As a Stockport Fan - the statue is; as previosuly mentioned by another person, of Danny Bergara, who was manager in the 90s and there are a couple of videos on my channel showing how the statue was made and from the unveiling back in May 2023.
I've been to Stockport County and Salford City grounds. Saw Gary Neville. (Watching Gloucester City AFC in the National League North). Been to Boltons Reebok, (as it was known then). Watched Arsenal in a midweek FA Cup Replay. Been to a few different grounds around the Manchester area, following Gloucester. FC Utd of Manchester, (impressive ground), Hyde United, Droylsden, Staylbridge Celtic, Curzon Ashton. Been to Old Trafford once. During Euro 96, Stadium Tour with my Sister and Parents. Before the days of Sat Navs, my Dad asked someone as we got to Manchester, where the MUFC football field was.
Great video, really interesting….Bolton’s stadium looks great and is definitely Premier League standard. As an Arsenal fan living in Northern Ireland, a work colleague and I travel over when we can every year to see the Utd v Arsenal game either at the Emirates or Old Trafford….and I’ve yet to see Arsenal win lol. I’ve had to sit amongst the Utd faithful and bite my tongue when Van Persie scored back in 2012…traitor 😂….maybe now with Radcliffe’s investment Old Trafford will get a revamp….and I think the fan zones are a good idea in out of town stadiums, but might take away from the pubs etc on the walk up to Old Trafford. Great content anyway…keep it up!
Hello mate, thanks for watching & taking the time to comment 😊 I think after today’s 3-0 pounding we need more than investment haha 🙈 yours right about the fan zones I suppose the pubs before you go down sir Matt busby way would take a hit, true 😁 lots more stadiums coming to the channel 👍🏾
@@RysFootyParadise it's alright mate, I'm a Salford Reds fan, they play at the AJ Bell near the Trafford Centre, so I know a lot about Wigan but I bloody hate them 😂 nice review of the Toughsheet too #COYWM
Nice touch taking your Utd top off to visit the club shop at Bolton. Shame some of the whoppers who come to games at Edgeley park in their Utd and City gear don't have the same respect.
Before The Glazers it should have been re-furbished and have built a new one. I don't care by the sponserships especially local smaller mom and shop businesses.
DW stadium looks ok from the outside. But inside its pretty much just your standard sterile bowl. Both teams are owned by Mike Danson a local Billionaire. The arena is the training center for warriors and also soon to be event space for concerts from the likes of the verve. Behind the boston stand is the river Douglas and the Leeds - Liverpool canal. Wigan Warriors almost did a deal back in 99-2000 to move to what was the Reebok. And play all their home games there. As their old home of Central park was sold of to build the big Tesco. As part of the deal to clear the debts racked up by the clubs owners. This was before the deal to play at the JJB was worked out. A little Jab Wigan fans have at Bolton fans is that the Reebok is one mile closer to Wigan than it is to Bolton. Along with the two times Tics have beat Wanderers 4 - 0 at the Reebok. Thus punningly calling it the second home for Wigan Athletic.
@@darrenbowden3222 you guys are spoilt for clubs up north, closest Prem club to me is Villa at an hour 15 🙈 my dad raised me a United fan so I can’t abandon them at the ripe old age of 34 😁
@@darrenbowden3222 haha fair play mate, yeah most people around here will follow 2 clubs - local like Forest Green, Cheltenham, etc… then normally United or Liverpool 😅 I went to see Bristol Rovers Vs Cheltenham today (thankfully wasn’t at old Trafford haha)
The statue is Danny Bergara a Uruguayan who managed County in the late 80s, not our most successful manager but loved by all.
Thanks for that mate, good to know 😊
I work around the corner from Boltons ground, was keeping a eye open for you the other day.
Haha loved it mate! Only round the corner today at Burnley
Class video again mate 👏🏽 be good to see more lower league grounds on match days
Off to Wrexham tomorrow for some league 2 action 👍🏾

Bolton aka the reebok as I will always refur to it has a great pub near by called the beehive
and it should survive being old! just upgrade it a little and it's fine. take care of it and it will stand forever! Old Trafford!

The Robin Stadium is the new home of Wigan Warriors...
It's their training facility? They play at the DW

that salford badge is a cringefest.
United fan from Gloucestershire embarrassing 😅
Hardly unique tho is it 😁 most premier league clubs have more fans in Asia & America than they do in the U.K., let alone their hometown
