This is the No Russian Mission in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 called "Passenger". This is the spiritual successor to No Russian from Modern Warfare 2 2009 as this is the moment that No Russian is texted to everyone on the airplane including Vladamir Makarov.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is a first-person shooter video game developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. It is the twentieth game in the Call of Duty series, and third entry in the rebooted Modern Warfare sub-series, serving as the direct sequel to 2022's Modern Warfare II. The game is scheduled to be released on November 10, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Modern Warfare III retains the realistic and modern setting of its predecessors and continues the series' storyline. The story follows multi-national special operations unit Task Force 141 as they track down Vladimir Makarov, a Russian ultranationalist and terrorist planning to trigger a third World War. The game's multiplayer includes all 16 base maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) remastered, with new maps planned for inclusion post-launch. A Zombies mode built around an open world with a player versus environment experience is also included, making Modern Warfare III the first Modern Warfare title to include a Zombies mode. Modern Warfare III's campaign is set to take place after the events of Modern Warfare II and its post-launch seasons, and features a number of fictional locations introduced in previous Modern Warfare games, including the city of Verdansk, Kastovia, and the country of Urzikstan. The game's primary antagonist is Ultranationalist terrorist Vladimir Makarov (Julian Kostov), who was teased at the end of the Modern Warfare II campaign. Task Force 141 returns as the central protagonists, comprising: SAS Captain John Price (Barry Sloane), Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley (Samuel Roukin), Sergeant Kyle "Gaz" Garrick (Elliot Knight), and Sergeant John "Soap" MacTavish (Neil Ellice). Also returning from previous Modern Warfare games are: CIA Station Chief Kate Laswell (Rya Kihlstedt), and Urzikstan Liberation Force Commander Farah Karim (Claudia Doumit). Players take on the role of TF141 members as well as members of Makarov's private military company, Konni Group.

Don't get me wrong, it's a horrifying scenario. But MW3 2023's 'No Russian' can't hold a candle to the OG MW2 mission of the same name. Being forced into the role of a suicide bomber is disturbing. But massacring civilians to try and infiltrate a terror cell, only to find out they knew you were a fed all along? Infinity Ward knew how to craft a gut wrenching mission back then.
Agreed. But then again in light of things going on today, you can't have a mission where you as the player shoots up an airport.
@@andrewregard7250Fuck that. People are just offended by anything that breathes these days. It’ll be interesting to see whether GTA VI takes the piss out of that or not, since V tore everything asunder pre-2013
@@andrewregard7250yes you can…? We have had so many games with worse situations… in Original mw1 you literally see a nuke be dropped on your entire army.
@@limitlessapocalypse2702Those two scenarios are so completely different, I’m failing to see why you would make that comparison
@@TurboDong because its literally the same series of games with closely leveled catastrophic events. Ranges from nukes, terrorism, civilians being raided in Mw2-3 etc, to whatever mw2-3r have… no really they have been gutting the campaigns…
They knew they couldn't go to the lengths of the OG no russian mission lmaoo
We have No Russian at home.
No Russian at home:
They make too much money selling cat and bunny bundles only the OG’s know what COD use to be
😂
Ok, you hate it, don't play it. Stop barking about the hate. It's a reboot. Pronounce it with me, RE-BOO-T. It's not supposed to be the original. It's not supposed to have the same flair.
Edit: I may or may not have just started a third world war.
@@barrett.50caliberstill doesnt mean it should be lackluster and a walking sim with little to no interaction. Its should be better, it couldve been better.
Just remember in No Russian, Makarov never told us to kill anyone on that mission, we all just did it
If you don't, he kills you 😐
*Edit:* Nah I'm an idiot 💀
@@BobHairEnjoyerhe kills you regardless
@@BobHairEnjoyerWhatever you do, he kill you, there is no other ending, no other option. You kill or you don’t, but at the end it’s the same result
I was afraid if I didn't shoot at least 1 person they would know I'm a spy and kill me 😂😂😂
@@L0rd0fChaos Your worries was true. They literally kill you if you don't shoot :D
*Edit:* _"Were_ true" and I'm an idiot. They don't kill you, ugh.
The original No Russian will always be a disturbing mission, makarov ensures nobody speak Russian, for people to believe they’re US. Guns down a crowd of people then kills the playable character anyway because he knew he was a US informant. This seems dope but the original is still better imo.
Don’t forget the fact No Russian was actually gameplay, while this was a glorified Cutscene.
Or the fact that this didn’t lead to anything while No Russian literally caused WORLD WAR 3!
The original had much more shock value but this one is much more realistic
Yeah, the original mw series storyline is so much better than this trash, and the original Makarov was more intimidating and sounded more intimidating lmao
It actually got to me, watching people try to drag each other to safety was brutal
@@josetomascamposrobledano4618This is not the no Russian mission!
I knew the modern day devs didn’t have the balls to do it
Hey in modern warfare 2019 you kill kids do your research a little.
Stadium level was a terrorist attack
You play as soldiers shooting the terrorists, its not the same thing. But I suppose with the war in Ukraine this would've been tasteless in the current geopolical world landscape.
So is the remastered version of the original mission
😂😂😂 ikr
This mission is more cutscene than actual gameplay
The second mission of og mw1 agrees.
Welcome to modern gaming. Movie games have taken over
At least it’s better than not playing it at all
The game is 3 hours long
2 hours of it is cutscenes
Most of the game is cutscenes
70 dollars btw
@plaguedoctorjamespainshe6009 your lying - 3 hours??????
Meh. I miss the days when cod pushed the envelope
You can only push so much before it's too far.
@colvamoon6962 if you're a developer you can get creative. This just like all the remake maps is just pure laziness and I absolutely hate to say that cause I love cod.
@@colvamoon6962Thing is how far is too far
In fairness to the devs, there is literally no possible way they could match the initial shock value that the original No Russian created. This was very well done imo, but the original was on an entirely other level
I’d say a mission where a bomb is forcefully strapped to you on a plane with no escape is pushing the envelope.
What confused me is in the epilogue of MWII and trailer with this mission Activision made it seem like you were playing as the terrorists in this part like the original no Russian but instead you play as someone getting framed as one and as soon as you get a chance to shoot a civilian in your way you're magically out of ammo and are forced on the side lines to watch a cutscene they really don't want you hurting anyone in your way except for the bad guys they really don't want to push the bar on this.
Hell even MW19 did a better job at terrorism than this.
clearly you didn’t understand mw2, you were not a terrorist you were framed as one by makarov, exactly the same as what is happening here
@@DanLittleRVyou were framed as an AMERICAN terrorist. Your job was still to infiltrate Makarov's group as a RUSSIAN TERRORIST. The game left it up to you how far you were willing to go to keep from your cover being blown and THAT made a difference. Removing player agency for a glorified cutscene is NOT good game design.
@@astaroththedaeva9717 no, it didn’t, og no russian was still a glorified cutscene with 0 player agency and the exact same outcome at the end of the mission no matter your behaviour - try again
@@astaroththedaeva9717don't waste your time on Mr. Contrarian
No you can shoot civilians? (It restarted but still)
Honestly the prologue in MWII was better. Im not even gonna compare this to the og MWII
True. It’s more terryfying.
@@Zeyrox1829 the prologue and ending was better than mw2 (2022) but the whole game is not better than mw (2019)
MW 2019 London terror attack was muuuch more terrifying..
@@Zeyrox1829you mean satisfying
@@MohammedKhan-rq1pkwhat a strange thing to say…
I feel bad for kids today that didn’t experience the original MW3
i was barely conscious so i actually bought it 2 months ago
The original mw3 campaign was mid no? I cant remember much of it compared to mw1 and 2.
@@pear-zq1ujlol “mid”, better than this glorified cutscene fest. I’m done with COD till they step up
Mw3 was as much of a mess as this one. Game sucked ass compared to mw2
@@pear-zq1ujit was a masterpiece
Which surrpised me was not that we became a suicide bomber by force, but that the enemy gave us a unloaded gun
Because the people on the plane won’t know that. They’ll think they are danger.
@@ironchief_7094 yeah, true.
@@ironchief_7094okay, but why did others have loaded guns then? Why did just specifically the one you took down have an unloaded gun?
@@zackwalker1789 its loaded in the first part, but when you’re trying to get the phone it isn’t
@@ironchief_7094 oh, okay
2009 cod had balls
2023 cod has no balls
This mission feels like Sledgehammer trying to make an inoffensive version of the mission of the same name from MW2 2009
It was neat and all, but OG No Russian still beats this by 1000
Very glad I didn't pre-order 😂 thank you to all the brave souls who did and informed me ahead of time abt the worthless campaign!❤
wah wah wahh
Makarov done came out as a temu special 💀
Nah he's a product from Alibaba
Bro those air Marshall’s suck at their job.
they were in on it
If they were in on it, why did they kill the other hijackers/get killed by the hijackers?
@@ImRobin07they killed the urzikstan hijackers, then got ambushed by makarov's squad
@@TheMetaLRoacH So it was a double hijacking?
@@SevKast_7nope, it was makarov people who were pretending to be urzikstan soldiers to frame urzikstan for terrorist attack
The "No Russian" OG mission was terrifying, but this one is something different, being in the role of Samara carriying a bomb and not being able to get the phone to deactivate it is even terrifying tbh
Nah it's hilarious who cares about her
The Arabic here is all over the place. The text is in Modern Standard Arabic, her wallpaper is of a gcc family most likely Saudi, her dialect is of a levantine arabic. I only noted it out for education purposes.
interesting
Og=airport massacre
Reboot=airplane explosion
So basically elements of Mile High Club and No Russian mixed together
I was gonna say turbulence but that works
*GIVE ME THE PHONE!!!”*
Samara’s final words were deliberately haunting before she exploded because everyone failed to defused the vest
Honestly L mission
Almost the whole campaign is an L.
THE MISSION IS LITERALLY 5 MINUTES LONG....... the civillians in the plane are soulless you can't compare it with MW2's no russian NPCs you can't even compare it to mw19's The Embassy NPCs
They could've fixed this by making it filled with choosable dialogues that lead to different mission endings and making the plane more chaotic and more NPC interactions.
By different mission endings i meant
1. Plane gets bombed
2. Plane gets steered into a tower causing 9/11
BRO THEY ARE NOT REPEATING 9/11
@iam4026you guys realise that the phone/vest was a ploy right? The explosion comes from far away from the girl so that means the bomb was not in the vest
Dude it's 2024, it'd have to be steered into the Chrysler building
This isn't a mission, it's a cutscene
That Samara voice actor has to be the calmest victim of terrorism.
Absolute 0 despair.
Guess it’s good that the “Urkzistan” army is composed of mostly ladies cause Hadir definitely wasn’t a paragon of bravery.
All the characters had like no emotion
If she was a member of the Urzikstan army then I could see why she’s desensitised but I get what you mean
normal person could panic in that case, but she was former ULF so that why she calmed, i guess
we all knew they wouldnt have the balls to recreate the OG mission... not in today's generation
What a Shame! :D
I guess mw1 with killing kids didn't existed then it doesn't matter though. Cod was shallow and still is.
Can't do anything that might hurt the shareholders bottom line
@@Morbing_Timeexcept in reality it wouldn’t, they’re scared what the loud minority would have to say though they’re not the people who buy their games
You would think there would be more chaos with open gunfire on a plane.
People jumping over seats, parents covering their kids.
They could have made you feel something here instead they went for an action movie approach
They can’t kill kids in games man 😂
They barely got away with it in MW 2019
They didn't pull punches
They removed the punch altogether
the smile from makarov gets me every time🤣
There's more scuffle in 5:25 than with any of the villains in MWIII
I was hoping for more with the campaign honestly. They should’ve made the no Russian mission darker like the original MW3. The campaign too in my opinion just felt more of an extension to the mw2 campaign to be honest rather than something new. Was hoping for WW3
Wow really Activision. This is by far the biggest zero effort I've ever seen. If you honestly think thie mission is great, you are lying to yourself.
I thought this would be much better than the 2009 no russain,
I mean 14 years passed but then again this is 2023 so guess we cant have every thing we want 😔
The dude who was sitting next to shordi look like Myron from f&f 😂
This mission looks longer and much brutal in trailer. In the final product, 95% of this mission was cutscenes and it was soo short.
plot twist: The real civilians were juggernauts, these people are decoys. Makarov and co were hosed down once the plane landed
They watered this whole mission down big time wtf
Bring the old "no russian" mission back!!!!
The world is currently unstable boss.
Such gameplay will be inappropriate for Russia 😂😂
@@Player2bloodWho gives a damn about their feelings? "No Russian" should NEVER be censored.
Okay but Alex is hype glad he’s in the campaign again literally my favorite character from mw2019
Didn't he have a peg leg when he came back as a seasonal character? I'm just glad Farah is back
Finsihed the entire campagin and i have to say, this is the worst campagin of any cod, even bo3
It was horrible. Makarov is one of the best villains in cod history and he is so damn bland. The only part I even liked about this campaign was Farah.
When you realize the last good campaign of a Cod was Cold War...
BO1 will forever be the goat of all campaigns
I saw this i didn't like it personally i like the original better
This version of Makerov is too generic looking, whereas in the original trilogy, he just has the face of some you would want to punch and the look of your typical action movie villain
The fact he even got on the plane is insane
I couldve sworn the Orginal mw games had missions that were 5 to 8 minutes long but all i remember was mw2 training and hunter killer
I'm so glad TH-camrs paid money for this trash so I don't have to
And somehow all the phones magically survived and landed exactly at the crash site.
Ofc the new MW doesn't have the balls to make you an infiltrator in the terrorist group, just a camera to be thrown around in a cutscene.
The only people they managed to offend with this were the players.
1:48 that smile, Mutahar?!
this ain't to bad but the og left a mark on you man i get they can't remake the og no russian again (mw 2 campigan remastered from 2019) but they could have at least gotten close
bro this graphic looks like mw3 from wish its even worse than the original mw2
💀
Moscow music hall shooting.
They expect one of us in the wreckage brother
We live in the era where games like Ready Or Not can make the original No Russian look like Katamari Damacy, and *this* is the bullshit the rebooted franchise decides to feed us??
Say what you want about Makarov but he looks sooo good in that suit
1:40 it’s major Hassan!
Didnt know they added someordinarygamers to the game thats pretty cool
Games need to stop being cut-scenes and let people play the damn game.
Im sorry.. is that adler at the security checkpoint?
The OG mission is amazing, this one is crap.
I'm about to go on a rant here about the problems I have with this version.
It's not like the original and barely affects the story in any way, shape, or form. The original was important because it set up the events for MW2 and 3. I also like to point out the fact that every passenger on the plane is brain dead, because they are oblivious and make stupid decisions.
1: When the terrorist that was sitting next to Samara stands up, how did no one notice he had a gun. There was a person sitting in a row next to them and multiple people behind them. How did a single person not see him grab her by the arm with a gun pointing at her.
2: Why didn't Samara shout the terrorist had a gun while she was disarming him? This would have prevented a lot of confusion for the passengers
3: The passengers on the plane can see you gun down the terrorists. So why do they still think you're the threat?
4: When Samara has the bomb strapped to her and a gun in her hand, why didn't she drop the gun?
5: Why is God's name would the passengers attack someone who clearly has a bomb strapped to them!? In reality, I'm pretty sure people would want to get the hell away from that. It's stupid!
6: After the mission, they show video footage from passengers cellphones. I don't know this exactly since I don't travel, but don't they put cameras on planes? If so, then at least one camera would have caught the other terrorists and maybe Makarov. So his plan to frame a country for the attack has already failed.
I know the original isn't perfect either but it makes more sense than this!
When i saw a trailer few months ago i expected something similar with Modern Warfare 2 ( No Russian )
4:04 When I say something to someone, my father tries to listen to the TV.
Samara-Me
Makarov-my father
The civilian killed everyone by pressing the phone 📱
We cannot even compare it to the original MW2 No Russian mission since it's literally just a glorified custscene, even if we compare within this new trilogy, the Piccadily Circus mission in MW19 is FAR more better than this mission that is just a cutscene lol
Why would they even bother calling it No Russian if they weren't gonna go full boar with it?
if old IW made this mission, it would've been more than an interactive cutscene
Brother, IW made this
I haven't bought the game yet but is it like the old mw3? Does it bring missions from World War III or are they simple stealth missions like MW2?
Neither, don't waste your money on this crap.
Why didn’t she just try to wrestle herself free from that guy after Makarov jumps and jump out too to save the plane?
Plane would’ve crashed
I would say it good but no Russian in mw2 ( 2009 ) is so much better
Bring back the original mw3. Back when call of duty was at its best
Naaah, MW 2019 Piccadilly attack was much more realistic and terrifying. This one’s overly dramatised. OG No Russian is the undisputed king cos u didn’t expect THAT to happen.. Just like MW2019
I knew the developers didn't have the balls to bring back the original "no Russian" mission back, today's kids will never know how terrifying that mission was back in the day while you massacre innocent people.
Arena flashback is good though 👌
That one guy that filmed it. 3:10 Is actually crazy.
All they had to do was give her the damn phone 😂😂😂, This version of no russian sucks balls deep one of the worst remakes ive seen the original was chaotic and showed you the impact of your actions
When in the campaign is the mission?
Only a stupid and out of touch gen Z and millenial game developers can take an iconic and disturbing mission in its franchise, and give it a modern slant by making the mission not about terrorists, but an in your face "NoT All MuSlims Are Terries" MESSAGE.
GET OUT OF YOUR BUBBLES AND SAFE SPACES AND GROW UP!
the one game we’re cutscene actually better than gameplay 😅
You should make another video on all of the different choices available
If that was the mission then no wonder people think this game is shite
"We have No Russian at home" ass mission
1:21 - 2:37 I can't understand how big games like Cod that came out in 2023 have problems like misspelling, incorrect form words, inaccurate translation, and the written text is way too formal, like you can’t hire native Arabic speakers or something.
This new "no russian" is a joke, Makarov does not have personality as in the past. Even looks like Zelensky Lol
mw2023 makarov isnt menacing at all
this mission isnt anywhere close to being as controversial as the original, theres absolutely no need to skip this mission, whereas the og, its totally understandable if someone wants to skip it.
This doesn't seem any less tame than before I mean, you still killed hella civilians just you didn't watch this time
My jaw dropped when I played through this mission a few hours ago
Play through the original No Russian...
Because of how lame it was?
I wouldn’t say lame it’s more realistic to modern day society than the OG no russian mission
Man I see this and am like 😳😰
Why is that ULF Soldier strap to an explosive vest device?
The people on the plane go remember, no Russian
This is better than the original but ya'll not ready for that conversation yet
What’s even funny, is cod actually knows the economic consequences and benefits that will impact; I’m guess call of duty actually has marketing experts. One day this mission will hold more controversy then the original ‘No Russian’ mission from the original modern warfare 2 mission.
No chance. The only way it would get controversy is by being more extreme not less
No russian. Just rushed.
Hell naw bruh this shits the family friendly version
mass violence was still just as prevalent back in the days of OG MW, sad to see the devs nerf such gut wrenching story elements like the original No Russian to cater to this "new era"
You would think with the generation leaps in consoles/PC they could improve on their old work and not be limited anymore.
Instead a ps3 game was decades ahead of a depiction. WHAT HAPPENED
God I hate the new makarov so much
Xbox sx or ps5?
They ruined ‘No Russian’ with this soft ass approach, and I’m still somehow surprised that they still have no balls or guts
Why does Makorav look like that ?????
mw3 story sucks , just finished it...what a disapointement
