Holy shit, I’ve been watching diy sword videos for a couple days now and this is better then every single one so far! The joinery for the cross guard and pommel doesn’t sacrifice any strength by using a shorter tang, and there’s no possibility of the tang not fitting into a separately made cross guard because of miss measurements because it’s just glued directly to it. And using paracord for the wrapping instead of leather saves so much cost, and the two layers of it looks sick
Hey I like that you did this all by hand I do the same with my knives but you don't need glue to keep the lace in place. If you tie it off right it won't come undone unless someone purposefully tries to take it off.
1:39 what is the name of tool your using to get the bevel? I'm looking to get into doing some wood work for some projects and am trying to learn what I need so I don't suffer by not buying tools that can make my life easier.
I’ve made one. I got a long piece of wood. I could make a cool looking sword just by using a heavy knife(to cut unnecessary parts), a hacksaw blade, and some sandpapers.
Hi. Looking for the exact kind of saw the you use for the rought shaping of the blade, guard and pummle. But I I can fint out what that kind of saw I called. 😂 Tip please... 😊
Hi There, I was wondering if you have any instructions or the templates online that are available, I am making both the steel and silver for a friend of mine and I only have a week. Kind Regards
For the dimensions check out on facebook under the Witcher's Swords videos. For the instructions you can simply watch the videos :) .I hope i could help you a little bit.
are you open to taking requests on builds like this? I'd love to own one of these myself, but don't exactly have the tools or the skills to make it a reality. I'd love to hear back from you if possible! Regardless, awesome work, this was really neat to watch!

I've used pine. Two coats of gray stain, and some silver wall paint on top (for more realistic effect). But you can use any metallic paint which imitates silver.
One piece of advice I could give if you want to make it look like real metal is use a light grey as a base coat. Silver is such a thin paint that to colour the whole thing with just silver you'd need about 50,000 coats. However, as you applyed a stain and not a primer, I'm assuming you wanted the grain to show. Just a tip for future progects.
IT LOOKS MUCH COOLER THAN MY WOODEN SWORD But I feel like my wooden sword is stronger...I WANT TO TEST IT (hits tree) CRACK!!!! "Well... That didn't last long".

I`m not sure if you`re still looking for this info, but it`s called a Wood Plane. Not sure what the name of the one at 5:21 is though.
I really liked this, but there's one thing I must ask: was it meant to be the size of the actual sword?
Well, it's the maximum sword size which I'm able to confortably pull from my back. It's really that simple :)
True, (in the 3rd game at least) it's impossible to pull it the way he does at the actual length.
Heard you asking about my swords... Well ones for Monsters the other is for humans.
