    With the stock seat, after 2 hrs I was done. With the Seat Concepts I can ride all day. Long live the mighty DR650

    Thanks for the honest review. I tried a Seat Concepts standard on my DR650 and it did not make a $325 improvement. Ass was still sore in 40 miles. I got lucky and scored a used Corbin seat for $50 and it is actually a great improvement. 200 mile days are still a grind but I get an extra 30 miles before I have to stand up for relief.

    Good review, I like listening to you ramble on as you were going over how you felt about it in your mind in real time. I am in the process of ordering a 2023 and I will probably end up with a Sargent seat as I did on my Super Tenere. It was hard as a fucking rock too, but the shape of it worked for me and I could ride all day. Some days were well in excess of 1000 km. In 2017 I did a loop from AB down through Yellowstone and Colorado to Moab. Then west through Nev and Lake Tahoe to the coast just outside of San Francisco. Took that north along the ocean, up through the Redwoods, Oregon and Wash to BC and then back home.

    Agree I had-a go at doing my own seat upgrade. Pro cycle kit . Foam and gel option. Cost me around 300 Australian now I see there even more expensive now. Only thing I had to do was borrow a air staple gun from a friend and it’s the best thing I’ve done for the trusty dr650 . It’s pretty easy just start from the front then the back and then do the sides . Compy as . I am 120 kg and the seat is simply awesome.

    I have 2.5" Rox risers and Renthal Fat bars and the stock cables are fine. If you want you can take the tank off and re-route the carb & clutch cables by pulling them back and running them on the opposite sides. clutch on the left and carb cables on the right. That will give you some more slack if required. You can also have the trottle cables enter the throttle from the bottom by rotating the throttle tube upside down.

I'm going to take it to my local apolstry guy see what he can do first. Also what brand is your back fender rack? I don't want the sides. Just the rack on the fender itself. Good video man. I’m 6’1” with a short 32” inseam for a person who is 6’1”. Lucky I got to try the tall seat on a buddy’s bike and I knew I didn’t want the tall seat. IMO you should have a 34” inseam for the tall seat. I bought the standard height seat and it’s just right for height but the tall seat is more comfortable due to the extra inch of foam in it. It seems odd to me that you didn’t think it was more comfortable than the stock seat.

    What year is your bike? And what model of Dominator did you order? Do you have the full exhaust or slip on? I just ordered it from eBay but there's a couple different models and non said they fit my year lol. Said it goes from 97 to 09. But there were no changes from 09 until now so i assume it will fit. I didn't get the MX just the regular Dominator.

    • @greasycanadianbiker
      @greasycanadianbiker  ปีที่แล้ว

      My DR is a 2019. And I believe I got the one that worked on an 09 and it just fit right into the middle section beyond the initial pipe that comes from the header. The exhaust I bought was not an entire exhaust to the header in other words. U should have no problem. What year is your bike? And I got a regular Dominator, but it does come with the baffle plug. I love the exhaust, it's sounds great now.

And it shows. Did the break in and had it serviced ect. I just ordered the windshield, rear fender delete kit with the led taillight w integrated signals, LED headlight bulbs, the seat concepts stock height (i don't want to be sitting way up like that in your video lol) 2 inch bar risers, mirror expanders (all i can see is my arms in the mirrors lol) and i ordered the Dominator exhaust last night.

    • @greasycanadianbiker
      @greasycanadianbiker  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well now that I switched to the low comfort seat that's what I should have had all along. The low comfort is fantastic. As for the tall, it's fine but its definitely come someone that's 6'1 or taller. Totally changed the ergonomics of the bike and I didn't enjoy it at all. To make it worse seat concepts sucks as far as Canadian support goes. So if your in Canada and ordering from the US u better make sure u are picking what u want and the right seat. Do lots of research. As for saddle time, with the low comfort I put on thousands of kms since getting it. It's a huge improvement.
