    Please note: Bone char is no longer available as a fertilizer. Bone meal is a good substitute.

    OK, this is a good video but what is "bone char"....he has the amendments in his own buckets rather than showing the packages that one might look for in a garden center....is "bone char" bone meal???? never heard of bone char and I've been gardening for 30+ years

      Bone char is bone meal which has been heat treated. Animals are not attracted to it.

    Looks too shady for peonies....need full sun

      SuperWoodyboy Agreed. Plus, if peonies are planted in good soil they should only need a 10 10 10 fertilizer in the spring each year. Bone meal is not recommended because every friggin' critter in the neighborhood will think "food" and dig up or around your plants. If planted in good soil and mulched well and planted in full to partial sun, peonies are a no brainer.
