  • As part of our road trip to Eastern Canada, we spent a few days on Cape Breton Island exploring the area. We saw the museum of Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone. We spent a day at a beautiful village called Baddeck on the island where we saw a Scottish evening musical program. The fiddle tune show at The Baddeck gathering Ceilidh was great. We then drove a section of Cabot Trail, anti-clockwise direction and made a number of stops along the way to check out local attractions. I really liked the road with so many curves, and would totally appreciate it if I were to ride a Hadley Davidson here. Alas! On a very positive note, we managed to hike the most famous Skyline trail after a couple of tries to enter the park because there were too many enthusiastic tourists trying to get onto the trail. Our whale watching boat ride was cancelled because of the rough sea waves. That’s not a big deal though! We spent the night at Pleasant Bay on Cabot Trail. The following morning on our way to Prince Edward Island, we stopped by Cheticamp beach, did a guided tour of Glenora Distillery etc. It is the only distillery in North America that produces single malt whisky.
