    So *that's* what actions do! Thanks so much Ben, I'm just realizing the potential of PS 👏

      They're so useful! I used to be so scared of them, but they turn really boring resizing or changing colour modes on 100s of images in a fun challenge and make me feel like an absolute hacker.

    That action-thing is such a useful technique! I just used it in an entirely different context and saved a lot of time! Essentially I tried to roto-fill something. Instead of tracing it frame by frame with a shape layer, I used actions to quick-select and fill it, which is something after effects can't do! You reminded me why I should never stop watching tutorials. You just always pick up something new.

    A few months ago I tried to figure out how to make a halftone effect because I couldn't find any tutorials that gave me the control I needed. I made metaballs in 1 comp, a gaussian blur on top, and a like 5000 dots aligned on a grid that all have a script that I found. All the balls either scale up on white, or scale to zero on black. It took my computer hours to render and I wish this existed earlier lol. Honestly cleverly thought out! I'd never have thought to use photoshop.

    Another way to do this is to render your normal animation out as a quicktime, then open it in Photoshop. You can "convert the video layer to smart filters" in the filter menu then apply the color halftone filter. Then render out the video!

      Sorry I should've been clearer in the video about this. You can render out your footage as an image sequence and run the Photoshop actions over those images :)

  • @birdsareprettycool631
    @birdsareprettycool631 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    There's also another way to get the color halftone effect, instead of using photoshop, if you have the sapphire plugin! the effect is called s_halfToneColor and can be found in the sapphire stylize window of the effects bar :)

    • @birdsareprettycool631
      @birdsareprettycool631 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you want the radial effect you'd have to use the displacement map along with the halftone effect..I think. I was referring to using the halftone color as an overlay but idk how to achieve the same radial effect as mr. marriot lol
