    I can see the pleasure on your face and I'm going to have to tell my husband for my birthday to buy me some Pairfect skeins. We've been here in California on lock down so long I just need something to put a smile on my face like you have on yours.
    Thank you for your informative and very friendly video. You are a delight. Yes, I love Arnie and Carlos, have learned a lot from them.

    I am trying to learn to knit. Having dexterity issues. I hope to learn to knit well enough to knit socks for myself and my loved ones. I am 62 years old and I believe I can do it. I do know how to crochet. These socks are so darling. It's exactly what I want to be able to do. Thank you for inspiring me and helpine me to believe I can one day achieve my lofty goal.

      Hello Renee, I keep forgetting that I should check messages. You can definitely achieve your goal. The main thing to remember is that you should enjoy the process and don't be too hard on yourself if it doesn't work our the first time. Keep going and have fun with it.

      Hello Renee, please visit your local yarn shop or public library, look for a social knitting group or group classes. We have one in Lady Lake FL and we help each other gain the skills we dream of. You can do it. No class or group, use TH-cam. Best of Luck!

    Thank you so much for your informative video. I have ordered the yarn and can’t wait to get it. I was a little concern as to how to start knitting with the yarn but you have explained the process so perfect. I am a very slow knitter, one day I’ll send a photo of my finished sock.
    Thanks from down under. Australian.

    I found this video very informative. I ordered this yarn online and it arrived today. I cast on 72 stitches for my socks and wondered if the yarn pattern would work for that size. It’s also good to know that I don’t have to do a short row heel - I’m a fan of the traditional heel. Your video answered a lot of questions for me - thank you!

    Thanks for the "toe tip" of adding another yarn for uniqueness. I know the yarn allows for a solid toe - short or long - and it is usually in a shoe, but many of my socks are made for lounging to i love the unique addition/change.

    What size Needles do you use? I used a 2.75mm casted on 60 stitches and it did not come out like the picture(even thought the gauge was correct). I took it out and used a 2.25mm casted on 64 stitches and it also doesn't look like the picture. The 2.25mm and 64 stitches was suggested by another knitter. Help!!!

    Thanks for the video, I have some bundles of this yearn and am ready to start. I don't like instructions either... If the short roe heal doesnt please you as is, how about using 2/3 of the stitches for the heal, rather than 1/2 of them. I recommend trying it. Short roes are so easy compared, it's almost like cheating I think :)

    Great review, congratulations on your first video. You seem very calm and knowledgeable, I will not be using Pairfect again as on my third attempt with 64 stitches and the same needles my socks do not match up on the top pattern. Very disappointed.

    Thank you Judith, I have watched Arne and Carlos but sometimes they confuse me. Do you start the second sock from the yellow on the outside of the ball? Thank you 🧶🧶🇨🇦

    • @judithmitchellthedevotedlu3087
      @judithmitchellthedevotedlu3087  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      MeMe Fraser No, just keep going on the inside. When the first sock is done, depending on how much yarn you used to finish the foot and toe, keep pulling the yarn out the centre of the ball until the next yellow bit emerges and then start your second sock. Hope that makes sense. Let me know if you need more help. 🧶 🧶 🇦🇺

    Great video Judith!
    Love this yarn, but their designs are not perfect. The gusset heel looks far better than the boomerang/short row imo. Let's not get started about the fit.
    Couldn't recommend this range enough though. It's really nice not to have to count so much.

    • @judithmitchellthedevotedlu3087
      @judithmitchellthedevotedlu3087  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you. Yes, I am a huge gusset heel fan. I'm also a huge fan of Regia yarn. It's a hardy yarn that does the job. Given that no two feet are the same, I think a discussion on fit may take a while and it is recommended to pack away any sharp instruments during such a discussion.

    Hi Judith. Thanks for the review and tips. Just discovered sock knitting and Arne & Carlos' channel on TH-cam. You sound like a fellow South African. Where did you buy your yarn?

    • @judithmitchellthedevotedlu3087
      @judithmitchellthedevotedlu3087  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alex, yes, almost. I am from Namibia. I live in Australia now. I'm not sure who stocks it in South Africa. I'm going to ask a friend and get back to you.

      Hi Alex, I heard back from my friend in SA. Here are a few shops you can buy from: There is an online shop called Be Inspired. There is a store in Durbanville, called Thimbles and their online store is called skapie.co.za. I hope you have some success in acquiring it.

    Knowing you do not like the short row heel, but gave it a try, could you tell me more about the fit? I’ll be trying it for the first time with the pairfect yarn...

    • @judithmitchellthedevotedlu3087
      @judithmitchellthedevotedlu3087  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I found the short row heel a bit too pointy. It slides in under my foot. I have tried a few different heels and always just come back to the good old turned heel. I suspect that the shape of one's heel may be a factor as well. Also, I found it almost impossible to make the short rows look neat.

    • @peepers4763
      @peepers4763 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for getting back to me. I've been using a fleegle heel on the up socks because cuff down, heel flap do not fit my heel. Wide foot, narrow heel.
      Now forced to work cuff down I'm learning new heel methods. The short row heel recommended by Arne and Carlos fits ok on the foot, even looks ok there... I'm on the second Pairfect sock meaning I've not worn a pair... fingers crossed

    Hi, I just came across your channel because I was looking for sock patterns, so I decided to watch your review. I watch Arne and Carlos and thus is the second time I seen this yarn. I live in Canada and of course we can't get this yarn. Do you know where I can order this sock yarn? Great review and I'm subscribing to your channel and look forward to your next. Great job on your first video!

      Hello Wanda, thank you for the positive feedback. I live in Melbourne Australia. There"s a shop here called Morris and Sons. They stock it. Postage out of Australia is very expensive. I just had a look on Jimmy Beans (USA). They have a little. I would try some European online stores. Maybe Wollen Berlin wollen-berlin.de/collections/garne-nach-firma/regia . Good luck and let me know how you go.
