It is not a blank cheque. It is a responsibility. If the school fails to look after your child's safety and fails to educate your child you have every reason to seek vengeance. Usually through the legal system. Consider it to be part of the social contract between the government and the people. The government takes on the burden of education and the responsibility for safety. Should the government be seen to be failing or actively harming the children the citizens may reasonably conclude that the contract is broken and respond accordingly. France is no stranger to the citizens doing so. The English speaking world seems to have forgotten that citizens are meant to have minds of their own and the ability to calculate their own interests. That teacher was not screaming at any kids. And no one was being kicked out of the school or punished for their beliefs. I will say, that little girl is going to be a force to be reckoned with when she's an adult and she's going to do a lot of good! I love how she's able to stick to her convictions and use her voice!
