I literally made some stars out of blue an green sparklers few days ago This is just even more comforting to know they'll work Their the cheapest source of stars in my country and the colours are already moxxed
Update on my coloured stars, green sparklers are insanely bright, blue were abit lame but that could be bumped up with some sort of copper and the red stars look like tiny little flares being shot off All made with brand "party" (3ballons attatched to the r) sparklers
Yo, maybe kinda late But cam u give me some advise to make a explosion room so i can make thunderking like firework? Idk if you know how to do that But if you do i would like to know 😀
That was cooool. You'll have to take a look at a contraption I made up to launch coffee creamer in the air then light it with 3 little cremora pots. 14 pounds of coffee creamer launched in a 8" mortar with a tire beader tank pumped to 100 pounds. I pull the dump valve to launch the creamer then once the creamer is as far as I think It will go ,, hit the 3 little creamers to light the cloud . Search great balls of fire with creamer . Enjoy 😀
@@MakeAndDestroyFireworks I don't usually mill them. I carefully remove the pots from the cup and break them down to a fine but still coarse grain size (0.5 to 1mm) The bits and any powder I get is then added into my cut star comp. I then use hot prime. I have also hot primed the bits and used as microstars
@@MakeAndDestroyFireworks I use dextrin and 70% isopropanol rubbing alcohol btw. You might want to experiment because I have found different companies use different chemicals. Not all strobe pots are made the same.
That last one was awesome! it looked like dragons breath. i tried making a bootleg 3 inch nishiki kamuro shell one time, i really like the effect on those how the dim sparks just hang in the air forever. I made some really promising stars from just fine charcoal, gunpowder and dextrin. they burned just how i wanted them but when i crafted the shell and fired it. it had a nice report but hardly any sparks... it must have gotten moisture in there somehow and ruined every star even though they were perfectly fine before hand. I think what happend was i quickly made a couple more stars when i realized i was short a few for the shell and i got impatient and didnt let them dry long enough i guess, i should've tested them again before putting them in there because that would've told me if it really was a moisture thing or something else like maybe the stars not having enough prime or structural integrity. Its crazy how 1 little thing can ruin the whole firework! But anyway great vid!

Priming is the process of coating stars in Black Powder (BP) to make them easier to ignite. Without priming these sparkler stars would have a hard time igniting, because of their high metal content.

I have 2 questions:
1. How do I make or get prime?
2. Do I need Prime to make the stars?
Lol, I thought I was the only pyro who did this on a regular basis.... great job brother!
I also make stars with small flashing strobe pots
Do you mill those and roll/cut stars or? 'Cause I've had that idea long time ago but still haven't done it

Put them in a shell to see the effects when the shell bursts and also add regular stars to compare the effects
Next time I make these ;)
Will it work without the dextrin???

2g bp, thin layer of wadding (not too much or not all the stars will ignite), more wadding or a tight cardboard disk. In this order.
Add Ti powder to your tiger tail stars and see the magic effect .

What did you prime them with? Which prime? Did you add charcoal to the star composition?
they are primed with black powder

what do you use as a primer ?
Plain charcoal or black powder perhaps
Can you put these stars in a shell or rocket? I would really like to see that 👍🏻
You should open a big rocket put big and small nes inside its going to be epic

Composition that lights easier than the actual star composition. That's why it's 'primed' on the star surface
