My ET6 is extremely tempermental, runs like a racing car. . And unlike the ET1 and ET7, the complex governor control on the ET6 cannot be adjusted to make it run at a realistic speed. All in all, I would never buy this model ever again. The most expensive and the worst one of all the horizontal hit and miss models.
You can adjust it. Step one is to tighten the bolt with the cam arm a bit to make it run more controlled, and step 2 is to disassemble the governor and replace the spring with a softer one. Usually, shortening up a pen spring and then installing it does the trick, but maybe stretching and cutting a lighter flint spring would work just as well. Make sure to be careful! If you lose one of those tiny clips, it's all over.
If it's fussy, tightening down the bolt retaining the cam arm will help tremendously. From factory it is very loose with a lot of slop. Snugging it down to reduce that play is one of the easiest improvements to make to this engine. A slight ignition and valve timing adjustment also helps. I love this model because of how much you can adjust it and how many parts there are to familiarize yourself with. I love how it isn't perfect out of the box and how you can modify it to your liking.
Wow
I love the exhaust... How did you do it please?
Nice engine, but this model runs far too fast!
