My younger bro had Stevens-Johnson at 13 a number of years ago. Absolutely brutal to watch him go through the process, he was in the hospital for about a month.

I'm sorry he went through that. SJS and TEN are awful diseases. I use these as examples of how a "rash" can sometimes be incredibly serious. And why antibiotics shouldn't be overused, as they are often the trigger that instigates SJS and TEN.

I had a severe Form of Erythems Multiforme my lips were looking like on the thumbnail i couldn’t eat anything solid for 2 week and only drink water without soda (the prickly)
It felt like i wrapped Barbed Wire around my Hands and arms
      Just awful!
But now luckily only the pigmentation defects remain

Me and my mother both had this. Hers when she was around 9, and me two years ago when i was 16. The most frustrating long term effect is the anxiety. I always over examine every little thing my body does, and i don’t trust any medications anymore. I had a more “mild” case, because my mother caught on what was happening early, & i got help ASAP. Only had to stay in the burn unit for 6 days. But i don’t know why i just can’t seem to get over the fear of it coming back worse. I cant stop having nightmares about it, and it’s exhausting.

I’m so sorry! I think it’s totally understandable that many patients who had a very serious medical situation will feel anxiety about having a repeat episode or some other bad illness. But I also think this is something worth seeking help for. Please talk to your doctor (either primary care or a psychiatrist) about options to help manage and deal with the anxiety. This might include medication, therapy/counseling, or a combination of these. Everybody feels anxious sometimes, but when anxiety is severe and relentless and gets in the way of our normal every day life, then it becomes a serious problem that can make life miserable! Please seek help for this so that you can have some relief and feel less anxious. Best wishes for health and healing and peace. ❤️‍🩹

What youre showing with the mouth looks exactly like what keeps happening to my husband. He doesnt take any meds to trigger it though and he wasn't sick with a virus. He also doesn't have any skin involvement. His mouth skin just melts off and seals shut from the tissue trying to rapidly heal. One time his condition was ignored by his doctor and his eyes became blood red. He's had 3 of these outbreaks over his 20s and 30s. They think it's behcet's but it doesn't affect anything besides his mouth. Negative for pemphagus
