I'm still amazed by 3d printers. My mind hasn't adapted to thinking about just printing off a part when I'm trying to figure out projects. Very clever steps to make the completed mold, from the print to the silicone to the foam structure.
Before I graduated from high school I had the opportunity to 3D print several things. After five attempts, and lots of waiting (they printers were slow {it took 10 hours for something I could fit in the palm of my hand}, modeling took time, and other people needed them) I printed two very small cars I designed in a somewhat lackluster program. I have those sitting on a shelf and it's still one of my favorite things I wish I could revisit.
Oh hai @nighthawkinlight
Its a slow learning process and curve seems to be long but its awesome when it comes to you. I had just last week, the experience realize i didn't have to search and spend money i just drew what i needed in cad and printed it off in 2 hours
YT creator community is best community.
Oh hi
😂 Nate's boyish laughter and glee at the end made my day. 😊
It's why half the universe is in love with him and his antics.
He turns into shaggy😂😂
So wholesome! I love seeing Nate happy and upping the game on some of the old projects. Only thing that could make it better would be if Calbits showed up
It's like you read my mind and said exactly what I was thinking on every point while watching this!
This project was a win-win. Nate got a giant sticky hand and go go gadget extendo grip
...and another great video to show TKOR that they really messed up for getting rid of him. A decision that will haunt the owner(s) forever lol
@@anonymeister123WHATS TKOR-
Monke monke go boom boom
This is the kind of randomness I grew to know and love with TKOR.
j
Isnt this the guy from TKOR?
@@EddietheedlerWHAT IS TKOR

The king of random ( says at the start)@@NathanREvans1980
Nothing is more pure than the unadulterated joy Nate had with this hand.
I think the micro-ridges left in the silicone mold by the 3D print is what made those sides non-sticky. I think this could be mitigated in the future by making the 3d printed parts smoother, either by coating the entire print assembly with something like you did the joints or individually prepping the parts with an acetone chamber (melts the 3D prints slightly and removes layer lines).
I believe he could just heat gun the non sticky side...
Also the hand and fingers need to be more flat.
@@bismuth7730Brilliantly simple solution
just want to add that PLA will not react with acetone. you will need to print in ABS for that
I was thinking the same thing, just coming down here to say the same
This is so great 😂
I would love a series where you revisit old projects you want to improve on
Edit: a series where Nate and Calli revisit old projects and make them better.
I second this opinion @@jamesnewnam9889
Grant's dream lives on with you Nate. You truly are the new The King of Random.
I want to see how far it can stretch before it breaks. I suspect it will require a BIG area to test
Like the old vehicle pull tests they did on the other channel.
Yes! Get Cali and do stretch tests lol
Maybe they can do it in a football field or a soccer field or something like that 😅😅😅like before the game like the football game or the soccer game 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Just when I thought I’d seen everything, Nate takes it to the next level. I think you need to 3D print a second hand and then use them to play hand ball with Calli. Or use them as oars in a canoe race with Calli.
❤😂
Just seeing Nate's childlike enthusiasm is worth it
9:22 nate so impressed with himself lol 🤣
Normal sticky hands can stick to windows, but this giant hand looks like it would more easily smash through a window. Cleaning up might be easier though, with all the shards sticking to the hand. XD
I'm so proud of you Nate! This might be life's highest achievement!
I volunteer as tribute to be smacked by it
Good to know!
Nate you're having way too much fun with the sticky hand. I love when you collaborate with Callie
Fun fact: Washing a sticky hand with dish soap makes it sticky again. Most of the time they don’t tell you so you spend more money but it’s super easy
They don't tell you because the packaging is minimal ad kids lose them before or soon after they lose most or all of their stickiness 😂.
This video was great! The sticky hand really turned out well! Great job
1:42 what’s he spraying
Idk 🤷 just saying the same thing
Water, it helps the process
👁️👄👁️
Nate not knowing what to do with the sticky hand is my brain at around 11pm
From 10:13 onward it's just Nate goofing around with a giant sticky hand. Can't blame him, I would literally the same thing.🤣🤣🤣
Seems to me it would've been easier to buy a bucket of plastisol than to unwrap a 1000 small sticky hands
Love It!!!! As a side note, Ron Swanson is a great addition to your studio.
Next do the world's largest Wacky Wall Crawler!
You should’ve tried throwing it to the ceiling 😂😂 that’s a real classic sticky hand test
Id like to imagine this feels like having your soul squeezed from your body while having every bone crushed into powder, then being yoinked into a different dimension at the speed of sound
tbh "Nate From the Internet" sounds like a channel in 2009.
Nate is such a kid in an adult's body. It's nice to see him so excited about such projects.
I was laughing hysterically along with you Nate 😂 You meed to do a giant wall crawler, they were my second favorite novelty next to these sticky hands when i was a kid. You'd throw the octopus looking wall crawler at a wall, and it would slowly crawl down the wall. You have to try it!
this video made me extremely happy today.... seeing Nate absolutely loving this project was awesome. 😆
Make one with elastic fiber to reinforce the arm and mount it to a trebuchet. Go for the World's longest sticky arm retrieval.
You should bring it in public and take a picture with a random person with the hand on their sholder
Omg I really wanted to see that hand in a slapping contest and see how much devastation it can cause
I'm surprised I managed to this channel through random chance, nice to be watching this kinda content again
Yes! I love that you're starting to experiment again Nate
You need to torch the non sticky side, it will melt the porous surface
🤓
This is the first time I've realized the acronym for your channel spells "nifty". That's freaking genius.
Washing it might help with the stick factor. Just a little bit of dish soap...
It's how you make sticky hands sticky again.
This is the type of stuff I loved watching you and Cali doing on The King of Random and I love watching you doing this type of stuff on your channel and having fun with it.
I just want to see him dangle the giant sticky hand over a high ledge to see how far it goes!
The urge to slap someone like how the hacksmith slapped ian with the sillicone arm
I can definitely see the giant sticky hand scarf being the next big thing
I normally really dislike the "thanks to the patreons" part of any video. But this time, I was just so proud for you that you had so many people who weren't just financially capable of, but also willing to support your channel. You go Nate
This time...its being used...to continue grants legacy. Unlike TKOR now
I don't know why foam insulation spray as a reinforcing material for flexible molds has never occurred to me. I'll save that trick for later.
That's super, Nate! You should show Callie your huge sticky hand! She would think that was awesome! 🥰😀😆🖐️
She might want to set it on fire. And while I do love the giant sticky hand, I'd totally like to see her as giddy as Nate while watching the hand burn.
😆
That brought back memories to one of my child hood movies flubber
imagine a body builder using that
3:58 forbidden icing
I can't eat it😢😢😢
💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
bro imagine how much dirt and debris its gonna collect
A 3D printer looks like a lot of fun. And the amount of fun Nate seems to be having with a sticky hand. While I can't explain it, I can totally see what has him so happy. :P I can't wait to see what will happen to or get done to the giant sticky hand! :D
stick it to a ceiling Popcorned ceilings or any ceiling thats extemely textured it attaches too best
Big boys, big toys
😂😂😂
Genuine question as I'm not a big 3D printer person, what was he spraying on the pieces where they connected after gluing?
I think it is superglue catalyst
Yep
I think it was rubbing alcohol or something like that
Stick it on to a moving car and hold on for dear life
Well at least you had fun
BIGGER😂!!!😂😂
try making it even bigger, and make the mold out of metal
Dude, I was thinking about eating the foam before you even put the text on the screen
Make a giant red one and have a sticky hand fight with someone
go outside and see how far it can stretch while swinging it around
what you need to do is go outside and spin around swinging it radially
You can feel how happy Nate is after the hand came out 🤭
This is pure enjoyment seeing Nate play with it 😂
Now to turn one into a giant sticky hand gummie.
time to.....
giant sticky face palm
When you’re making a master for a mould the surface has to be finished the way you want it to be when you cast it. You can sand your master or coat it in resin next time and polish it before you take a mould to stop this issue from happening ❤
I know she was possibly busy, but just a little bit sad u didn't invite Calli for version 2
That looks cool how do you do that
All set for slapsgiving ...
To be honest, when you first joined tkor i didn't really care for you, but over the years i've come to recognize you as the true heir to the throne of random
Maybe you can melt the surface with a torch to increase stickiness.
I would have killed for one of these back in the 90s😂
please make a wall crawler .Maybe not 9lbs but still like a really large one.
Would’ve loved to see you bring Callie on for this video…Perhaps for the next, have Callie make a sticky hand and have a war of hands!!! 😂
One of my highschool classmates used to go around in school with a salami attached to a string.
When someone went by him he said "csicska pofon" and slapped them in the face.
This stuff just reminded me of that :D
The ridges from the 3d print probably caused the non sticky side issue. If the mold was smooth it would probably fix that issue. Even though youre probably not gonna do it a second time im sure it was a big pain😂
bring someone strong enough to wield it
Bet if you gave it a good wash, the silicone touched parts would get sticky again.
can you pick up something from 2 stories up? like from the roof? or down a stairwell?
wow thats is incrediball job
the project wold make sense if you purchased the silicone compound or whatever the hands are made of, but otherwise it's silly
I want to see how far you can whip it out and stick something. Like sticky hand thief.
Now get Houston Jones to get slapped by it!!!!!
I’m not gonna lie that is pretty cool
The bits touching the silicone weren't sticky because of your 3d print job. You spent no time sanding print lines smooth so you didn't get a smooth sticky surface
Even spilled on super smooth parts of the silicone, it had no stickiness. And poured on other super rough surfaces, it stays sticky.
You made a grab pack well done
Science is the best
It's really nice to see you having fun. Thanks for a smile on my face.
As cool as this was, I don't understand why Nate couldn't just melt down a cube of thermoplastic elastomer (what they're made from) instead, and saved himself a lot of time destroying all those hands.
I tried. I could not find anyone willing to sell me the raw materials.
Almost all places have a minimum order. I used to build/sell gaming PCs back in the early 2000s, and the only way I could get OEM components (not retail boxed versions) was to purchase lots of 10 or more. I'd imagine it's the same, or even harder, to get raw materials from manufacturers or suppliers of stuff like this.
This fills me with so much pure childlike joy. I love the idea of a giant sticky hand so much. Truly amazing!
the way i used to make it more sticky was to get it wet then air dry
I'd love to see more sandcasting videos because seeing you improve each video is so amazing, hopefully you'll sandcast some templates for future projects like a master sword out of sandcasted brass etc.
NATE, watching this while in grand Canaria, Canary Islands
silicone leached into the parts that were touching it.
Man the production quality is getting so much better! Loving the channel NFTI!
Your editor is amazing 😂
Use a heat gun to make it shiny again!
Got my subscription... reminds me of Grants old days
Make a body suit out of it...
Melt an entire suit and try jumping at a wall with it on?..🤔
