I'm one of the people who enjoys Blade for an entirely different reason- his suffering. Just a pure unbridled rage at his wrongdoers and unfulfilled rest he so desperately tries to cling to as death rejects his pleas. All Yingxing has left is a mind full of crazed whispers and a blade resting in his hand.
Same. He is a dead man walking, being slowly consumed by a disease he was never supposed to have. His slowly dying body replaced with an immortal one, his healthy mind replaced with a slowly dying one. The tragedy in that is so perverse, so cruel that it becomes something captivating.
As someone with Blade as one of my mains, a massive fave, and definitely my favourite of the Stellaron Hunters, I really love this song and feel like it shows his personality and lore extremely well. A lot of people just see him as an edgelord but he is so much more than just that (he is edgy, though, don't get me wrong). His story revolving mental health and fantasies about death, his self dehumanization as a 'weapon' due to Jingliu's conditioning through torture, the fact that he was Huaiyan's apprentice who loved crafting but can no longer do it due to the damage in his hands from torture, his close bond with Imbibitor Lunae turned into a bitter rivalry. There's so much to him in his character stories. And his soft side as well, like promising Silver Wolf he'll play games with her once his hands heal, despite not even knowing if that would ever happen. And finding the cat cake based on him cute. I just know he'd love his niece Yunli too. I feel like the shifting tones between calm melancholy and rage and hate, in the instrumental and vocals, really capture his different sides. The references to the lore were insane too. The way some of the lyrics are based on the eidolons 'Blade cuts the deepest in Hell', 'Ten thousand sorrows from one broken dream', and 'Rejected by death, infected with life'? AMAZING attention to detail. The chorus sent chills up my spine, especially with the "One broken dream on the whims of cruelty Those tranquil emerald eyes I'll hunt through paradise" part as a reference to his second character story: "He had no dragon horns, and his reaction was slightly less mature than he remembered... But he would never forget this spear, these eyes, and how cruelty burst out from beneath the mirror-like emerald calmness." In fact, SO much of this song references Dan Heng/Dan Feng, it's insane. (Lol my favourite divorced couple, non shippers don't attack me for my joke) And the way you used screamos to represent Blade's mara taking over and the music got more chaotic and intense? ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE. Sorry for the essay LOL, I just think it's one of your best songs till date for all the details and the faithfulness to the character. Absolutely 11/10.

There are so many things to unpack with this incredible song. First, hala's exquisite ability to blend angelic vocals with screams. Second, bloomgums' extraordinary production of this beat. All in all this is a fantastic song.

You know I didn't pay too much attention to this song initially since I'm not a Honkai fan, but once again you pulled out the heat and didn't disappoint!

Just the contrast between the not soft really but softer parts of the song and the angrier screams really fits how shattered Blade is. Like if not for Jingliu, if not for the mara Blade probably wouldn't hate Dan Heng as much. After all from what we know Yingxing agreed to the plan to help try and bring back Baiheng(also hi anyone else notice BAIlu and Dan HENG I think Bailu even uses the same character, and we all know what the Companion Quest revealed there, not sure about Dan Heng but...really curious how the two were named.) The whole situation just turned out a clusterfuck and ~vibrates in FEELS~ no one came out of that situation unscathed. Not a one of them and Blade really got hit the hardest I think(THANKS JINGLIU YOU DEFINITELY HELPED THERE *NOT*) Just...I have many emotions and many rants about the preceptora who never taught their High Elder how to deal with grief properly and their actions during and after the Sedition. You know I didn't pay too much attention to this song initially since I'm not a Honkai fan, but once again you pulled out the heat and didn't disappoint!
~flailing, shrieking, dying~ As expected an amazing banger for our boi Blade!!!! Just the contrast between the not soft really but softer parts of the song and the angrier screams really fits how shattered Blade is. Like if not for Jingliu, if not for the mara Blade probably wouldn't hate Dan Heng as much. After all from what we know Yingxing agreed to the plan to help try and bring back Baiheng(also hi anyone else notice BAIlu and Dan HENG I think Bailu even uses the same character, and we all know what the Companion Quest revealed there, not sure about Dan Heng but...really curious how the two were named.) The whole situation just turned out a clusterfuck and ~vibrates in FEELS~ no one came out of that situation unscathed. Not a one of them and Blade really got hit the hardest I think(THANKS JINGLIU YOU DEFINITELY HELPED THERE *NOT*) Just...I have many emotions and many rants about the preceptora who never taught their High Elder how to deal with grief properly and their actions during and after the Sedition.
