- Sky News host Rita Panahi reacts to an “entitled” TikToker who complained about her college degree not immediately resulting in a six-figure salary.
Alison Johnson from Huntsville, Alabama began her TikTok rant by saying she has a “bone to pick” with America.
“People say, ‘get your degree’ but then they don’t talk about how you need experience,” she told viewers in a video filmed inside her car.
“The degree was the experience.”
Ms Panahi said the woman seemed to think a college degree means you do not need any sort of work experience.
The consequences of never being told no in your life
The consequences of being taught by activists and being told they are allowed entitlement 😮
I can't take a movement seriously when their spokesperson is a guy wearing a summer dress... it's like a monty python sketch
No. The blacks on the stage being led by the man in the dress is a consequence of their own ignorance? They simply aren't capable of knowing any better and will be led to the slaughter eventually.
As someone over 50, I laugh at these entitled kids. Then I realise, it was my generation that created these petulant monsters.
No, sounds like you didn't teach your kids properly, instill some values - not everyone is like them or you
@stormcrow3579 We don't have children for this very reason. I'm just observant and here to trigger people like you with a superiority complex. I bare witness to my generations failure to follow our parents' disapline. They were the last of a generation to understand what we are about to go through. Your patronising comment proves your arrogance & ignorance. CHEERS!
Raising children by neglect is a poor model to follow. It actually requires teaching and boundaries.
A college degree means you get the coffees and do the copying machine to start with
Have to say my children also think these 'adult children' are pathetic and uninformed, though I am late 60's (age not DOB :^)).
If people purposefully sit in front of your bus and impede not only your ability to make a living, but other’s ability to get to their job, you should not face charges if those people get run over.
Exactly, it’s holding someone against their will. It’s scary to have all those people keep you from even moving. When cornered people will freeze or fight. They can’t flee in this case without the fight.
when you prevent someone from leaving or going where the want
Thats technically kidnapping
Any half assed lawyer could make it happen
'I have my "literal" marketing degree'...Obviously, college didn't teach her that she need not use 'literal' in that statement. Unbelievable behaviour for a 5, oooops a 25 year old so-called 'professional'.
Yep, I think we have the reason she can't get a good job.

This young generation runs on FEELINGS not history or facts. They have not been taught how to reason. They only know what they have been told to think.
I love that she thinks a “business marketing degree” qualifies her to do anything.
I'd never hire her after a video like that.
She seems to think it qualifies her for an automatic six figure salary. Took me 18 years to get to that.
She’s got a marketing degree? What a great way to advertise herself to all those 80k+ employers.
Market research n she'd find out she's a clown 😂
😂😂😂
@INTELLIGENCE_Revolution seen clown cars with more intellectual capacity lol 😆
She's definitely ignorant. If you just got your "business" degree and have no prior experience, you have to start at the bottom and work your way up within a firm. You have to prove your worth a 6 figure salary. She just showed the whole world she's a self-entitled BRAT. Definitely wouldn't hire her even as an intern.

Most of them just seem to want attention and be known for something. It’s sad.
Exactly!
Have you looked at them? No way could any of them fight. They couldn’t fight off a mosquito never mind guarding the frontline of a battlefield.
That chick from TikTok cracks me up. Driving a $50k+ car, drinking a $5 coffee, talking on a $1000 phone, $80k in college debt, and thinks a degree is experience? lol.

Some people right love a thing to complain about, and then you see the smug ones in some of these videos and by god it just....its sore to look at.
They said the same thing in the 60s and 70s about the hippies remember? Every generation has the same exact group but with little tweaks to adapt to the time. Your parents hated your generation too.
We love Rita, she is just totally Awesome.
Thank you for bringing facts !!! Well appreciated.
She is great. So logical and funny
You people are just as stupid if not more ignorant than the people on the far left. Every one of her arguments contained a logical fallacy. The right has been waging a campaign to get the support of uneducated low intelligence idiots for 30 years just like the left. The right is winning in this😂😂😂
yes she is!!! jUST NOT ENOUGH LIKE HER!! cheers
The 25 year old grad is incredibly immature.
My daughter, now 25, graduated in 2020 at 22 with an undergraduate marketing degree from a medium sized state college in the Midwest. 3.1 GPA so she was solid but definitely not a superstar as far as her GPA went. She spent her 4 years in college doing Division 1 athletics, serving on student government, a few volunteer service projects, and she had two summer internships. She put big time and effort into pursuing those extracurriculars.
She was very well rounded and personable with an amazing work ethic.
She put on a business suit and showed up at the business school job fair every year starting freshman year and learned how to shake hands and talk to recruiters face to face. Senior year she accepted an offer from a Fortune 500 company that she met at that annual job fair.
She was off and running with that first job and has continued to build her career with a couple of promotions behind her already. She continues to live with roommates even after college because she knows it will be a little longer before her salary hits the six figures mark but she will get there!
The degree is only one part of getting into the job force - you have to create ways to get experience in soft skills as well. For many fields your GPA is not that important- work ethic, personality and MATURITY however are everything!
It's not often I accidentally click on a news video, & am pleasantly surprised after hearing a voice of reason for once... I needed this one👏

I have been wondering if this is how ancient civilizations disappeared.
Did they grow so prosperous that they started raising a few generations of spoiled brats that destroyed their civilizations from within?
I started at the bottom and worked my tail off for 42 years. College degrees for a lot of these "jobs" are useless, but execs need to own it too. Experience and common sense, plus a willingness to listen and learn, are paramount
"The degree was the experience" Hilarious.
Lucky if she keeps the serving job after rubbishing her employment !!
When I was a nursing student, one of my instructors was a highly educated nurse who NEVER NURSED A DAY IN HER LIFE! Obviously she was the last person we looked to for education and guidance. These folks with a university degree don’t seem to realize it just gets them in the door, and that is where the real learning takes place.
It's wild that some of these people go to school until their mid 20s and then stay in school to teach.
" If you can't do, teach" is a phrase we use in the UK!
with nursing being a professional qualification you will get a decent wage right out of the door, (ive just qualified myself) my first degree was useless though
@@ashfordj81 they make the worst teachers by far!
@@noblestsavage1742 nursing is a tough profession… if you do it right. Some don’t want to do the work so they decide to teach. But those who do that don’t realize that in order to be a good teacher you have to really know your subject…you can’t do that if you’ve never done the job. Believe me, being a student isn’t the same thing a# being an independent nurse…it takes years to become a good nurse. There should be a minimum number of years of experience required before you are allowed to teach. The teacher I’m talking to never nursed, even when her instructor job was over. She works in administration and is terrible at that job too. Degrees give you a ticket in the door, but experience is the best teacher.

I can understand the frustration of being in so much debt and not being able to get the job you think you deserve. What I can't understand is how she could have made it all the way through grad school with no one telling her that she'll have to start at the bottom! Some get lucky and have great jobs out the gate, but that's rare. No one wants to do the time and pay their dues. Those six-figure jobs want work and life experience from you- what could she bring to the table that would justify a paycheck like that?
Usually that "luck" is them being at the top of their class - not scraping through and being given a degree based on attendence.
"Dangerous, useless, moronic, idiots" 😂 i love her! Lol
The problem with the bus driver was that he was going too slowly.
👍👍 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Honestly I dont blame him. You know how hard it is to power wash leftist viscera from out of the wheel wells?
The first day I started my Degree, in the Engineer faculty, my lecture said 'When you graduate you will probably get a job at the very bottom in your chosen career earning about the same as a unqualified person flipping burgers. Use that opportunity in the coming years to get experience, note everything for the C.V. As well as studying for the most sought after industry standard qualifications, out of your own pocket if need be. After 5 years, you will still have your degree but with 5 years experience, and further qualified. Then you can go for the big boy jobs.
Yep, but youngsters nowadays think everything is owed to them, without working for it!!!
Yes, it’s good to work your way up and learn sought after skills, but if after getting a degree in Engineering of all things, you are only getting paid the same as a burger flipper, that’s BS
@@AngelaMastrodonato Depends how desperate people are for the experience in the short term.
@@05Rudey getting an Engineering degree is more difficult than learning how to flip burgers. Fewer people manage to get an Engineering degree, while anyone can learn to flip burgers. Companies shouldn’t exploit desperate people. Being desperate isn’t a virtue
I disagree with the idea that C’s get degrees. I absolutely believe someone graduating with a 4.0 should get paid reasonably well out of college, more than minimum wage, while someone graduating with a 2.0 in Engineering should accept a burger flipping salary.
Got the exact same message in 1981 1st year engineering, did ok.
Prue you are the first person who straight up told it exactly how it is ❤
That young lady screaming at the end her education experience was the EXPERIENCE!! is delusional and ridiculous!!! A college education/degree is NOT JOB/WORK EXPERIENCE!!! Work experience means you have actually DONE!! THE JOB!! YOU WORKED inside that arena!! NOT just learned HOW to do it.

Degree IS NOT experience. I'm in IT and I can tell you with 100% certainty that college doesn't prepare anyone for work in IT. Technical certifications are much better for IT but nothing beats experience.
The degree section was spot on. I've conducted so many interviews with recent grads or graduating seniors, and they bring absolutely nothing to the table.
Shes an idiot on tik Tok
The girl who was belly aching in her nice-looking car, drinking her 6 dollars Starbucks coffee is just blows up my mind!!! Where does this little spoiled brat get the idea that just because she has a college degree, she will automatically make top money after graduation? How can you go to college and not know that the only thing a college degree will do for you is that you will not be the person cleaning the toilets of you job. It is actually scary to see the young people being so entitled and act like society owes them. This is really insane!!!
They aren't teaching them the useful stuff. Most of them don't know that the degree doesn't equal experience. It just gets you in the door. She is surprised that she can make more serving than getting in on the bottom. That is what many have voted for.
Or to realize you need to start at the bottom and gain experience as you go. Sorry, college was not experience; you just learn how to search for information and then present it for a grade.
Psst, if you end up running your own business, you still might have to wash the toilet.

Great report!
When college degrees were "rare", they were worth a lot more. One could graduate college with a degree (or, gasp - a double major!) and expect to be more desirable to a potential employer than someone who didn't have a degree. Now, a degree is almost the norm. I know a lot of college graduates (of all ages) that are working at jobs utilizing far less than their potential. When I see someone with a degree nowadays, all that tells me is that they've been indoctrinated into the leftist agenda. The things being taught in colleges today is FAR more political than academic. Prove me wrong.
One of the Extinction Rebellion mob that stood in front of the bus , was invited onto GB news to explain why she did what she did . She claimed that there was storms and floods happening right now in Scotland , because of MMGW and thats why they were protesting . The host immediately rebutted her claims by saying , that storms and floods are not unusual in Scotland at this time of the year , because they have been occurring in Scotland at this time of the year for 1000s of years

After I graduated I started at the bottom. I worked for three companies for the next 40+ years and I only changed companies when my area was outsourced the first time and then the next time my area was spun off into a new company. During all that time I worked overtime, off shifts and crazy hours. I endured some rough bosses but mostly good bosses. Now, after paying my dues and working hard, suffering long commutes, often in bad, snowy weather I am looking forward to retiring soon. Life is hard and our colleges are not preparing the kids today. Also, I have two sons and both are working and both also took entry level jobs and are working their way up. Both have college degrees.

What an entitled generation of snowflakes we have today, never gone hungry, never sent off to War, never been homeless and expect to receive all the benefits of life experience while never experiencing life... If she was spouting the same stuff off in interviews, that’s the reason why she hasn’t been hired. College teaches theory, it doesn’t give experience.
In the years that girl was in High School and College, it never crossed her mind even once to do an internship, or even look up required job qualifications in her chosen field?
Why would she? She was undoubtedly spending her time in college partying, protesting, and helping create safe spaces and practicing being PC and memorizing all the genders, pronouns and arguments about social justice and politics thinking shes good to go with her degree omce she gets out, no need to get job experience, college is the time to let loose and AFTER college she'll settle down and get a super high paying j0b with her degree and get to live it up without having to do much.. thats what college is for right, pay all that money get the piece of paper and retire with a nice fat salary for showing up, dressing up nice and looking important

The last time I looked, a $80,000.00 degree in the equivalent of basket-weaving with no real-world experience is not generally considered a valuable hire or in high demand. Everyone and his/her dog these days has a marketing degree and only about ten percent of them can put together a coherent thought fresh out of university - those that can find a way, those that can't post videos.
That Bud Light lady has a marketing degree and looked what happened with that. Oops!

Alison Johnson, the young woman who has a “bone to pick with America” and ranting she is not earning the big bucks and insisting that her college degree is synonymous with “experience,” fails to realize that a college degree is not synonymous with experience. Also, that posting her complaint on the internet now tells the world who she is as a potential employee and the type of personality you will bring to your company should you choose to hire her. She has no common sense and is unable to able to understand the principle of cause and effect.
Would you hire her to serve fries after seeing that video?

Rita, when you remarked, what would happen to any man in a dress in Gaza, it made me wonder, what would happen to any woman with a dress that short in Gaza?
I'm a mechanic and some of the mechanical designs from 'Mechanical Engineers' on cars are so stupid, you would think a kid in pre-school designed it. Then if you dig deeper into where these designs come from they come from Uni students who have never touched a spanner or popped a bonnet. I picture some little pommy rich boy up on the stage receiving his Engineers cert , makes a guy wanna run up and slap him before his designs kill someone.

You don't start at 100 K unless you are in a very risky profession like a pharmacist where if you screw up you lose your career and potentially go to jail if you kill someone. You are going to start between 40 K to 70 K depending on your degree and how much internship/co-op experience you. Tech is on the higher side.
What shocked me is my company is based in a former Soviet Republic. We aren't even a generation away and the grads from the home country that apply act JUST LIKE AMERICAN GRADS. Demand to work from home, 4 days a week AND start at 100 K+ .

The fact that a college degree doesn't count as experience, shows how useless many of the courses are. With that in mind, it does make it hard to get hired where even entry level jobs where the college degree isn't really needed, but they require it anyway, will still want 1-3 years experience working in that position. In cases like that, the person is in a catch 22 situation where someone can get a degree, then in their town or city, find that every job listing that matches their degree, wants one or more years experience.
I guess it works as a filter to block a woke evil generation of graduates from ruining a company, but for those who managed to keep their sanity, they become collateral damage.
At one point, an engineering degree from a decent school that had ABET accredited programs was necessary to sit for the EIT exam (now FE). A much more difficult degree than marketing was nothing more than the key to open the door for a test which upon passing allowed you to officially begin as an Engineer in Training (of course there were other paths to the EIT and PE exams, but that was the streamlined version). Not that hard to believe that college is not experience (some exceptions related to industry research).
Another problem is even if the job does not require a diploma, companies rather hire someone with a worthless piece of paper. I took visual arts with the goal of doing animation, well i sucked compared to everyone else so the animation thing never happen. But now i work in banking and insurance and each time i interview they always talk and ask about my useless paper.. even tho the paper has nothing at all to do with the job its helped me alot which is stupid if the job itself does not require education.
A college degree curriculum should include actual experience. I agree.
