  • In this video we take stainless cable and submerge it in the Presto Stainless Black to darken it. The Traditional Stainless Black can also be used in this exact fashion.
    Thank you to Architectural Iron Design for donating the stainless cable, check their website out at: www.archirondesign.com/

    How does Presto Stainless Black reacts with aluminum? I want to blacken the tools of a victorinox Alox, can I submerge it in the Presto without damaging the aluminum scales? AND! Do you have any distributor in Greece? Thanks in advance!

      Presto Stainless Black is not recommended on aluminum. You should try to only use it on stainless steel. We unfortunately do not have a distributor in Greece and due to the regulations of your country we are unable to ship this product to you. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Is that gonna work on stainless steel guitar frets?

    • @sculptnouveau
      @sculptnouveau  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should! You may need to scuff it up but any item made from stainless steel the Presto Stainless Black should darken it.

      Should be fine. It will wear down overtime but you can also just touch it up as needed.

    Is this going to work on sus304 stainless steel bike spokes ?

    • @sculptnouveau
      @sculptnouveau  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have never tried it in that specific case but we have not seen a variant of stainless steel that the patina has not react with. The only time the patina does not take properly is if the cleaning was done incorrectly.

    • @sculptnouveau
      @sculptnouveau  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gabrielalvarado6376 That would depend if you want to do this submersion technique or a wipe on technique. For a submersion, you need to look at what size container it would be in. You need to have the wire minimizing touching with other parts of the wire. If no patina can get to the metal because it is touching more metal, no reaction will occur.
