    Thank you. This worked for me. I used h945 transistors because I salvaged them off an old computer mouse. One note... try to keep leads as short as possible. This design may not be perfect but it sure beats the cheap Chinese line tester I bought.

    Great video.
    If you added additional led’s at the other two resistors, would the three led’s act as a make shift signal strength meter?

    Oh come on now, this is a perfect video on how not to solder! I have seen this circuit many times advertised as a ghost detector, a darlington transistor array with antenna sensor.

    Thinking of building, do these require current flow in wire being tested?

    Hi. I made this with bc547, but led is always on. But, when I touch negative or positive terminal, led just turn off, and all circuit start working OK. When detect a phase, led start to lighting...

    Hello Friend. Is there any scheme to emulate the sound of a rc model motor with a small speaker connected to the output of the receiver to the esc? Something that mimics sound like a motor glow? It serves as It serves as a suggestion for you.

    Your video is great but I will detect micro voltage Dc (0,5v) how can I adapt your system?

    • @vanillagorilla6990
      @vanillagorilla6990 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you cannot use the system above to detect dc voltage. dc voltage creates a continuous current in one direction. Without alternating the direction of the current the magnetic field will not change and the result is no voltage at the detector antenna (or inductor if you will).

    My circuit is working but I think it is fack because when I touch the antina led glow and it work just like a transister switch so when we touch entina near to wire it work as touch switch it not detect a phase wire ,,,,,, if you know I am right then give me a answer

    its not stronger, its just different topology, the pen tester is capacitive circuit and your (rather poor) assembly is inductive circuit, very different. Also the circuit you show has notoriously poor sensitivity.

  • @lumpyfishgravy
    @lumpyfishgravy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry but this is missing the point. The key is to design a tester with a specific THRESHOLD that is stable against battery voltage, temperature, mains frequency, etc. And if you build 100,000 they all work the same.

      It must be in a plastic insulated box otherwise your hand will act as an antenna and cause the device to detect radio signals.
