It was because of you that I realized Ruger came back out with one this year! I have always wanted one! I have a Ranch version, and tried for years to find the original folding stock. Years ago I found one for $800 and had to pass on that. Now I have a new 2024 model thanks to you! :) Thank you! That was a big deal to me!
My FFL Dealer here is a small rural town in Georgia is amazing. Whenever I transfer through them, I always buy ammo or a mag or whatever to make the paperwork a little more worth their while. So, they got all excited when they saw this rifle and while I was filling out paperwork, I heard some great stories. I asked if they had any Mini-14 magazines? They brought out the old box from behind the counter, and I scored a really cool 20 round mag that was stamped "Restricted Law Enforcement / Government Use Only" from Ruger, and then an old US made 30 round mag, Not Ruger, but we'll see if it runs. :)
I bought a little over half a dozen Ruger factory 30 rounders and had them cerakoted by CCR, ( not the band. 😉😋😁). One of the colors they offer generally matched the matt stainless of the rifle. Extremely tough, yet smooth finish. It was about a six month turnaround on refinishing all the mags, but well worth it!
Super cool! Always loved mini-14. I had one in the 80’s. Finally sold it because it was of the accuracy. Mine never had a jam or misfire. I love the safety, very ambidextrous. Same with the mag release. I may pick one like you have because I loved The A-team. I got some PMC in the 80’s when it was first imported, that stuff was HOT! I’ve seen pictures of South American countries using them.
Speaking as someone who owned a couple of the originals (including a series 180 and 181) I don't think you would be disappointed with this most recent generation.
I picked up one of these tacticals earlier this year as they were initially becoming available. It's a great shooting little rifle. Fit and finish is perfect. Reliability has been 100% from the start. The only minor issue the rifle had on its second outting was the large diameter slotted screw on each side of the wood stock, worked loose. A dab of blue loctite resolved that. I had initially started with 55gr Federal 5.56 which ran fine, but wasn't grouping quite as well as with my mid-80s Mini. I tried out some 62gr Federal .223 fmj and that was the ticket. I souped the Mini up with a Samson Hannibal rail and PB sling adapter, Vortex Defender red dot and finally, a Blue Force Gear custom sling. Seven, 30 rnd Ruger factory mags cerakoted in a matt-stainless finish rounded out the whole package. ( And yes.. I religiously watched the A-Team growing up! 😁)
I like the gun, I just wish it was closer to the actual A-Team version. The A-Team gun did not have the GB bayonet sight, and it was not an AC556 like many claim. It was a standard ranch 18.5" version with a M14 style muzzle device and a folder stock. This muzzle device is no longer made, but there are some near clones. The A-Team mini also had the front sight at the muzzle device. The one reviewed is cool, but if I was building a clone I would get the Ranch model# 5817 with the 18.5" barrel in brushed then purchase the Samson stock separately. Then source an M14 style flash hider or have one made to match.
Great video, well appreciated Misha. I’m in my late 50’s now and I was never in love with the Mini-14, the only variant I did like was the GB variant and I stumbled onto one in a pawn shop a few years ago and snatched it up for $700. Turns out it was a former Texas DPS prison gun (185 series) and it was in near new condition! Like many watching this video, I loved the A-Team as well and I also ordered a Sampson folding stock, this is an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. Pretty sure that the Sampson stocks will out of production one day and become a collectible item on its own and the price will nearly double as soon as production stops. I tend to collect battle rifles or rifles that were designed to mount a bayonet. Guess I’m that way since I’m a retired Army Infantryman and enjoy quality rifles.
I'm glad Ruger came out with this. I already had jumped on the Sampson stock earlier for another gun. This repro only deviates from the original with the barrel profile and cheaper rear sight.
Shipton’s Big R store in Billings had a special sale on Ruger Mini14 Tactical rifles about ten years ago… $300. I bought several. I see they’re now about $1,500. I installed harmonic balancer on one… At 200 yards, it groups about 2”… plenty good for me. I also have an older GB model I bought from a cop in Cheyenne about 25 years ago. It’s a great looking piece of crap.
Ive never even held a mini, But I would like the Blued with wooden stock version some day. Sadly, they cost as much or more than even higher end AK's which are my main squeeze so it always manages to get bumped down the list. lol
The Misha Team. Misha as Hannibal. Fox as Faceman? I can't remember the other guy that used to be in the vids a lot. So either him or maybe M26 Lemon Grenade as B.A. That still leaves Murdock open. Maybe Klayco47?
I may be wrong, but I don't think the A-Team used GB models. The pictures I've seen (I did watch the show also) doesn't show the sight/bayo or proper GB flash suppressors.
NEED A 6.5MM GRENDEL WITH A HEAVY 22"BARREL STRAIGHT FLUTED BARREL AND BE ABLE TO USE THE AK47 MAGS AND HAVE A SIDED SCOPE MOUNT LIKE THE ROMANIAN PSL AND THE AK47
I made some good handloads for mine. 3100 fps, but the rear of my bolt is getting some metal rolling up. Can’t find where it’s happening. Inside of receiver looks fine.
Nope, Ruger company documents refer to it as Gov't Barrel, which makes since considering it has other unique features like a threaded muzzle, flash hider w/ 22mm launcher, and the protecive ears on the front sight base.
Is it just me or is this guy seemed blind for partially blind it seems like he feels a lot out with his fingertips a lot like he's using his hands to see the gun I don't mean any disrespect by that it's honestly kind of cool if he is

@@bfgivmfith I just had some OEM blued 20 rounders come in too. Probably keep a couple of those so i have a half dozen mags for this rifle.
As someone that grew up watching the A-Team, I want one of these badly.
I wish there were more stainless steel mags available. Really brings the A Team vibes together.

Me too and honestly made a couple nice improvements.
The Mini 14 was the first center-fire rifle I owned. I paid $175 for it new in late 1977 and it gave me years of fun.
I love it when a plan comes together!

Yep, bill hated us. A 13” with a tail hook adapted to the Sampson stock would stack a waiting list a mile long.
a 13" would be great, agreed.

Misha: "Which Mini-14 is kind of your bag? Or are you just AR15 or AK?"
Me: "Yes."
"ooor not" lol, this is my all time favorite rifle
M7 Bayo Is My Choice 😀😊👍🏼 Misha So You Added a Ruger Mini 14 Too The Collection 😀
I’m a huge Ak guy but I bought the same rifle.. I carried one in my correction officer days
Good stuff as always
Cool video Misha. Shot entirely outside.
Oh trust me, my 2 sweated through shirts definitely noticed that outside part hehe ;P
It’s cool until you see the price, I’ve handled them they aren’t worth it. Only my opinion
Mishaco on that jazz again…
Hey, when its stickly, I don't like getting a ton of guns out to clean lol
Kinda wish they should a stock just like that but have a pic-rail at the end.
Overall a very cool gun and I want one.
It was slow to return to battery but the shooter was the one ejecting the unfired rounds.

That gun is sweet. Wish i could afford one. Thanks for the video
A pinned and welded model would be sweet
6:17 the sound of a tree dying. Y’all got a berm? 😂
Better, an entire mountain, which is all private property so no one's on it.

I've got an ar 15, an AK 47, and my recent mini 14 with the folding stock and haven't shot them yet. But soon.
That is a beautiful rifle you should keep it.
NEED A 6.5MM GRENDEL WITH A HEAVY 22"BARREL STRAIGHT FLUTED BARREL AND BE ABLE TO USE THE AK47 MAGS AND HAVE A SIDED SCOPE MOUNT LIKE THE ROMANIAN PSL AND THE AK47
How many convects do you think we're dropped in the yard from a gun tower???? Seems like it was a favorite with various Prisons.
Oh I always thought GB stood for government bayonet ! Guess I was wrong !
I like both the blued and silver look. Which do you guys like better.
I made some good handloads for mine. 3100 fps, but the rear of my bolt is getting some metal rolling up. Can’t find where it’s happening. Inside of receiver looks fine.
Deus em primeiro lugar mas agradeço muito a ajuda de quem deu a ideia pra ser fabricada essas armas e a vitória dos justos
Wow I always thought "GB" STOOD FOR government bayonet - guess I was wrong ! lol

Are they any more accurate than the older ones? Mine was winute of basket ball. Cool gun, but frustratingly un accurate. Traded it.
I want a mini bad. Went to get one a few weeks ago, all I could find was the black polymer version. I want wood
I think we all want wood right?
😂This rifle kinda makes the bayonet relevant again. Judging from how well it ran.
lol you aren't wrong heeh
❤
I hate the rear plastic sight
In the 90's I saw some in Sheriff's vehicles in Washington State. I believe some were sent to Africa for anti poaching efforts?
Ranger green or black strap. Just send me that one, and i'll find a use for it.. You're welcome
Where can I get the knife from for the bayonet?
Is that his office chair?
Of course not!...its my wife's lol
@@misha5670 lol
I feel like you would be hilarious on the Unsubscribe Podcast..
Do they have that stock for the mini-30?
why are u looking down the sites?
A left-eyed right hand shooter?
Never wear black if you’re gonna be outside for a while on a hot sunny day right?
Except, I like black. Its the colour I most commonly see.
@@misha5670 lol
Nice but not worth the price, especially not in that configuration.
Your gonna get sunburnt I told you to lube up
😆 Coppertone
Jerry was all lubed up behind the camera
Watch out for ticks.
Ticks should watchout for me
You do good for a blind guy. 👀
Mini 30
Is it just me or is this guy seemed blind for partially blind it seems like he feels a lot out with his fingertips a lot like he's using his hands to see the gun I don't mean any disrespect by that it's honestly kind of cool if he is
He is
What a coincidence
