Xu Huang was an epic man indeed. The poor guy has been thrown in the dirt and treated like an insignificant officer by Koei Tecmo even though he saved Wei and totally crushed Guan Yu at Fan Castle.
Yeah, Koei likes the whole "Xiahou Dun vs Guan Yu" stuff that they couldn't even bother with Xu Huang. It's sad because Xu Huang was a phenomenal man and an exemplary officer.
Damn...ever since they made Fan a real stage since it is one of the 3 major tide turning battles along with Chi Bi and He Fei, the music is top notch and deservedly so!!!
So Dynasty warriors 5 was the beginning of Fan Castle music. I kinda understand because on 3, shu army only had guan yu and ping and zhou Fang. 4 did too but they didn't really have a full army. Because of the defection. 5 had an army and wei finally had more officers too. So kinda understandable.
Large Feather, Sold and Rainwater make me wanna cry. Whatever sad battle is coming in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, I think Rainwater will fit it there. I use Sold on pre-timeskip Sabaody in pirate Warriors to show the sadness of the Straw Hat separation. Sold and Rainwater deserve CPS1 remixes.

Pang De and Xu Huang were the heroes that took the spotlights of Fan Castle in reality, not Gan Ning, Not Xiahou Dun and most definitely not the Guans

My favorite DW Fan Castle themes are from DW5 and DW8.
Xu Huang outfit remind me a lot of Kenshin maybe he become God of War after Guan Yu's death. I think he's a badass character just like Taishi Ci.
Interestingly, Xu Huang is a part of the WO2 trio of God of War dream stage. He does have that connection to both Kenshin and Guan Yu.
Despite DW9 being a mixed bag with the fans, its soundtrack was amazing.
Sometimes the saving grace of Koei's bad games is the amazing music.
That leads to Liu Bei getting angry at the Wu forces for killing his brothers and led them to a match at Yi Ling
I like Wei ''s fan castle music and Dynasty warriors 8 fan castle music.
Fan Castle is such a depressing battle. I get anxiety whenever I play it.
