My best gift was when my husband proposed on Christmas Eve while we were on a lay-over in Dayton Ohio. Unfortunately he passed away April 19, a few months shy of what would have been our 50th anniversary. I miss him terribly.
Great question! The best gift I have ever received was a second chance at life! I came down with Covid 19 on January 5, 2021 and spent 8 months in the hospital, nearly dying 3 times (i'm told). I only remember one near-death experience: standing at the pearly gates, talking to St. Peter, turned to walk in... and my deceased mother put her hand on my face, pushing me back, and telling me it was not my time. From that point forward, I have improved daily. I am on oxygen, lost all my hair, and don't remember the last 2 years BUT...I am alive and grateful to be able to have more time with my family!
BEST SEWING GIFT: I was talking to my cousin out West about sewing for Christmas. I had taken the day off work to finish up my projects. 12/19/10. And wouldn't you know - big blizzard. Had to climb out the window because the door was drifted shut! AND the electricity was out for 24 hours. No sewing. Told him I was going to find a treadle so Mother Nature couldn't make me go to the store between Thanksgiving and Christmas ever again. My cousin lives in Oregon; I'm in Iowa. One night I came home from somewhere and there was a mother-beautiful WHITE Twigs treadle cabinet with a works-perfect treadle sitting on my patio. He had found it and drove it to Iowa in the back of his pickup. I LOVE IT! What a sweet thing to do.
The greatest gift is beating cancer. I came down with lymphoma in 1990 and survived. The experience made me value my family and friends who were there when ever I needed them to get me through the tough times.
The best gift I ever received was from my husband and kids for Mother's Day 22 years ago. My Mom had passed away a month and a half before that and they gave me a beautiful gold angel necklace to remind me of her.
My mom had all of the old videos (from the '60s) that my dad filmed of me, put on a disc and digitalized. Best gift ever, since there is no other way to watch old reels of film for me. It came in a nice gift box.
The best gift I ever received was on Easter 13 years ago when my daughter gave me a gift with a card that said happy Easter grandma. My first grand baby was coming in 7 months.😊
The best Christmas gift I ever got was from my grandmother. She had no idea who Hanson was, but she went out of her way to get me their Snowed In Christmas album.
I watched Sunday 12-3-23 Sewical Sunday. As always Bag Lab delivered great ideas. I think clipping and pinning a zipper pocket would be beneficial for any zipper pocket to keep everything neat, tight and attractive. As far as the best gift I have been given, is it cheesy to say my kids? I love them so very much.
I was given an antique herb crown that is identical to the one I saw in Warwick Castle. It was old and rusty, but I cried because I knew my husband had worked hard to find it!
I like giving gifts right away when I find something the recipient will like. I want to give it to them before someone else or they get it for themselves. As a result, my family exchanges only small gifts for Christmas and birthdays.
Best gift is coming up…we are going away on a mystery trip for 5 days with another couple. We wives have no idea where we are going and we leave tomorrow morning!! So excited!
The best gift I have received is the inherited gift of my parents Christmas tree ornaments. As I decorated my Christmas tree this season so many memories surfaced.
Best gift of Christmas has happen long time ago, we where allowed to pick up my dad from hospital (after few month there) on Christmas day morning to stay with us home.
Through the griffin door by the super Carlin brothers is a great podcast. I also love inappropriate quilters and how rude, tanneritos (a full house rewatch).
My favorite podcast is Think with Kris Boyd from KERA Public Radio out of Dallas, texas. She does a great job interviewing and has varied guests.. I’ve learned so much from her program.
Great way to install the zipper pocket zipper! I’ve used clips after making a bag to create the sharp corners. Now I’ll use them for the zipper. Thanks for the great tip! Love your show❤️🩷🧡🤎
Actually, there is one more. My birthday is December 25. One year my husband put a box under the Christmas tree wrapped in Silver Paper. (that's a song by Mountain) On top, he put a poem he wrote. "I know you will shake this after I'm gone. I know because your willpower isn't that strong. And so if you shake it, treat it like glass. And if you break it, it's your @$$" It was a new Singer sewing machine. I will remember that poem when I am too old to remember what I had for breakfast.
I had to give my hubby one early above his objections. He loves the red Christmas truck. I bought a shower curtain and mats set so he could enjoy all season. Lol. They were a hit.
I had to laugh when you were talking about gifts you wouldnt want to recieve. The first Christmas we were married, 1985, my husband gave me a garbage can with a step on pedal to lift the lid. He has gotten much better with gifts and we are still happily married.
About Christmas Gifts. My husband has been warned, if it's for the kitchen, it should have a piece of jewelry in it. Although now that he's retired he cooks as much as I do, which is awesome, so the old rule doesn't count anymore.
My hubby got Me EQ8. For Christmas this year early, it was on sale. I have wanted EQ for years. I also got an 27 inch all in one I mac. To use the program on. Just so excited to finally have EQ8. Have wanted it for years. So, now I can do my three passions Bag Making, Cross Stitch, and Quilting.
When I buy fabric I serge the raw edges then wash, dry, and fold around comic book boards. I slip modified Pendeflex hanging folders (glued together and cut off about 5" of length) into the little bolt, against the book board, and hang in my file cabinet. I love this system and it allows me to repurpose file cabinets as I have tried to go paperless!
My first time watching Sara and it was lovely! Thoroughly enjoyed it. My best present ever was actually my boyfriend (now husband) giving me an i-pod (yes, way back in the day!) I was so excited I blurted out that I loved him (had not said that before)... the rest, as they say, is history!
I have 2 best gifts, which were big surprises from my husband. One was an Overlocker and the other was an airticket to go overseas to see my Mum and Dad in the UK for Christmas. Thank you for all your insperation and kindness!
I do not pre wash. I do use my heat press with 50 percent diluted plain scented Mary Ellen ‘s Best Press. It seems to keep the fabric from shrinking as I later press my it. It also keeps the fraying down a little as I work with it.
Have you heard the "The Inappropriate Quilter" podcast? She does the dog face applique wall hangings and tries to teach others to design their own image with scrap fabric. She is really a character.

The best gift I ever received was my husband of almost 55 years.
Great zipper tip. Thnx.
Yummy! Right up my alley. Cookies and squares rock.
I typically don't prewash fabric. Good hints in this show. Happy birthday!
Best gift was a new stethoscope; I’m a vet tech and it’s so wonderful!
Best present I ever received was my first sewing machine at age 9.
I had to give my hubby one early above his objections. He loves the red Christmas truck. I bought a shower curtain and mats set so he could enjoy all season. Lol. They were a hit.
Pretty blue cats and gorgeous hummingbirds.

I prewash my fabric in warm as soon as I get it home. Then lightly press and fold onto comic board cards. Then store it.
I love you zipper tip you demonstrated. Merry Christmas. My husband gave me a year long bag making class last year for Christmas.

I always understitch the zipper pocket openings. It makes a nice crisp edge and is easy to press.
Totally forgot your show was on. Watching the next day from very snowy day from very snowy Nova Scotia.

Hubby uses thread locker all the time! He used it on my die cutting machine and it works well.

I am definitely going to have to try this method for zipper pockets when I make my next Tudor bag! Thanks for the tip!❤
I love that book and author. The Forgotten Garden
Congratulations to both winners.
Thanks for the great zipper tip. Happy Holidays to you all.
Hi, happy to be here to watch. If making bags I do not prewash fabric. If making clothing I prewash. It really depends on what I’m making.
My first sewing machine from my parents.
My mom gave me a kitchen aid mixer. I love it and use it weekly
My best gift was a Pfaff sewing machine years ago that my husband surprised me with
I pre wash backings. When I first started quilting, I pre washed everything, but no more. Pre washing the back but not the front works out just fine.
Love your demo on the zipper pocket. Game changer!
Hi guys, I truat you all are doing well and will stay stress free this holiday season ❤😅😊
I do pre wash dark backings for quilts. Not always the lighter colors.
Beautiful artwork and amazing powerful message
Great zipper demonstration.
