What most people don't know is that this wasn't the last time Vidtape Inc. did it. Their final tape was actually a very low quality tape (think of at least 4 generations retaped) that somehow was their only time they could cram more than 4 cartoons in a tape. Recorded in SLP originally, then copied over on SP material, they managed to fit exactly 8 shorts, of specific meaning. Even the prints' quality were the worst - 16mm stock, spliced so bad that only an insane person would have done such work. Several sources claim there's a reprint that replaces the last two shorts with A Coy Decoy (the redrawn version) and Streamlined Greta Green. Contents, in their order: 1. The Three Mouseketeers 2. Heavenly Puss 3. Blue Cat Blues 4. Jerry Jerry, Quite Contrary 5. I'm Just Wild About Jerry 6. Bimbo's Initiation 7. The Case Of The Stuttering Pig 8. Hare Ribbin NOTES: 1. It appears the first three comprise a more complete and gruesome take on the old "Tom and Jerry VHS" creepypasta. 2. ALL (and I really mean ALL) shorts have had their original company logos removed - be it UM&M, MGM or WB, all are gone in typical Cartoons R Fun fashion of title freezeframing, except for Heavenly Puss - it is the only short to play a slowed down version of the 1941-1945 Merrie Melodies theme, which is again typical for public domain prints. ALL shorts show signs of tampering and new animation, akin to the older 1970s' Radio Packagers shorts which often had new animation done to cover missing scenes. The first short ends with a painted picture of Tom's battered head in the basket, albeit very dark and with a digitally imposed "That's All Folks!" script (lifted off a 1937-1938 short by the design of it) 3. Shorts one and two play as per the Tom and Jerry VHS creepypasta. Short 3 however plays in a creepy "schizophrenic" fashion of only Jerry being present, waiting to get hit by the oncoming train. As opposed to the original however, Jerry positions himself exactly in the place where the train's metal wheels are, instead of the stone tracks. Newly made animation shows the train wheels obliterating Jerry to a red pulp. Short ends with a creepy decomposing Jerry, accompanied by the 1938-1940 Merrie Melodies closing theme, and a small "That's All Folks!" script digitally imposed in the bottom center of the screen - this happens on all shorts but the art and script style change depending on the year the short was released. In this case, the 1941-1963 script shows up. 4. The 4th short plays rather normally... except Tom goes on for about 4 more minutes over the short's original run, until newly made animation shows him dying of starvation and thirst. Jerry wakes up at the sad sight, and for once in the tape (and generally T&J's tradition), Jerry weeps tears of sorrow at what he has done. It is the only short where the classic fake "THE END" screen is used, along with a warped and slowed down rendition of the 1937 Looney Tunes closing theme. 5. The 5th short again omits Tom, continuing the 4th short's incident. Jerry is animated as normal, until the very end. As soon as Jerry finishes flying towards the moon, an decaying corpse of Tom shows up. His eyeballs seem to be intact, but weeping tears of sadness, as his haunting echoed voice (the one you always heard saying "DON'T YOU BELIEVE IT!") now saying, trying to keep his utmost calm, "My God, my god, why have you forsaken me?". The short ends with an instrumental of the 1943 Porky In Drum, but again, slowed down in the classic Public Domain fashion. 6. The 6th short plays exactly as the pasta implies, although the messages are translated in close captions. I cannot reproduce what they are saying for their content is way too vile. The closing card is similar to short 4, however sepia toned, as is the entirety of the print. 7. The 7th short plays rather normally, using the redrawn version of it... except the monster that Lawyer Goodwill turns into was reanimated to look much more horrifying. The closest I can explain it graphically is an art made by OdaBaX on deviantART called Pigman, except instead of fat he was muscular. The rest of the short plays entirely like the original however, and the "the guy in the 3rd row" saves the day. 8. Hare Ribbin is the Director's Cut version, except again, newly made animation was made so that the dog actually GETS shot in the chest, and a fake iris out is imposed to make up for the missing final scene (the one with "This shouldn't happen to a dog!") and ends with a handmade drawing of the dog, semi-decomposed, and with the "That's All Folks" script imposed in the same place, again. Vidtape Inc. went shortly bankrupt after this last tape was released (a month after the tape's release and the reprint that was made a week after the original) after numerous complaints raised the authorities' interest to discover the sick mind behind the edits. To this day, no culprit has ever been found, and surviving copies of the modified shorts are VERY scarce, mainly due to authorities requesting the immediate destruction, with failure of complaince posing a $10.000 fine for anyone in possesion of the original masters that were sold. Very few people have archived the tapes to prevent it from being lost media, and I happen to be one of the chaps that got access to an raw AVI recording of the entirety of the tape. Before you ask, I will not release it, regardless of the pressure.

Even though I'm from Europe (and as far as my memory goes, CRF/Vidtape never sold them outside the US) I used to make my own Cartoons R Fun tapes a few years ago - I had a "full fledged" setup, comprised of a Wii running WiiMC, a Grundig VCR, a DVD Player used as sort of an AV box (since I was feeding Y/Pb/Pr from the Wii into the DVD Player to ensure crisp image) and Sony Vegas to stitch the cartoons together. Found out I could cram a lot more if I set the VCR into SLP, and my top record was 8 shorts on a standard 180min VHS tape. Oh, and research into Vidtape's prints and tapes, including finding and digitally remastering their fake end card.

I love how the quality very slowly, but surely went down in quality. Just enough for a keen eye to notice, but not enough for a casual. Such as progressively stiffer animation, until there almost wasn't any. Well done.
You know what makes this effectively spooky? A .EXE game would have to rely on creepy factors like black eyes, horrific abomination that resembles an Sonic to kill Tails, but here, it's just Sonic straight up, no creepy eyes, no changes to his appearance, just plain Sonic, relentlessly murdering his own best friend

I'm actually _stunned_ at how good this one is. From the actual feeling of a bootleg tape (both in the live-action segment and the actual tape footage), how inconsistant in quality the animation and voices are, and man, the _violence_ in this one... feels like I'm watching a retake from a *different* creator! I really don't have much to compliment, because this left me speechless for the most part. More than your Faceless retake, and that was amazing as well. Firstly I wanna say, this was incredibly well done. The editing was really great, and there were some moments where I couldn’t tell what was animated from the actual show, or animated exclusively for this, and I’m pretty familiar with the source material. I love the gradual shift in both the video’s quality and tone. As more horror elements pop in, the quality starts to get worse, and even after Sonic had already destroyed Scratch and Grounder, the tone still manages to sort of stay in line with typical AOSTH to an extent with Robotnik’s moments. The video only really starts to become full horror at around the half way point, which I think is perfect for a retake like this, and keeping some of the original tone for the first chunk of the video added a lot of tension for the first half. The added detail of actually going through the VHS conversion instead of a filter, and the context for the bootleg’s existence as a whole with Cartoons R Fun helped make the story feel a bit more grounded. You and everyone else involved in this did a terrific job, and I look forward to any of your future projects! Side note: I saw numerous comments about whether or not Robotnik is or isn’t dead in the story, and wanna say I love that you kept his fate open ended. It adds a little extra layer to the story that didn’t need to be there, but glad it was included anyways. Please never give a direct answer.
The fact that you and DeniseKazooie decided to take the extra steps and make a VHS cover of the tape for a intro segment is honestly just amazing dedication , plus actual VHS conversion from MicroGaming instead of a digital filter makes it even more authentic.

Holy fucking shit, this was fucking TERRIFYING. This is definitely one of the best retakes of a Sonic creepypasta I have ever seen. I especially love how this was converted to an actual VHS tape to match the whole aesthetic instead of just using a video filter. It adds more realism to it, honestly. I’d honestly love to see a BTS video just to see how all of this was done (you don’t have to, of course). This was honestly really well made. The Robotnik death scene waa genuinely shocking to me, I was not exp Sonic to straight up spindash into him, it was REALLY brutal. And the nightmare sequence with Tails, Scratch and Grounder coming back to haunt Sonic was genuinely unsettling. And I also really liked the Sonic.EXE callback with Tails walking around only to see dead animals on the ground. Overall great stuff, been a while since a Sonic creepypasta got a got a good scare out of me

Man this was so good! I think the only thing to mention would be perhaps removing frames from the sections that were tweened to make it choppier and look more authentic to the 90s hand-drawn style but even then it’s not too distracting. Nicely paced, REALLY well edited. Well done!
here is what it probably would be like so the intro starts normal then it glitches to a new scene and tails is holding a gun, sonic runs in and says "hey bud you cant use that its vary dangerous here let me show you" then sonic shoots a walking pedestrian and tails gets terrified ,sonic then says "gun safety is vary important but i don't care, sonic says" then in a distorted voice and creepy wide smile he says "KILL" tails looks at him and sonic slowly points the gun at tails still looking at the camera, then it cuts off and you here a gun shot -your welcome
So the differences would be that instead of getting killed, scratch and grounder would get tangled up while still being alive. Instead of eggman dying, sonic would break his screen. Instead of coconuts dying, he would try to stop sonic, but sonic would go in circles very fast until coconut got dizzy and then head to eggman. Instead of tails dying, tails would be looking for sonic in the forest and say that scratch and grounder escaped and they are coming back for him.
It would show the intro WITHOUT tails in it and later show sonic attacking knuckles and then he would be like sonic sez!: don't attack your friends or else you will get the treatment of them;D and don't worry they comeback another episode... As long that it's not the final one.
Legitimately this is incredible. Idk something about the ytp language of it makes it feel like something someone would’ve made back in 2008 by someone with likely wild ptsd that reached me using my iPod touch on the toilet after the thumbnail had appeared enough times in the related videos for curiosity to get the better of me. Really works as one of those old creepypasta videos in a way that feels like it’d have exploded on a younger internet. Remarkable work!!
Always hated how a characters eyes would be a different color under mind control and no one picked up on it. It's better and creepier when they just snap
What confounds me is what exactly the end goal was here. None of Vidtape’s other releases were edited like this (not to my knowledge at least). This would have taken a LOT of effort to make in 1995, so they really must have been dedicated. If this was a jab at DIC, what was it for? Was Vidtape jealous of their success?
This video is such a blast to watch, the fact it uses both existing footage from the show and new art for some shots makes this feel authentic, and the real VHS transfer adds to it

Oh my gosh, this is INCREDIBLE! I'm actually not the biggest fan of creepypastas myself, since I'm actually one of those kinds of people who gets scared easily by them, but the scenes are so cleverly edited, and the dialogue is so well pieced together that I just have to give this one a pass! I actually took a look at the original creepypasta that this video is based off of, to get a feel for the kind of story that my recreations would be used in, and I gotta be honest, it wasn't exactly the best. Like, the majority is just static, and you can't even really see what's happening? Boring. This video, I feel, takes that awful story and enhances it _tenfold,_ as this time you can actually see what's going on! And my gosh, it almost leaves you wishing you COULDN'T, as everything that's going on here is just so dark and disturbing! I actually felt _legitimately sick_ when it showed the scene of Robotnik throwing up blood! This is the first creepypasta that I have _EVER_ watched to have _actually_ made me feel _sick to my stomach_ while watching, and that just goes to show how outstanding this video was. As for the VHS itself, the cover for the case in the real footage and the VHS recording itself is so good, both _almost_ look like they could have been real! You did an amazing job capturing the look and feel of a real VHS tape with the footage, and the cover was really well designed too! It's so put together well that it _looks_ like it _could_ be real, but something seems...off about it. Maybe it's the poorly drawn Sonic on the front, who knows? But that works to its advantage, seeing as this is supposed to be a bootleg tape! In conclusion, this might be one of the best creepypastas I think I've ever seen! It really made me feel on edge the entire time! Well done, Rodrigo! I'm happy to have provided some of the music for this!

My little cousin actually introduced me to this. This is by far one of the best creative Creepy Pasta episodes ever made! Props to whoever did the best bad voice actings, animation, even the VHS after effects! How was this all done actually?
Here after the premiere, and wow, just wow. This is easily the most brutal and violent retake of any creepypasta I’ve ever seen. I like how it’s a bootleg tape, instead of a real, lost episode that only aired once. The original story doesn’t make sense, as it stats that the voice actors left after they were done recording there lines. (Tails voice actor had to be escorted out by his mother, as he was crying hard from his screaming/recording session.) The reason it doesn’t make sense is because if they truly did leave, why would they come back in SATAM and underground? Another thing that annoys me about the original story, is that we never truly know what the episode contained, as when the author finds a tape of the episode, it’s just a bunch of static, with a guy appearing for a split second. Another thing that is dumb is that a bunch of the people who watched the episode reported bleeding and having nightmares. The nightmares part makes sense, but bleeding doesn’t make any sense what so ever. In conclusion, original story is mediocre. Not the worst, but definitely not the best. This remake is phenomenal, and the violence makes sense, as it’s a fake. So I’ll give a the best ranking, 11/10. The reason why it’s an 11/10 is because you included the headless bird scene. (joke) But yea, definitely one of if not the BEST retake you’ve done yet. You should also explore these CARTOONS R FUN guy’s in the future, as it can lead to some very interesting plots. Anyways that’s all, and thanks for making this, (also the crappy case for the tape isn’t too far off from the official VHS releases for DIC shows.)
10:08 I like how of all the things he's worried/concerned about at that moment, it's his fortress. He doesn't care about his critical health or the fact that Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts are dead (then again he pretty much treated them like trash). Nah, he cares about the burning fortress...
So I looked back to the original creepypasta because it had been so long that I'd actually forgotten about this entirely, and like _there is little to nothing about the actual episode written in the story!_ All that's definitively known in the original is that there's a scene of Tails with tears in his eyes screaming at Sonic, a shot of him falling into the river, and the bits about Robotnik hacking up blood and Tails crying over a headless flicky are also implied. The bit about the kids vomiting at the sight of the episode is also brought up. That is literally all the parts that are known for sure about the episode in the original story. That means that Rodrigo had to extrapolate all of this additional story himself for this video! *_I actually want to know what the process of filling in those blanks in the narrative looked like, tbh._* Keep up the great work, dude!
Alternate ending: Sonic decides not to kill himself and takes a leisurely run. There he spots Little Planet. Luckily, it’s the month in which Little Planet is at Mobius. He’s heard about Little Planet and the Time Stones. He figures that if he can go use the Time Stones to go into the past, he can stop his past self from killing Scratch, Grounder, Coconuts, Robotnik, Tails, a bunch of animals, and his own self. But there’s only 24 hours until Little Planet leaves. So he’s gotta go fast!
10/10 I would say that the only downside was a bit of a cut back on showing the bodies or as sonic was actually killing them but that all got made up for when they came back to haunt him. This is the most well Animated Retake I’ve ever seen of a Creepypasta lost episode. Prestigious work! Actually felt like a genuine lost episode
Making the episode have purposeful edit mistakes was a very good idea, because if you made any actual mistakes, it would easily pass off as part of the story. This tactic should be used more often.
I love how not only is it really good, it also has the same length as the average AoSTH episode. not to mention how for the first half, (until Robotnik's probably death) it felt like a real AoSTH episode. As for the 2nd part, it was really well done. With Tails death, Sonic's nightmare and overall death. I really appreciate the dedication put into this, great job!

When i saw the Sonic killing Robotnik scene, i didn't think i would see something so disturbing about Sonic the f-ing Hedgehog Also, the fact that Robotnik stayed alive after this is even more disturbing Great job, the tape turned out to be legitimately scary

Right, I've been meaning to ask this for a while: are the parts where Robotnix is screaming, the sounds of him coughing and him mourning his destroyed fortress edited voice clips from the show, or is that you doing a really good Long-John Bailey impression? Didn't ask about the sound of him vomiting since I'm sure I've heard that audio in other places.
Man, this has been like 7 years when I watched something like this, but this had to be 19 minutes of it, featuring the horror build-up sound effect I really hate with a passion, plus some good scares and death scenes. In 1995, some filmmakers never added the horror build-up sound effects, but in 2006, they were released. Overall, this is the best analog horror series just like any other Sonic Tape out there.

Of all the fanmade "lost episode" videos that I've watched on TH-cam since the early 2010s when the early incarnations of Squidward's Suicide were considered the best ones, this one takes the cake for being the best of the bunch, if probably ever. Okay so heres a quick summary Episode plays out normal until Sonic goes batshit crazy, killing Scratch and Grounder, later spindashes AND cuts off Dr. Robotnik's pingas, goes batshit crazy AGAIN and kills a flicky, and afterwards Tails. After that he regrets his decisions, remembers the good times with Tails, seemingly has a nightmare, then commits suicide. Scariest fuckin non EXE Sonic related horror material. 10/10 You've earned a subscriber. oh wait this guy made that kickass faceless retake no wonder this is peak...

This was such an incredible work! I had been aware of vidtape thanks in part to the oddity archive (their releases are just as uncanny as this fanmade one. Seriously, look and listen to the picture and audio quality, its such a mess, add to that the spanish dubbing clearly being done by one person doing one voice and its like its from another planet). Seriously, using it as the premise is super unique and i praise you for the creativity! Id always liked asoth episode 66 mainly because it felt like a mystery novel in less that you didnt see what happened in the episode but more so the mystery in how it was created, how it got aired (local tv stations didnt heed the warning from dic and sega not to air episode 66) and the fallout as a result of airing it. I loved how it included stuff such as tails screaming at sonic "what did you do how could you" and the mention of the red sky with the black silhouettes that kids dreamt about after watching it was added to this, and the amount of animation made for this too makes this an incredible feat in the world of retakes. You are definitely rising up there among the ranks of people like vibingleaf. Keep up the great work and i hope to see this level of greatness with akuryo bubbles!
Holy smokes, this got way more messed up and gory than I thought it was gonna get. This feels like what would happen if someone decided to push how far they can go without it seeming law breaking bad. Plus the visuals looking like it’s a bootleg and even having the weird animation and VHS filters really makes this stand out
You know, for an original take on “Sonic Horror”, this is actually pretty cool, from the small details, the overall graphic imagery and the story that it’s trying to tell, every ounce of this video is really well thought out, and I can greatly appreciate that, overall this video is a great example of how you should make a VHS, it shouldn’t be too out there, but at the same time it shouldn’t be mild, it’s right in the middle and I can greatly appreciate that, overall 10/10, I love it
This is actually really well made! You gave it a plausible backstory and even took the effort of making it into a vhs with its own case! What I can think of that would make it more realistic would be making the edited parts 12fps, that's how the original show is animated and the smooth movements being the standard 24fps make them stand out weirdly Good work!
"This video shouldn't have been this fun to watch... but it was." First creepypasta I've ever enjoyed reading/watching. Probably because it felt like there was any plausibility at the start, and it wasn't trying way too hard to be scary, way too fast. Great work on the animation too.
What most people don't know is that this wasn't the last time Vidtape Inc. did it.
Their final tape was actually a very low quality tape (think of at least 4 generations retaped) that somehow was their only time they could cram more than 4 cartoons in a tape. Recorded in SLP originally, then copied over on SP material, they managed to fit exactly 8 shorts, of specific meaning. Even the prints' quality were the worst - 16mm stock, spliced so bad that only an insane person would have done such work. Several sources claim there's a reprint that replaces the last two shorts with A Coy Decoy (the redrawn version) and Streamlined Greta Green.

1. It appears the first three comprise a more complete and gruesome take on the old "Tom and Jerry VHS" creepypasta.
2. ALL (and I really mean ALL) shorts have had their original company logos removed - be it UM&M, MGM or WB, all are gone in typical Cartoons R Fun fashion of title freezeframing, except for Heavenly Puss - it is the only short to play a slowed down version of the 1941-1945 Merrie Melodies theme, which is again typical for public domain prints. ALL shorts show signs of tampering and new animation, akin to the older 1970s' Radio Packagers shorts which often had new animation done to cover missing scenes. The first short ends with a painted picture of Tom's battered head in the basket, albeit very dark and with a digitally imposed "That's All Folks!" script (lifted off a 1937-1938 short by the design of it)
3. Shorts one and two play as per the Tom and Jerry VHS creepypasta. Short 3 however plays in a creepy "schizophrenic" fashion of only Jerry being present, waiting to get hit by the oncoming train. As opposed to the original however, Jerry positions himself exactly in the place where the train's metal wheels are, instead of the stone tracks. Newly made animation shows the train wheels obliterating Jerry to a red pulp. Short ends with a creepy decomposing Jerry, accompanied by the 1938-1940 Merrie Melodies closing theme, and a small "That's All Folks!" script digitally imposed in the bottom center of the screen - this happens on all shorts but the art and script style change depending on the year the short was released. In this case, the 1941-1963 script shows up.
4. The 4th short plays rather normally... except Tom goes on for about 4 more minutes over the short's original run, until newly made animation shows him dying of starvation and thirst. Jerry wakes up at the sad sight, and for once in the tape (and generally T&J's tradition), Jerry weeps tears of sorrow at what he has done. It is the only short where the classic fake "THE END" screen is used, along with a warped and slowed down rendition of the 1937 Looney Tunes closing theme.
5. The 5th short again omits Tom, continuing the 4th short's incident. Jerry is animated as normal, until the very end. As soon as Jerry finishes flying towards the moon, an decaying corpse of Tom shows up. His eyeballs seem to be intact, but weeping tears of sadness, as his haunting echoed voice (the one you always heard saying "DON'T YOU BELIEVE IT!") now saying, trying to keep his utmost calm, "My God, my god, why have you forsaken me?". The short ends with an instrumental of the 1943 Porky In Drum, but again, slowed down in the classic Public Domain fashion.
6. The 6th short plays exactly as the pasta implies, although the messages are translated in close captions. I cannot reproduce what they are saying for their content is way too vile. The closing card is similar to short 4, however sepia toned, as is the entirety of the print.
7. The 7th short plays rather normally, using the redrawn version of it... except the monster that Lawyer Goodwill turns into was reanimated to look much more horrifying. The closest I can explain it graphically is an art made by OdaBaX on deviantART called Pigman, except instead of fat he was muscular. The rest of the short plays entirely like the original however, and the "the guy in the 3rd row" saves the day.
8. Hare Ribbin is the Director's Cut version, except again, newly made animation was made so that the dog actually GETS shot in the chest, and a fake iris out is imposed to make up for the missing final scene (the one with "This shouldn't happen to a dog!") and ends with a handmade drawing of the dog, semi-decomposed, and with the "That's All Folks" script imposed in the same place, again.
Vidtape Inc. went shortly bankrupt after this last tape was released (a month after the tape's release and the reprint that was made a week after the original) after numerous complaints raised the authorities' interest to discover the sick mind behind the edits. To this day, no culprit has ever been found, and surviving copies of the modified shorts are VERY scarce, mainly due to authorities requesting the immediate destruction, with failure of complaince posing a $10.000 fine for anyone in possesion of the original masters that were sold. Very few people have archived the tapes to prevent it from being lost media, and I happen to be one of the chaps that got access to an raw AVI recording of the entirety of the tape. Before you ask, I will not release it, regardless of the pressure.

Even though I'm from Europe (and as far as my memory goes, CRF/Vidtape never sold them outside the US) I used to make my own Cartoons R Fun tapes a few years ago - I had a "full fledged" setup, comprised of a Wii running WiiMC, a Grundig VCR, a DVD Player used as sort of an AV box (since I was feeding Y/Pb/Pr from the Wii into the DVD Player to ensure crisp image) and Sony Vegas to stitch the cartoons together. Found out I could cram a lot more if I set the VCR into SLP, and my top record was 8 shorts on a standard 180min VHS tape.
Oh, and research into Vidtape's prints and tapes, including finding and digitally remastering their fake end card.

A .EXE game would have to rely on creepy factors like black eyes, horrific abomination that resembles an Sonic to kill Tails, but here, it's just Sonic straight up, no creepy eyes, no changes to his appearance, just plain Sonic, relentlessly murdering his own best friend

Firstly I wanna say, this was incredibly well done. The editing was really great, and there were some moments where I couldn’t tell what was animated from the actual show, or animated exclusively for this, and I’m pretty familiar with the source material. I love the gradual shift in both the video’s quality and tone. As more horror elements pop in, the quality starts to get worse, and even after Sonic had already destroyed Scratch and Grounder, the tone still manages to sort of stay in line with typical AOSTH to an extent with Robotnik’s moments. The video only really starts to become full horror at around the half way point, which I think is perfect for a retake like this, and keeping some of the original tone for the first chunk of the video added a lot of tension for the first half. The added detail of actually going through the VHS conversion instead of a filter, and the context for the bootleg’s existence as a whole with Cartoons R Fun helped make the story feel a bit more grounded. You and everyone else involved in this did a terrific job, and I look forward to any of your future projects!
Side note: I saw numerous comments about whether or not Robotnik is or isn’t dead in the story, and wanna say I love that you kept his fate open ended. It adds a little extra layer to the story that didn’t need to be there, but glad it was included anyways. Please never give a direct answer.

Holy fucking shit, this was fucking TERRIFYING. This is definitely one of the best retakes of a Sonic creepypasta I have ever seen. I especially love how this was converted to an actual VHS tape to match the whole aesthetic instead of just using a video filter. It adds more realism to it, honestly.

This was honestly really well made. The Robotnik death scene waa genuinely shocking to me, I was not exp Sonic to straight up spindash into him, it was REALLY brutal. And the nightmare sequence with Tails, Scratch and Grounder coming back to haunt Sonic was genuinely unsettling. And I also really liked the Sonic.EXE callback with Tails walking around only to see dead animals on the ground. Man this was so good! I think the only thing to mention would be perhaps removing frames from the sections that were tweened to make it choppier and look more authentic to the 90s hand-drawn style but even then it’s not too distracting. Nicely paced, REALLY well edited. Well done!

So the differences would be that instead of getting killed, scratch and grounder would get tangled up while still being alive.
Instead of eggman dying, sonic would break his screen.
Instead of coconuts dying, he would try to stop sonic, but sonic would go in circles very fast until coconut got dizzy and then head to eggman.
Instead of tails dying, tails would be looking for sonic in the forest and say that scratch and grounder escaped and they are coming back for him.
It would show the intro WITHOUT tails in it and later show sonic attacking knuckles and then he would be like sonic sez!: don't attack your friends or else you will get the treatment of them;D and don't worry they comeback another episode... As long that it's not the final one.
Legitimately this is incredible. Idk something about the ytp language of it makes it feel like something someone would’ve made back in 2008 by someone with likely wild ptsd that reached me using my iPod touch on the toilet after the thumbnail had appeared enough times in the related videos for curiosity to get the better of me. Really works as one of those old creepypasta videos in a way that feels like it’d have exploded on a younger internet. Remarkable work!!

What confounds me is what exactly the end goal was here. None of Vidtape’s other releases were edited like this (not to my knowledge at least). This would have taken a LOT of effort to make in 1995, so they really must have been dedicated. If this was a jab at DIC, what was it for? Was Vidtape jealous of their success?

This video is such a blast to watch, the fact it uses both existing footage from the show and new art for some shots makes this feel authentic, and the real VHS transfer adds to it

Oh my gosh, this is INCREDIBLE! I'm actually not the biggest fan of creepypastas myself, since I'm actually one of those kinds of people who gets scared easily by them, but the scenes are so cleverly edited, and the dialogue is so well pieced together that I just have to give this one a pass!
I actually took a look at the original creepypasta that this video is based off of, to get a feel for the kind of story that my recreations would be used in, and I gotta be honest, it wasn't exactly the best. Like, the majority is just static, and you can't even really see what's happening? Boring. This video, I feel, takes that awful story and enhances it _tenfold,_ as this time you can actually see what's going on! And my gosh, it almost leaves you wishing you COULDN'T, as everything that's going on here is just so dark and disturbing!
I actually felt _legitimately sick_ when it showed the scene of Robotnik throwing up blood! This is the first creepypasta that I have _EVER_ watched to have _actually_ made me feel _sick to my stomach_ while watching, and that just goes to show how outstanding this video was.
As for the VHS itself, the cover for the case in the real footage and the VHS recording itself is so good, both _almost_ look like they could have been real! You did an amazing job capturing the look and feel of a real VHS tape with the footage, and the cover was really well designed too! It's so put together well that it _looks_ like it _could_ be real, but something seems...off about it. Maybe it's the poorly drawn Sonic on the front, who knows? But that works to its advantage, seeing as this is supposed to be a bootleg tape!
In conclusion, this might be one of the best creepypastas I think I've ever seen! It really made me feel on edge the entire time!

My little cousin actually introduced me to this. This is by far one of the best creative Creepy Pasta episodes ever made! Props to whoever did the best bad voice actings, animation, even the VHS after effects! How was this all done actually?

Here after the premiere, and wow, just wow. This is easily the most brutal and violent retake of any creepypasta I’ve ever seen. I like how it’s a bootleg tape, instead of a real, lost episode that only aired once. The original story doesn’t make sense, as it stats that the voice actors left after they were done recording there lines. (Tails voice actor had to be escorted out by his mother, as he was crying hard from his screaming/recording session.) The reason it doesn’t make sense is because if they truly did leave, why would they come back in SATAM and underground? Another thing that annoys me about the original story, is that we never truly know what the episode contained, as when the author finds a tape of the episode, it’s just a bunch of static, with a guy appearing for a split second. Another thing that is dumb is that a bunch of the people who watched the episode reported bleeding and having nightmares. The nightmares part makes sense, but bleeding doesn’t make any sense what so ever. In conclusion, original story is mediocre. Not the worst, but definitely not the best. This remake is phenomenal, and the violence makes sense, as it’s a fake. So I’ll give a the best ranking, 11/10. The reason why it’s an 11/10 is because you included the headless bird scene. (joke) But yea, definitely one of if not the BEST retake you’ve done yet. You should also explore these CARTOONS R FUN guy’s in the future, as it can lead to some very interesting plots. Anyways that’s all, and thanks for making this, (also the crappy case for the tape isn’t too far off from the official VHS releases for DIC shows.)

This was so fun to record on VHS really gave it a cool vibe
So I looked back to the original creepypasta because it had been so long that I'd actually forgotten about this entirely, and like _there is little to nothing about the actual episode written in the story!_ All that's definitively known in the original is that there's a scene of Tails with tears in his eyes screaming at Sonic, a shot of him falling into the river, and the bits about Robotnik hacking up blood and Tails crying over a headless flicky are also implied. The bit about the kids vomiting at the sight of the episode is also brought up.
That is literally all the parts that are known for sure about the episode in the original story. That means that Rodrigo had to extrapolate all of this additional story himself for this video! *_I actually want to know what the process of filling in those blanks in the narrative looked like, tbh._* Keep up the great work, dude!
Alternate ending: Sonic decides not to kill himself and takes a leisurely run. There he spots Little Planet. Luckily, it’s the month in which Little Planet is at Mobius. He’s heard about Little Planet and the Time Stones. He figures that if he can go use the Time Stones to go into the past, he can stop his past self from killing Scratch, Grounder, Coconuts, Robotnik, Tails, a bunch of animals, and his own self. But there’s only 24 hours until Little Planet leaves. So he’s gotta go fast!
10/10 I would say that the only downside was a bit of a cut back on showing the bodies or as sonic was actually killing them but that all got made up for when they came back to haunt him. This is the most well Animated Retake I’ve ever seen of a Creepypasta lost episode. Prestigious work! Actually felt like a genuine lost episode

Making the episode have purposeful edit mistakes was a very good idea, because if you made any actual mistakes, it would easily pass off as part of the story. This tactic should be used more often.
I love how not only is it really good, it also has the same length as the average AoSTH episode. not to mention how for the first half, (until Robotnik's probably death) it felt like a real AoSTH episode. As for the 2nd part, it was really well done. With Tails death, Sonic's nightmare and overall death. I really appreciate the dedication put into this, great job!

Man, this has been like 7 years when I watched something like this, but this had to be 19 minutes of it, featuring the horror build-up sound effect I really hate with a passion, plus some good scares and death scenes. In 1995, some filmmakers never added the horror build-up sound effects, but in 2006, they were released. Overall, this is the best analog horror series just like any other Sonic Tape out there.

Of all the fanmade "lost episode" videos that I've watched on TH-cam since the early 2010s when the early incarnations of Squidward's Suicide were considered the best ones, this one takes the cake for being the best of the bunch, if probably ever. Okay so heres a quick summary
Episode plays out normal until Sonic goes batshit crazy, killing Scratch and Grounder, later spindashes AND cuts off Dr. Robotnik's pingas, goes batshit crazy AGAIN and kills a flicky, and afterwards Tails. After that he regrets his decisions, remembers the good times with Tails, seemingly has a nightmare, then commits suicide.

This was such an incredible work! I had been aware of vidtape thanks in part to the oddity archive (their releases are just as uncanny as this fanmade one. Seriously, look and listen to the picture and audio quality, its such a mess, add to that the spanish dubbing clearly being done by one person doing one voice and its like its from another planet). Seriously, using it as the premise is super unique and i praise you for the creativity!
Id always liked asoth episode 66 mainly because it felt like a mystery novel in less that you didnt see what happened in the episode but more so the mystery in how it was created, how it got aired (local tv stations didnt heed the warning from dic and sega not to air episode 66) and the fallout as a result of airing it. I loved how it included stuff such as tails screaming at sonic "what did you do how could you" and the mention of the red sky with the black silhouettes that kids dreamt about after watching it was added to this, and the amount of animation made for this too makes this an incredible feat in the world of retakes. You are definitely rising up there among the ranks of people like vibingleaf. Keep up the great work and i hope to see this level of greatness with akuryo bubbles!

Holy smokes, this got way more messed up and gory than I thought it was gonna get. This feels like what would happen if someone decided to push how far they can go without it seeming law breaking bad. Plus the visuals looking like it’s a bootleg and even having the weird animation and VHS filters really makes this stand out
You know, for an original take on “Sonic Horror”, this is actually pretty cool, from the small details, the overall graphic imagery and the story that it’s trying to tell, every ounce of this video is really well thought out, and I can greatly appreciate that, overall this video is a great example of how you should make a VHS, it shouldn’t be too out there, but at the same time it shouldn’t be mild, it’s right in the middle and I can greatly appreciate that, overall 10/10, I love it

What I can think of that would make it more realistic would be making the edited parts 12fps, that's how the original show is animated and the smooth movements being the standard 24fps make them stand out weirdly
