- Van life in Bulgaria has been a bit rough. Martha is still causing problems and struggling up hills, so needs a mechanic if we want to keep travelling in her. Our roof and door are also leaking, so we try our best to fix these. But the roughest part has been being apart. Solo van life is not what I expected, it was a lot harder than I anticipated. We missed each other A LOT!!
We still had fun in Bulgaria though! We packed a lot in! Swimming in the black sea, soaking in hotsprings, cuddling puppies and meeting fellow vanlifers @KieranandAlice, Bulgaria left us with some lasting memories!

We are Philly and Keely and we live full time in our tiny home on wheels Martha. After building our DIY home in a Citroen Relay camper we spent a year living on the streets of London before quitting our jobs only to be met with lockdown. Then we took our van further than she had ever been before to the very beautiful Turkey. Enroute we stopped off in Spain for a few weeks where we experienced every van lifers worst nightmare, we were robbed and they stole all valuables in our van. But now we are back on our feet, fully MOT’d and back on the road through Europe before we experienced another vanlife nightmare... our van caught fire! After the trauma of that we had a massive change of plan and have now made our way to Japan. We are starting a Japanese road trip and excited to bring you all along.

Bulgaria is really nice with loads of interesting places, spend a bit of time exploring. The dogs in Bulgaria are very nervous of people I noticed when I traveled around, which is odd as the dogs in Greece always came up to me, in fact the big ones were a little scary. Made me wonder if Bulgarians are not nice to dogs. Oh but the dogs at the end were friendly! That puppy was the cutest!! 🐶🐶🐾
Puppies were so cute! Yeah every country you go in I feel you can tell the way people treat animals there by how strays react to humans.
I've watched a couple of you"re videos. I just started from the beginning. This one by far is my favorite. The effort with baking the carrot cake was epic! The love you both display for each other is inspirational.

Philly, here in the USA we commonly use Dicor (a brand name) around roof intrusions on our recreational vehicles. It is a self leveling lap sealant. It comes in a tube much like the silicone that you used.
Will have to look up if we can find anything similar here, cuz it's still leaking haha

Yeah the guy that maintains the hotsprings apparently it is his dog and puppies. And the other older puppies are owned by a guy in a trailer near by. They are all very well cared for by the looks of it, full of love ❤️❤️❤️ was nice to get some attention from them during our time there 🐕🐕🐕
Like everyone else has been saying, lovely video. You two are so much fun to "hang out" with. Philly, question regarding your roof leaks, have you heard of Eternabond tape? We RVers you it on our rubber roofs, but I know they make it for metal too. I think it could really help your situation with those roof vents. Just a thought. Love you guys!

Awww ! So nice to leave dog food. Doesn't your heart just break for them?! Your Japan tour, for the first time, actually made me want to visit that Country. I used to leave dry cat food for the cats living in our communal garage until my Vet friend said to make sure to leave lots water as well. They need it to re-hydrate that food. I now leave soft food packets. Cats are so fussy about where and what they drink. lol
Yeah our cat Gus that lives with my parents only drinks directly from the tap or out of our cup on the bedside table lmao
