Great way to teach the boys to work in the forest. I am teaching my grandsons similar things - using an axe, fastening choker cables, handling the winch on the skidder.

Yeah they have a lot of fun with this stuff, we are fortunate to live out in the boonies and get to spend so much time out doors .

Must have been 9 or 10 when I was in the hospital at Christmas with Pneumonia and I wanted a new ax for Christmas so I got a new single bit ax. The next summer me and my friend John Gill would chop down alders, some as large as 12 inches in diameter. We had them barber chair , go backwards as we didn't put undercuts in/ It was a wounder we never got hurt. It sure was fun.
