I know Larry has gotten to 300 before, and he didn't like it because he wasn't as lean and didn't feel as good at 315. Keep in mind he's not as lean even at 275, so it's not like he's competition ready doing these lifts, he still has the advantage of eating a lot. As long as they're similar weight it's not a disadvantage to be leaner. If you're very lean it is, but Larry is not very lean like a bodybuilder in these, just leaner than the guys he's competing against.

If your body type is best for conventional, you won't pull sumo that much. Long story short: sumo totally fine in comp.

I will say Both Benches in the 300s was on edge but Hause deadlift was 3 reds all day everyday. That left hand gave out and was heading to the ground. Sucks to know a record got took from judges making bad calls.
