Totally. Kent Tekulve was so unusually built, tall and gangly. And the way he would concentrate and touch the peak of his cap. Do you remember the face he would make before a pitch? He came off as such a deadly craftsman hanging up the pros.

Man Kent was my idle and being from Pennsylvania and my father being a pirate fan meant something to me. When I played baseball and I pitched I threw like Kent and when I batted I combined Willie Stargell and Mike Schmidt’s stance together because I loved their stance and when I was on defense I wanted to be U L Washington because he was the only player who ever played with a toothpick! So frankly, the victory is marred by defying our sabermetrics, and this will be addressed in the off season.

We had great seats, just a few rows behind the backstop. In one of the games,Stargell cranked one into the 3rd deck in right center. He hit it so hard that it seemed like that the ball was still going up when it reached the seats.
