I love the fact about fire alarms, but... In 430 years, the first thing to break is the fire alarm? No decay of the walls, no leaks, no water damage, that all takes 1000+ years?

Isn't the narrator immortal? If so he was probably stuck in that room for millions or billions of years, until he stops thinking completely. Now that's horrifying.

To be fair in one ending the narrator is revealed to be an asshole and just messes with Stanley and his co workers by killing them and stuff

In one of the monologues during that ending he admits to only be existing during the times when there’s someone who can listen to him.

oh, way more than a millennium. skips go approximately from 5 minutes to 1 hour, 12 hours, 2 weeks, one year, maybe 430 years from half life of americium isotope in the fire alarm, maybe over 100,000 years, and so on. very roughly plotting this, we see the skips grow exponentially at 0.28 e^(2.8 x).
Pikamee presses the button around 15 times. By the last press, each skip was over a trillion years; over 250 times the age of the universe.
I'm estimating so it could be a lot less, but definitely several orders more than a million years.

@@foul8917 could be. I just took the time intervals and plotted them without much care and 1 trillion years was the final skip, but that's assuming the button follows an exponential growth, which it may not.
In 2 billion years the sun would have indeed evaporated all oceans and all killed all life on earth, but the temperature outside would also be like 400 degrees, plus that room has no right surviving that long in either case.
In the end, this is the steam reviews section of memory lane, who knows if this is earth.

I think that's the whole point of the joke. You're not supposed to press the skip button. If you do, you miss out on the whole emotional and existential aspect of this ending. My interpretation is that Wreden was subtly dunking on all the players who don't have the patience to sit still for 5 seconds and listen - people like Cookie9, who don't appreciate the comedy and just want to get through the game as fast as possible. You can tell what kind of player you're watching by how they interact with this ending.

It's a little funny how fast she goes from hesitating, to mashing the skip button without remorse.

Poor Pikamee, hopelessly timewarped ~2 billion years into the future, walking an endless waste of desert, when essentially all life on Earth has died out.
Comparing the Lets Plays of the "Stanley Parable" you really can see how far she came. Back in the day it felt like she is shy, quiet, maybe a bit insecure because of english being her second language. Which was totally fine of course.
Today she has a captive and entertaining personality. It feels like she has way more fun now. It's really good to see.
The relentless keyboard pressing really added to this.

The best part of this ending
This is more of a pet peeve but it really annoys me that in most playtrhoughs people don't pay much attention to what the narrator is talking about
At least they don't just spam the skip button at the first opportunity haha
@@TangoStar I think this whole ending is a joke meant to call out players too impatient to listen to what the game has to say. If you actually use the skip button, you miss out on all the commentary and emotion which makes the game interesting, proving that you don't really care and don't understand the appeal of The Stanley Parable.

It's kind of frustrating when streamers ignore the story in a narratively driven game and then end up being confused... I usually just click away from the stream when that happens
I feel you, I know it's entertain first but at times when you just gotta pay attention, they miss the mark on that one and made people frustrated about it
that's why you watch gaming youtubers like good old markiplier and jacksepticeye because you know they actually want to see everything. maybe to a fault, one of their playthroughs of this section was really long because they wanted to listen for as long as possible

Vtubers have lost favor with youtube, with several high sub channels being banned multiple times for no reason. It creates problems for streamers and the companies theyre in contract with. Not to mention having to deal with the broken DMCA system that can demonitize videos at a drop of the hat. Streamers are given less incentive to do anything on youtube.

@@billygoatguy3960 TH-cam's got a lot of problems, and I can see creators wanting to get off the platform. You hear a lot of shit about Twitch as well, so I'm not sure it's any better. Lets say it is just for the sake of argument.
But one thing TH-cam has over Twitch is the ability to play video. You know, core functionality of the sites. Twitch is and always has been an awful viewing experience. I check on it every now and then, but it never gets any better.

The point is the exact opposite. You're not supposed to skip the dialogue. The people who do fundamentally don't understand the appeal of The Stanley Parable. The game is all about thinking "what happens if I do X" and seeing what the Narrator does in response. If you just skip the Narrator's dialogue, the game becomes pointless. To me, Pikame's reaction just shows that she's not paying attention and is completely disengaged from what the game is trying to communicate.

why did pikamee changed her avatar to that generic type? Is none of her fans ever tell her that her previous shark teeth avatar is more unique compare to the others? I do hope she change it back because this one looks super generic and it losses her only specialty compare to the other vtuber

Shark teeth are quite literally a by the book character trait, there is NOTHING unique to it
Pikamee helped design this one and is very proud of it. I mentioned in chat once that I liked both, but preferred the original one, and it kind of broke her heart, because she really loves the Isekai Pikamee design. I apologized, and explained I liked both, to which she acknowledged that she can understand why people have preferences, but that she was just expecting a better response from viewers to her new design.
She does still switch back to her original look though too.

@@sorasky8 Isekai is a genre of novels, manga, and anime where a person is transported to another world. So Isekai Pikamee is like an alternate reality Pikamee. Hence why she'll still switch back to her original occasionally.
