ABOUT THE BREED
The Central Asian Shepherd (CAS), also known as Alabai or Ovtcharkas is a mastiff type dog used as a livestock guardian originally bred to guard herds against predators as well as for personal protection. It is one of the oldest dog breeds, dating back around 5000 years. They originated mainly from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and surrounding areas.
