This is beyond phenomenal! It’s a Celtic Folk Reel performed with the skill of Classical Musicians, the Soul of American Jazz and the power of a Punk Sea Chanty!
There are moments when it feels like it’s building to a chaotic frenzy, then then dynamic pulls back, or the instruments just drop out. And you have to face the fact that this is an extremely well oiled and well rehearsed machine!
This is just ridiculously good! Kudos!

Well, I sure did want to sail away after hearing and discovering Malcolm Dalglish and his fabulous group. Remembering about 10-15 years ago when I first came across them at a performance at the Concord (NH) Music School. What a treat that was!! Then just yesterday I took out the 2 CDs I bought that night (yes, I still have those) and played it one Bose....and instantly went 'sailing' on the sweet melodies of the Ooolites. Thanks for keepin' the music alive. We sure do need that!

Let's acknowledge the original from Uncle Dave Macon (1927), on which
Malcolm based his version. "Don't you rock 'em di-de-oh." Search TH-cam: "Sail Away Ladies Uncle Dave Macon."

You don't happen to have a video of them performing A Psalm of Life, do you?

I was looking for that song too! I had the privilege of working under Mr. Daglish when I was a child & all of the songs I learned recently got stuck in my head again so came looking for them.
