Note - I have since learnt that these small pipe cleaners are actually what pipe cleaners used to be - and it is likely the materials used are higher quality than in 'normal' pipe cleaners. That being said I still feel there are enough people like myself who would be anticipating a usual craft store pipe cleaner in a craft store - and the people who are looking for the traditional ones might not expect them from that listing either - so it might benefit the company to make it clearer in the listing
Being an ex pipe smoker I used those short pipe-cleaners all the time and was "offended" that the chenille versions were called pipe-cleaners when they first came out. The real pipe-cleaners - the short ones - are far more durable and take frequent bending more readily than the weaker chenille version. Also the shorter bristles grip more easily and allow for thinner, stronger armatures. Great series; keep on reviewing things. We need more personal opinions to help us keep informed of exactly what is out there. Tobias.
I have used the small pipe cleaners for cleaning a real life pipe! I had to search to find them at a smoke shop. I agree with you that there should be better descriptions for pipe cleaners, they seem to be standard but oh nooo. I am learning so much from your video's please keep them coming. Right now I am trying to make a stick figure and I am having trouble getting the arms and hands thin enough. Do you have any tips? (The movie "Fanastic Beast and Where to Find Them" has a little stick figure that hides in the main guys pocket. He is what I have in mind).
Thank you, I am glad I made this video as I am learning so much, its fun. Ohh really thin can be tricky. I know Sarafina has something I think its called 'tacky wrap' I havent used it but she seems to use it to wrap and stick fleece onto a wire and not actually felt it - I imagine glue stick might have a similar effect. Or just really carefully wrap a very thin bit of tops as neatly and tightly and you can and felt very carefully - its will be fiddly - but I am sure the end result will be worth it
Caroline K - for some reason its failing to comment on your comment but Thank you - I will check those pipe cleaners out. You are right the WOW ones might work for teeny fingers and toes, thank you for the idea
