Thanks for this video. I just purchased one today. Im just a homeowner and what use to take me 4 hours took 25 minutes today. My electric blower caught fire 2 days ago and I needed a new one. This one is a beast.
I’m about as ignorant as you’ll find when it comes to these things! For years I’ve used battery-run blowers, that are fine for blowing off my deck or driveways…but just couldn’t handle the rest of what I needed. Watching this video has convinced me to get the 600. Seems pretty straightforward, easy to use/maintain, and powerful. Looking forward to getting one. Thanks a lot!!

Good video, I have a BR600 and I love it! I've always been a fan of Stihl products, my parents have a BG 86 handheld blower which is also a nice machine. I had an Echo PB-755 which I liked, but once I got the Stihl, I sold the Echo at the end of the season. The Echo was a great blower but pretty much proved everything you said here: the BR600 is a lot quieter, more fuel efficient, and way more comfortable! Power wise they were similar, the Echo had a higher mph rating but the Stihl has a higher cfm and you could notice it.

Don’t forget! In the winter their is a “cold air adjustment” that users can find in the manual.
It be nice if you would’ve said the valve clearance…. Yes I know I can google it…..I know the manual says “go to the dealer”… but I don’t let other people touch my stuff unless it’s a warranty issue… that’s it

To be honest at first I was skeptical about the video. I just bought a used one. Two things, I didn’t know it ran two stroke oil because it obviously sounds like a 4 stroke. I would’ve blew it up! Number 2, the throttle adjustment was way off. Awesome video and thank you

I do have a question regarding the oil mix, though...
Mine says one of those little bottles mixes 2.5 gallons of 89+ octane ethanol free (ideally) gas. You said that it's a 1:1 mix. Are there different size mix bottles? Mine also came in a pack of, like, 10, versus 6. Not sure if that helps

Does this have some sort of hour meter on it? I'm a fan of maintaining equipment but I don't usually see the smaller equipment with hour meters.
No. But Stihl does make their Bluetooth Connected Puck. Around $25. Useful item.
Always let it run idle for 30 seconds before full throttle to warm up
Is there a difference between summer and winter setting? I’ve seen the flap behind the air filter has something to do with it
Good catch. If the temperature is below 40 deg Fahrenheit you can put it on winter mode, just don't forget to change it back or you will do major damage.

not a fan of those Velcro straps for the tube, I wish all of stihl's blowers had that metal hook and ring like on the 800. 😥

I can see your point. That new BR800 strap system works great. How often do you find yourself digging into the air filter?
@@Carlsmower it's not that im going to the air filter often, it's just that all the other name brands have snap clips or twist knobs on the air filters. It's just a little tedious to use a scrench whenever I want to check the filter or set the winter/summer slat.
@@benjaminleslie3155 honestly idk where you live… but I run mine summer all year long never have a problem and I check my air filter 2times a year
677 CFM - not over 700..
The original specs were 712 cfm and 201 or so mph for the 600, but they changed them when they brought the 700 out for some reason.
677 cfm without nozzle and 201mph. With nozzle 239mph. Also I disagree with the starting procedure. I have owned a Br600 for over 10 years. When demonstrated a cold start, they said to prime the bulb 5-6x. Full choke, and it will attempt to run on first or second pull. Then he said immediately move choke to half position and it is idling. Blip throttle to turn off halfchoke and let it warm up for a few mins. 10 years later still starts first or second pull with that method never an issue. Love the blower. My ms250 chainsaw, no so thrilled tryin to start that bi+{h
