Since when should it take skill to dunk. Only time the meter should be shown if u either dunking on a big or if your build not a primary slasher. There will always be a way to left n right on 2k for play shots. Plus its only 2 points whats the big deal.
Ik some people kno how to cheese but its more cheesy playshots and doing that hotstep stuff takes skill to do. Only people I see doing is streamers n most of the time not even that. Its very rare finding somebody spamming contact moves. But they whole community has that left n right down pack

Its way more speed boosting playshots than a contact spammer. People mad about slasher cuz they want to use a playshot wit 0 defense vs a slasher. Timing meters don't take skill. It just gives an advantage to mfs who are good at timing meters. I grew up in the era of no meters were you had to actually time the animation and understand the release point.
All these meters on the screen make the game feel clustered and it's extremely unfun to play basketball when you can't see what's going on.
Timing is a skill bro. Just like the timing on a jumpshot. So I guess they need to take timing off of shooting too with your logic 🙄

Ankle breakers should be activated how they happen in real life…when I run right and cross over to the left unexpectedly… my defender should go flying to the right or fall in the same momentum…it seems like people just spam specific dribble animations for ankle breakers
Breaking ankles will be more of a skill to get better at timing …instead of just spamming snatch backs

It barely takes skill to use the dunk meter they let people make slightly earlies and late timing dunks it’s too easy to use the dunk meter but quick drops off one is just op. I have never seen anyone block that shit
I love the dunk meter my fav part of having next gen tbh. Me being a defensive mind player though I think a idea would be to have a block meter for when ur getting the contact whoever can time it better that’s how the play goes
Eh I think if they could dunk on you should depend on your interior defense rating to their dunk rating whoever has a better rating gets more leverage. So if he got an 8& dunk and you got 99 interior defense with 99 block it should be impossible or extremely chard for him to dunk on you
2k should be about knowledge of the game of basketball. Not a dunk meter that allows you into any animation you want. Unfortunately, it’s more about silly stuff like this.

I don’t want slashing to be harder because lowkey idk if I’m trippin but almost all I see is shooting builds now already I obviously see some slashers but mostly shooters because honestly I feel shooting is way too easy but that’s just me no one gonna agree but idc imma just say it. I don’t want slashers to go extinct cuz even on current gen with no dunk meter I barely see slashers I mainly see shooters. I might be wrong but oh well. I’m not buying 2K23 or 2K24 as I’m fed up by their stupid bugs, greediness and sh!t but if I ever get it and create my build (I only use PFs in park), there is no way I will get dunked on like this. People pay too much attention on what build to create from TH-cam videos.
Create builds that will fit your play style and ALWAYS have some type of defense. Any OF or small center should have at minimum 88 interior defense, high vertical and high rebound and block with good 3s (80) and a great interior finishing (90s) and you will be a BEAST in both REC and PARK. You won’t get dunked on like in this video.

Example: 95% chance dunking on a 6,3 point guard with no defensive badges/stats
20% chance to dunk on a 7ft+ glass lock which half’s when they jump on time
45% chance to dunk on a 6’7 pure lockdown with high block and interior defence
Idk about watered down, more like I’d rather have a 85+ 3 since I can’t afford to max the player out entirely anyway 🤷🏽♂️. So if quick drop offs are cheap and don’t take a high dunk rating. Ima go with that, but that’s just me tho. Carry on…

It isn't that I don't want ankles to be broken, but when I have a 99 perimeter Defense, 95 speed and 95 acceleration with 37 Def badges equipped, and someone hits me with a step back and my character goes flying towards the rim even though I was holding the stick towards them because I knew they were gonna do a step back I need that fixed. That unblockable Dunk animation shouldn't exist, but neither should getting sucked into playmaker animations regardless of your defensive stats and how you play the ball.

I like the idea of the meter, it brings a bit of skill gap which is great, but I can’t stand the meter itself, end up watching the meter instead of the dunk but apparently they’re changing the design of the meter in 2K23 so that’s a massive W IMO. Keep the meter in!!!

The dunk meter should only be used when you’re trying to contact over an actual defender. With a 99 driving dunk and hof badges I still get chased down. And what’s the point of a dunk meter if when I green it I can still be blocked. When you green a jump shot you don’t miss.
You wouldn't feel the same if you were a big, you clearly aren't. Standing dunk meter is all over the place as far as timing, unlike driving dunk meter.

I feel like a softshell crab right now on god. getting exposed for my quick, handcrafted, tailored off one legged dunks that i been usimg somce 16, that maximizes efficiency.
On another note it has nothing to do with skill. Obviously in my case, my whole build is designed for maximum efficiency so no animations for optics. They all do something specific. So with the dunk meter on, i cant seem to focus on the timing as well as gauge defensive presence. I got three ppl trying to swat me, i do not want a damn meter in my damn face
