorph maybe with a few light pets that shoot out like rockets! Love your videos. Can't wait to blind people!
I hope the devs don't fix this because this is a genuine base defense tactic that I'd like to see people use, I also wanna see people try soaking a base using that tactic. Although I don't think it will blind people who use INI or people using the lowest settings unfortunately, making this method a complete waste of time.

Ark is one of the games announced to get Real time raytracing, now I dont know which type it will get and most people wont or cant run the ray tracing but I am curious to see how that will change this type of stuff
On PC you can turn off bloom, almost every PC ARK TH-camr is using INI, so I don't think this is going to work for those people, normally that'd be fine, but almost every hardcore PVP ARK player uses INI now :( Maybe if the devs knew how to properly manage a game this would affect everyone. Now I want to play Console ARK and ditch PC ARK.
It's a shame you say it won't work on rag, cuz I was already plotting on how to set up a mini one on a raft for a nasty mobile snipping platform. Sadly rag is the only map worth using boats cuz of the whale fish...

What about if someone changes their setting. No light blooming. No light shafts. Up or down on graphic details. gamma, all that would effect your lights?
Awesome builds. What about beach bases, something like locked in rafts with these built on it, so you can change the angle of light? Or canting pillars to get a higher degree of light against flyers?

Do you realize you just created a new meta... I'm going to build this now, we have been under siege for weeks on SmallTribes servers against a server alliance. Sniping is essential for us right now, hope it works, I'll let you know and try to get some video of it. (I'm on Valguero)
Turn off lightshafts and bloom and this wont work. This only affects console players since wc disabled the ability to turn thise off via console commands but on the stram version you can just turn them off in settings.
This most likely wont work on official on pc because alot of people have launch options to purposely make it look less bright and reflective, not to mention the .ini file
We use to put lights all over our quetzal and say we were the ark police as my brother flashed them on and off. Pull people over farming metal we also painted them red and blue
Imagine soaking a base with this design for hours on end. I feel like I'd have to wear sunglasses overtime because my eyes would become so sore from the bright ass light(s). "I was thinking of adding bats to add a flickering effect to cause some irritation" m8, the bright ass lights alone cause irritation

just have 400 lights as close together as you can, turn it on when you get raided, and it crashes the server.

He built it on Abberation where you cannot really use INI. At least I can't use the ones I have.

White dye on ur tek lights. CONSOLE ONLY AS PC PLAYERS WILL JUST TURN OFF LIGHT EFFECTS.
