      His ideas are more juvenile and nostalgic,yet also abstract and completely raw guitar playing. I prefer the old school floyd.

      He was PINK FLOYD ... They just became a trubute act after they ousted Syd 😣 The most gifted member of the band 😣 This comes after 30 odd year of listening to Floyd to realise amd was shown by my 14 year old son ... SYD was PINK 😍 Such a talent .. i cringe when i hear Floyd without Syd these days .

    The Syd Barrett PF were so mind-bendlingly warped and boundless in expression, its possible to get high as a kite by just listening! See Emily Play is quite literally a masterpiece of a song.

    The 60s ... what an era! Whether you like it or not, the level of creativity in rock and roll was astonishing. I personally prefer Pink Floyd after Syd Barret, but his contribution is undeniable.
    Not to be disrespectful, but the biggest lost of that time was Jimi Hendrix. He had the perfect combination of genius composition, unlimited creativity and unparalleled skill. I guess God wanted guitar lessons after all.

      @Jeff Urschel and @Jeff Stewart
      ... I think Syd may have even been one of the first to "beat box" ;p
      13:37/21:22 (however; Roger is the only one to have *raptor*'ed.)

    There never will be another Syd or another Floyd, & the "Man Who Fell to Earth" has returned from whence he came! They never disappointed an audience! So glad I was part of that scene, & lucky enough to see them a number of times at the UFO and other venues. Some of the greatest memories from the best decade of my life!

      I know I'm mad, most of us are a tad daft! You almost have to be to survive over 50 years in this business! The question that often drives me hazy is, am I, or are the others crazy?

    I always wondered what Pink Floyd would be like over the years if Sid stayed in the band. In an parallel universe...someday.

      I imagine Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett still healthy and staying in there would have still gone on to make beautiful and awesome super epics, which could have been anything from a fairytale version of Dogs/You've Gotta Be Crazy to a trippy version of something like Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells fully instrumental album.🧚‍♂🐕🔔🎶🎹🎸

    That's a gratuitously tough interview. Very contentious on the questions. That classical guy Hans Keller clearly doesn't understand rock music.
