I dont understand stuff like that. My dad has a fairly big toys collection, mostly metal cars. I could maybe get like 700 for the lot with a bit of luck. But I will never ever sell them, it's such a waste to get history like this with sentimental value for some money that you dont even need

The old man was a shrewd haggling beast. Props to him. That whole family is outstanding at the art of purchasing. I’d love to see their salesman skills.
Pawn shop will always open the box to make sure it's not a bunch of newspaper or whatever. A lot of scammers. Now if you can see the toy from the original box that's a different story but if you're buying tools etc. you'll have to open the box.
I miss the grandfather. He didnt take crap from anybody. The guy was asking for more and then gramps went lower from the 2,000. He's like, "Dont try me boy."

They always know a guy that will come in and appraise it at a lower price because people always tell them the price before they find out what the value should be. Find out the value before negotiation. Keep your price in your head until after appraisal. That way if it not to your liking walk away.

You can tell the old man liked them, the way he stopped the one from falling it was like hey, don't hurt my stuff.
He definitely wanted those

Just remember I know a guy
One thing I learned when he offered 2000, the old man IS in fact a collector
