@@list25 common Mike why don't you like horror movies it's the best movie genre there is. I'm not scared that easy by horror movies. Some are even boring as hel like the Exorcist, The Blair witch project and the Poltergeist. I felt asleep while I was watching them. Because they where so boring. Even the Teletubbies are scarier then those 3 movies. But I simply love Slasher horror movies. Like Child's Play (I think Chucky is cute), Friday the 13th, A nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween... The original one's of course. Not the lame remakes. And of course my all time favorite horror movie franchise Saw. I simply love the blood and gore in those movies. The only movie that really scared me is The Ring. I couldn't sleep that night.

The scariest thing about Candyman was its being shot at the now-demolished Cabrini Green housing project in Chicago, one of the most dangerous locations for urban violence at that time.

The bookshelf falling over in "Ghostbusters" wasn't actually a mistake that was kept in the film. But one thing that is true is that the original librarian ghost prop was deemed too frightening and was recycled for "Fright Night" (1985).
Also, the technical director of "Toy Story 2" was named Galyn Susman. But yes, if it wasn't for her working from home, the entire film would've been lost.

Several of the scenes in the movie Gone Girl were actually filmed in the town where I live in called Cape Girardeau Missouri. Idk if the bar made it into the movie but they redesigned a bar downtown for the movie and actually changed the name for the movie to The Bar. That's even still the name of the bar. A couple other movies shot some scenes here also which is kinda cool.

The filmmakers of Ferris Bueller's Day Off used The Beatles' Twist And Shout recording without permission from the surviving group members, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr and the Lennon estate. Although they got permission from Capitol / EMI records. The scene propelled the single back into the charts at a respectable no. 21, not a bad for a then 23 year old recording.

My god, I can’t even begin to imagine Belushi and Murphy as original Ghostbusters. I’m so thankful for the cast members who actually ended up getting those parts. It would be an entirely different experience otherwise. Murray’s performance alone within that franchise could serve as a comedic/improv masterclass.

The last Blockbuster you are referring to was the one I grew up going to, in Anchorage, Alaska. It was effectively on the corner of DeBarr Rd and Boniface Parkway, but it finally closed down a few years back. I think the last one left is in Australia somewhere? Cannot confirm though, I’ve spent my whole life in the bitter cold of the Great North.

Great Video, Mike. Loved #1 about where Easter Eggs originated. Also, I am completely in agreement with you about horror movies. I just don't understand why anyone would enjoy being scared. Or why a person would watch a movie knowing that it was going to have them nearly jumping out of their skin and possibly causing them to have nightmares about it afterwards. Just seems like the emotions/physical effects that people say they experience while watching those types of movies are something I would generally like to avoid if at all possible. Anyway, it is great to have you back with List 25 and providing great content again. Have a great day!

Something my Film Genres teacher and I noticed( I was a mature student) was that some movies, were missing KEY scenes? ALL had gone under the film splicer again. The Heart is a Lonely Hunter ( which won the lead actor Alan Arkin (?)an Oscar) had numberous scenes cut( tragic) everything you wanted to know about sex..but was afraid to ask ( lost the absolutely BEST scene of the movie) so did the ending of Victor/ Victoria.😢.Both of us remembered scenes from Night and Fog ( Holocaust documentary) we both remembered the same scenes, that were deleted.( it's worth the money,to get " the Criterian Collection". )The scenes deleted, appear in the criterion collection.( not the mandella effect, but butchery by the company releasing the film.)

In "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers", Viggo Mortensen's yell of anguish after he kicked an Uruk-Hai head was genuine, but not for the reason you think. Kicking it broke his toe. The scream he lets out was real, so it was kept in the film, with fans thinking "Aragorn's upset that his two comrades died". But really, Aragorn was in pain because Uruk-Hai heads aren't soccer balls. Also, Orlando Bloom broke a rib after falling off a horse, and Viggo chipped his left incisor tooth due to taking a sword to the face. John Rhys-Davies, who was Gimli, was allergic to his prosthetics, so he could only wear them and work every third day. He also played as Treebeard in the movies. Sean Asten cut his foot open while playing as Sam at the end of The Fellowship of the Ring when he got into the water to chase after Frodo. A piece of glass went right into his foot and he was eventually taken to a hospital for it.
With how many injuries that happened on set, I really admire the dedication that all of the actors had for it. Oh, and Martin Freeman has a whole montage of him flipping the camera off during outtakes for The Hobbit.

That is insane about Candyman! That movie was super scary to me when I was a kid, and still probably would be. I don't get scared too easily by scary movies but that was one of them and now it makes sense why it was so riveting, they were super dedicated to the authenticity of the movie and their roles. I mean $23,000 for bee stings inside of your mouth, woah 😨😳! That is pretty brave and crazy at the same time

The writer and director for Hostel, Eli Roth, made a documentary about how some people are wired differently in the brain mostly focusing on how can people can be convinced to do horrible things like the holocaust in World War II. He had his brain scanned and, apparently, he is a functioning psychopath. He doesn’t have the making of a serial killer but he lacks empathy when it comes to large, horrible events. It’s probably why he could write and direct such a disturbing film.

For Ferris Bueller.... imagine the twist scenario of Fight Club applies to FB Day Off? Ferris isn't real. He is the Alter Ego of Cameron. All those things Ferris does is really just Cameron being crazy. Just like Sloane yells while he is singing " you're crazy" then he jumps down and joins Sloane in the crowd, she asks, " what do you think he's gonna do after graduation? " Cameron says, " he's gonna be a Fry Cook on Venus!" Meaning Cameron is going to have to grow up and leave his crazy, brave persona of Ferris behind him by sending him far away to a place like Venus. Cameron goes catatonic at the pool when Sloane tells him they are going away to different colleges. Cameron uses a silly voice to talk to Principal Rooney and begs Ferris to take over which he refuses. Forcing Cam to groan and use the " Sloanes father " voice. There are several scenes where Cam/Ferris seem to interact but if you think about it? It's really just Cameron. Think about it....or don't, I'm just some guy..

Fun fact regarding The Matrix: It was actually largely inspired by the 1995 anime movie, Ghost in the Shell, which has also become a cult classic.

Ok….notifications set to ALL. BTW, I don’t like horror movies too….and I have all of the extended LOTR and Hobbit movies too. I can’t wait for Avatar the new version. First 3D movie that I have watched and wanted to immediately watch it again……Was he serious about not liking Rocky Horror? It’s great!

Here's a fun fact about a movie that has yet to be made. John Belushi was supposed to be in a film called Atuk but died before the starting. The role then went to Sam Kinison but he died during a car crash. Than John Candy passing halted the production. 3 people who have survived the curse were Will Ferrell, Carl Weathers and Jon Lovitz but they haven't officially quit.

Now you're talkin' MY language! I've loved movies and movie memorabilia since I was a kid. And that was a lo-o-o-ong time ago. The first movie I saw in a theater was a '50s revival of Disney's "Snow White". I'm kinda embarrassed to admit that I haven't seen three of these in your video.

I regularly do FULL chronological rewatches of star wars. By full, i don't just watch the movies, i watch the tv shows too, including jumping around the first 3 seasons of the clone wars and also season 7 with episode 3 revenge of the sith.
Ps i hate realistic horror movies as well (however some horror comedy and supernatural horror movies are ok)

Dude! Hangover was great. Even my sister who hates , abhors and detests that sort of film was rolling.
And for anyone who’s served in the Navy before the mid-90’s…. We’ve been there. 😊

That was interesting that Affleck would wear a Mets cap considering the Mets beat the Red Sox in the World Series.

I love Horror movies and monster, Aliens, mysteries , but Horror is the bestest. I was afraid when I was young , but I got brave when I got older . Now they are the bestest.
