    Ways to Support Me
    🟪 1. Joining my Patreon, which has stuff like exclusive vids, preset packs, app giveaways, AUM session files and more. At the time of writing there is a giveaway there for 3 paying supporters to win Mollilooper for desktop or iOS. You can check it out here:
    🟡 www.patreon.com/Gavinski
    🟪 2. Using my Plugin Boutique and repeated links
    The Appstore has not had an affiliate system since 2017, so clicking on AppStore links on my vids gives me no support. But if you are buying desktop plugins, you can use my Plugin Boutique link. Maybe even bookmark it, and use it every time you can, I would REALLY appreciate it! Just go to this link:
    🟡 pluginboutique.com/?a_aid=65c7016dea38b
    I also have links for Loopcloud, Loopmasters, Beatport and DJCity, thanks!:

    www.djcity.com/?a_aid=65c7016dea38b
    Then navigate to the page of the plugin you want to buy. I will get a small commission at no cost to you!
    🟪 3. If buying DMT Cymatics presets, using my link is a great way to support me at no cost to you:
    🟡 gumroad.com/a/999143955
    James from DMT Cymatics is very prolific and has made a lot of great preset and sample packs for iOS. If you use the link below when buying, I will get a kickback from your purchases of DMT Cymatics packs. Again, consider bookmarking it! If people use my link, I am incentivized to cover James’s packs, that is a win-win for both James and I, and costs you nothing. Thanks for the support!

    This is exactly the kind of synth app I’ll toy with for 10 minutes and never open again. So fiddly and not hearing anything usable for my music. But the semi-tone bend limitation is a serious dealbreaker. That’s why I’m grateful for these demos you and others do. What would we do without you guys?

    • @GavinskisTutorials
      @GavinskisTutorials  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It seems this must have been designed without considering pitch bend or MPE adequately at the design phase. It was a baffling omission. I still enjoy using this with non-MPE midi, if I don’t need large pitch bends, but it is a genuinely serious limitation.

      About fiddliness, the touch zones for the preset browser are a bit of a nightmare, but the rest of it works very well, I think

    Thank you for taking such a good look at this. It's clearly an innovative physical modelling synth despite MPE drawbacks. However, for me it's not sufficiently distinctive from the other synths I have and use

    This is one of the first synths I bought in a long while because the sound is so organic, pure and unique. It seemed perfect for generative usage. Like you say it is great for throwing midi at. I didn’t really see it as a playing synth so the deficiencies you point to are not really concerning me. And yes external LFOs and such will be good in building up a sound. Personally I would like to see the keyboard in stand alone have a latch function to run it as an ambient machine without have to run it in a host. But I’ve also enjoyed pairing it up with other ambient apps like Noises. I set it up and let it run!

    • @GavinskisTutorials
      @GavinskisTutorials  วันที่ผ่านมา

      You reminded me of another issue actually. Not only does the keyboard need a latch mode, it is currently not possible to play the keyboard while tweaking the synth! Try it, is it like that on your device too?

    Wow thanks for the deep dive Gav, really great job on this one - don’t know much about Mass Spring networks. It looks like this might at least be a good introduction for beginners, appreciate BA doing what they do.

    In the very rare case where viewers are still using Reason, (like I do), I feel like I must recommend Objekt because it's one of the most highly respected physical modelling synths.

    Maybe it’s not the best sounding PM (at least for a desktop) but I love the features. Not perfect but I don’t think I know any perfect PM synth😅

      I haven't tried many of the desktop offerings, but I love Plasmonic and also Kaivo. I think Atoms can sound very nice, but if you take out the modulation, the sound palette is pretty limited

      I have mixed feelings about it, definitely. If MPE and pitchbend were fully implemented I would be very happy with it, as it is it is honestly somewhat hobbled, but I do like the sound.
